It is ludicrous to claim that the fault lies among conservatives for Romney’s precipitous drop among independents, which he’s endured over the past month (in some polls, it’s been a negative swing of 20 points), the primary reason he now lags Obama in most measures. Consider: since Romney ground Newt Gingrich into pulp in Florida with his 65-1 ad ratio three weeks ago, there has been not one debate, not one major piece of scandal or breaking news, not even one major round of negative ads against Romney. There has only been a series of gaffes on Romney’s part (most notably his line about not caring about the very poor) and a series of numbers which show mild economic improvement.
In reality, it’s those who demanded conservatives get in line ages in advance who made a fundamental mistake in how they approached this election. By demanding an ideological shift from a more populist, more fiscally conservative base they no longer direct or control, Romney’s most prominent backers failed to learn any of the right lessons from what led to the 2009-2010 cycles.

Have you ever seen the Twilight Zone episode that stars Billy Mumy called, “It’s a Good Life”? He’s a little boy with supernatural powers who sends people who displease him to the “cornfield” where they are found dead.
So the adults around him constantly tell him, “it’s a good thing you done,” and try to think positive thoughts about the little monster lest he sense anything he doesn’t like and turn them into a Jack-in-the-Box or kill them in some other gruesome fashion.
That’s how I felt sitting in humanities classes. The one place in the world where you should feel free to think and speak your honest opinion … meets the little Billy Mumy of political correctness. At the very least your grade and GPA will be ruined for saying something the little monster at the front of the classroom doesn’t like to hear …
… something as offensive as America and Israel and capitalism, although not perfect, being human endeavors, are nevertheless overwhelmingly good things.
That will get you sent to the cornfield.

Anyway, trouble aside, this post title made me recall when we were first married. In the apartment downstairs was a mean dog named, “Trouble.” Everytime he started barking my wife would say in her Japlish, “Trouble got trouble!”
It was March or April when I came home very late one night, looked at the long-dead brown Christmas tree still in our apartment living room, and told my wife, “Come on, everybody’s sleeping … we can throw it in the dumpster and nobody will know it was us.”
Together we dragged the tree downstairs, through the rear parking lot, into the alley, and threw it into the dumpster (a big no-no … it takes up all the space). Trouble started barking but we seemed to escape all trouble.
The next morning, the pain-in-the-arse lady who lived in the building who always had nothing better to do than to mind everybody else’s business was banging on our door.
I opened the door, she pointed an accusatory finger at me, and demanded, “Somebody threw an old Christmas tree in the dumpster taking up all the space. Was it you??!!”
“A Christmas tree?? No … no, it wasn’t me” I answered, assuring myself a little white lie never hurt.
“Really??!!” she shrieked. “Then why is there a trail of pine needles from your front door, down the stairs, and all the way out to the dumpster??!!”
I looked down and it was like a carpet of pine needles leading to the dead body.
Yes, there is a moral to this story:
People like that make apartment living so not fun … they are just lousy neighbors! They are not fun at all!
I would argue with my instructors all the time in class (back in 2008 when it was cool to be on the Obama Bus) about them politicizing the lecture. They would sometimes even have his “major” speeches in class on television or playing on the radio during “study” sessions. There were multiple instructors who would do this, regardless of complaints. This was happening in medical classes, I never had the luxury of having a class in the humanities where the instructor acted this way. The problem was, most of the students did not object to the instructors. It is amazing how much of the student body in the science field is made up of liberals/democrats.
It is funny though, now most of those same students who graduated with me are now much more conservative having left the environs of the brainwashing facility. I think it is something to do with having to pay taxes/have a job/ owe bills/tuition.

I ask because I googled ‘who owns drudgereport.com’. According to both Wikipedia and this site, which claims to be a media reference, Drudge’s site is owned by Drudge himself.
The connection may be with Clear Channel / Premiere Broadcasting Networks owned by Bain.
Drudge’s former radio show was syndicated through Premiere Broadcasting Networks, but that went off the air in 2007.
Drudge fills in as a guest host on Clear Channel syndicated shows at times.

Now Romney trots out a much higher job creation number, which the Associated Press says is “unsupported.” But even if we trust his new math, look at how he phrases it: “We created over 100,000 jobs,” he said in one interview, and in a debate he claimed “we created something over 100,000 jobs.” Unlike what he said in 1994, he seems to be taking full credit for whatever jobs his company may have helped to create.

As recently as two weeks ago, Romney had a fairly specific number in mind when it came to the jobs created by his vulture-capitalist firm.

I am not a fan of Mitt Romney, but that comment about the poor was taken out of context. It was a gaffe they way he phrased it but we on the right need not treat it as something true. What he said was he did not care about the poor because they have a safety net (unlike the middle class). Now it was definitely a gaffe since it can be taken so easily out of context.
There is also some truth to it when a family of four with a “bread winner” (if you can call him or her that) working one week a month at minimum wage can go as well and arguably better than some working schmoe making $60,000 a year full time…
I think the point is more that he thinks it’s ok that they have a safety net instead of helping them become self sufficient. Either way you look at it, he’s not concerned about their plight.
Actually, Romney’s quote stating he wasn’t worried about the “very poor” WAS NOT taken out of context. He said almost the EXACT same thing, nearly word for word, last October. This wasn’t a gaffe as in something misspoken. This was him finally getting called to account for something he’s been saying for months. Not a gaffe, but a focus group tested formulation that finally got used in front of the wrong audience.
And let’s not forget, that he tried to make it up, tried to show he really does care about the poor by promising to support increasing the minimum wage and indexing it to inflation. GENIUS!!!

What has always been missing from the RINO arguments for Mitt are his positions on the issues. Perhaps because they are like the shifting sands of barrier islands. Guess they thought we wouldn’t notice that, in their bum’s rush of negatives, to get the real conservative candidates out of the race.
But we conservatives did notice and no one is saying Mitt’s inevitable any longer. Only in the RINO alternate universe can a guy who doesn’t appeal to his base, not in 2008 and not in 2012, be considered the best candidate to run against O.

The reason for the ‘Jew Hatred’ is the rejected son syndrome, a psychological/spiritual condition.
Islam was founded on the grudge that Mohammed/Ismaelites have held over the eons against the Chosen children of Israel and the Christians, also descended fromt the tradition of Israel and worshipping the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Mohammed after a great deal of spiritual torment by evil spirits, in his ego-mania, rejected the necessity of surrender to the dominion of God, to the Scripture/Law/Commandments/Precepts of the Torah, to the Word and the Prophecies of God. He decided to forge his own religion, be its only/greatest prophet, conquer and subsume and hate the Jews and Christians…along with women and all others outside his control.
Mohammed fashioned his own god after his own will, desires, etc.

That issues rape jihads and subjugates women,
That stones women for being raped, rather than the men.

The True Holy Living God of Love, Truth and Life would not create a religion like that.
God is The Merciful, Loving God who came to earth to die to set us free from our sins.

The Fruit of God’s Holy Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, longsuffering, faithfulness, gentleness, goodness, self-control.
These are the witness of the Character of the True God.
Islam produces the Fruit of Sin: Lust, Lies, Death, punishment, oppression, coercion, fear, conflict, violence, rape, hate, misery, despair.

There is a deep resentment of the chosen son (Isaac and his line) by the rejected son (sons of Ismael) – even when the rejected son rejects the Father and His Way as Mohammed did.
This is the same emotional/spiritual condition that produces children with psychological pathologies ranging from addiction, same-sex attraction and more.
There is a reason G-D spoke the last words in Malachi in Holy Wrath over abandoning, sinful fathers and priests, and did not speak to Israel again through a prophet for over 430 years:

We have a nation full of rejected, fatherless sons and daughters. So many have grown up without good, safe, sane parents. There are no fathers in the church, government or society to fill the bill…we have lost generations of women and men to promiscuity/lust and to abortion as well. The curse and pall and sin-cikness of lust and blood-guilt lies upon the land.
Repentance and forgiveness are the only cure. Returning to the dominion of God and His Word/Will/Way. Selah. May it be so.

I don’t post talking points. Yes, I didn’t have time to read the article, but my mistake will show you how perception is reality. How many more who are against Newt or ANY Republican will read a headline like that and get the same impression I got? If you go back in this blog you will see that I was among the first to posit that Newt would be a good candidate and I haven’t changed my mind, but things do get taken out of context and as I said, for most people, who do not delve into a story, a sensational headline like that will be all they remember!!! That’s what I meant when I said it’s sometimes better to bite one’s tongue, and this isn’t the first time Newt has made that same mistake of calling on others to drop out. He is still my candidate, but again… I repeat for the 3rd time,perception is reality for most voters, unfortunately, so he should try NOT to give his opponents sound bites that can be used against him.
MAB – the thing is, it is incumbent upon us to realize that they put the headline up in order to create confusion, misinformation, low morale, a feeling of helplessness.
Our job is to develop the skeptical sense that says, “It’s in the NYT — It’s on Drudge — I wonder if any of that is true.”
To repeat something that hurts your candidate and his supporters without checking to find out the actual words spoken by the candidate is to spread disinformation.
We have get much sharper. Don’t trust them unless they have shown themselves to be above reproach and FAIR.
We have to rise to a higher standard of personal morale and gate keeping to our personal thoughts.
High morale comes from knowing what you love, what you are are fighting for, and making a commitment to fight for it.
Friends don’t let friends quote Drudge without a thorough check of the truth.

The connection that Matt Drudge has to the Romney camp IS Matt Rhodes. So, Matt Drudge does have the opportunity to “slant” what the people see.
I saw “Fox & Friends” yesterday when Newt said Romney should drop out if he doesn’t win Michigan. Even though I saw the entire article, Newt shouldn’t have give the other side a weapon to use against him.

I think it’s also weird that Mitt claims to drive a Mustang. Since Dad was CEO of American Motors, why doesn’t he drive a Chrysler or a Jeep? My father was an American Motors dealer, who became a Jeep and Chrysler dealer. The brand loyalty ran deep and still does.
