Wherein DEMOCRAT Trump adviser lectures Republicans on party unity

Trump may be able to fool 38% of voters long enough to get the nomination.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4b56Ied1z8

This video really serves as a metaphor for the campaign so far.

Michael Cohen, Trump’s legal and campaign adviser, is demanding that Republicans unite around “Mr. Trump.”

Of course, it is revealed near the end of the clip below, after a lengthy harangue of the RNC and Reince Priebus by Cohen, that Cohen is a Democrat and can’t even vote for “Mr. Trump.” Much like some of “Mr. Trump’s” own family members who campaign for him, who also are Democrats.

This goes to show that while you may not be able to fool all of the people all of the time, you may be able to fool 38% of the people long enough to get a nomination.

The New York Post endorsed Trump today in an endorsement which recognizes that Trump is not ready to be president, but he has potential (h/t Right Scoop).

Should he win the nomination, we expect Trump to pivot — not just on the issues, but in his manner. The post-pivot Trump needs to be more presidential: better informed on policy, more self-disciplined and less thin-skinned.

That should work.

    And “e before i” in Reince. I guess the Professor is just trolling me now. And how did I get three thumbs up for a comment that should not make any sense to anyone but the Professor?

Michael Cohen is the same T-rumpian idiot I heard very shortly after Der Donald announced say that entitlement programs would be untouched by Mr. Establishment, because we were gonna make so much money, it would be unnecessary to trim them.

Which is simply impossible. But it IS Collectivist magic thinking, so…T-rumpian.

The New York Post knows THEIR man…

“Should he win the nomination, we expect Trump to pivot — not just on the issues, but in his manner.”

Certainly as to the first. He’ll drop the fraud that he’s anything but a Collectivist.

As to the second, The Man From WrestleMania will always just be the pathological child he has always been.

    I see Trump as a Populist to a fault. But not a Collectivist. In fact, his brute force approach might be one way to break this horrible trend towards using force in the name of collectivism. Certainly the GOP “establish” is so far utterly ineffective. And in fact, they are mostly on board with many aspects of collectivism. In particular, they have bought into and now support treating people by skin color. Just look at their panic about black and Hispanics votes right now. Many will pander to get them. That’s a trait of collectivism to me.

This political cycle gets as close as I’ve ever seen to having us stare at and maybe through the looking glass. It isn’t that everything is opposite but it is all just strange. Dems are farther left than ever. More votes are going to a guy that would have been a blue dog Dem hardly a decade ago. The most conservative and non-traditional Republican person is getting traction more in resistance and less because of his policy stands.

Even more strange is the fact that the traditional Republican (party operatives and voters) is practically left out in the cold right now – perhaps rightfully so, and the more popular candidate is some mish-mash of every ideology out there. Sometimes liberal. Sometimes conservative. Sometimes libertarian. Until, of course, he “pivots.” Hmmm. We’ll see.

In the land of Unicornia there lives a pivoting bobble-head. Your wishes come true by rubbing his magic yellow bobbling head. The end.

So professor what is your point, that the GOP doesn’t need to come together and avoid throwing away the best opportunity the GOP has had to expand and grow the party since Ronald Reagan just because someone who observes (correctly) that the GOP does need to come together happens to be a democrat.

When he’s right he’s right. Only a fool would refuse to recognize the truth just because they don’t like how the messenger has previously registered to vote.

Also another surprise, business people in New York sometimes register as democrats because they need help from the democrat politicians that control the city. Just a thought.

    Blind hatred is naughty. Sad.

    Arminius in reply to Gary Britt. | April 15, 2016 at 1:19 pm

    Listening to Democrats tell Republicans what’s best for the GOP is sheer idiocy.

    Sheer idiocy is right in Britt’s wheelhouse.

    http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2015/08/06/john_heilemann_bill_clinton_making_a_little_mischief_–_told_trump_he_should_be_a_bigger_part_of_the_republican_debate.html

    “JOHN HEILEMANN, BLOOMBERG: …He didn’t say to run, because that is not the way Bill Clinton would do it, he said: “Be a bigger part of the debate.”

    You could speculate a lot about what Bill Clinton’s motivations were there. Making a little mischief on the Republican party?

    CHARLIE ROSE, CBS NEWS: If that was the intent, it was successful…”

    http://www.dailynewsbin.com/news/donald-trump-says-bill-clinton-told-him-to-run-for-president-in-2016/21475/

    “Representatives for both Donald Trump and Bill Clinton have confirmed that a phone call did take place between the two of them, during the time period after Hillary kicked off her 2016 campaign but before Trump announced his own. Trump’s camp claims that Bill told Donald to “take a larger role” in the republican party, while Bill’s camp says that nothing about the Presidency was discussed during the call. Several things could be going on here.

    …If Trump is telling the truth, there are still two entirely different scenarios that could be at play.

    …The more likely scenario may be that Bill saw an opportunity to steer Donald toward running, which would help destabilize the opposition party, so he convinced Donald that he could actually win. If that’s the case, then Trump is little more than an unwitting pawn.”

    And now the rest of the Democrats are telling us we need to be mindless pawns, too. Naturally the lobotomized Trumptards think this is good advice.

    It’s sheer idiocy.

    Arminius in reply to Gary Britt. | April 15, 2016 at 1:23 pm

    If you’re not a gullible idiotic Trumptard, Gary Britt, then you know you don’t grow the GOP by letting Democrats pick your candidate and then following their marching orders.

      Radegunda in reply to Arminius. | April 16, 2016 at 3:36 am

      The first option is correct. Gary Britt was absolutely, totally convinced that I’m a “Hillary/Bernie supporter” and a fan of Fidel because I kept pointing to Trump’s pro-Democrat history, his fundamental dishonesty, and his other egregious flaws of character and temperament.

      In Gary-world, only a far-left Democrat could possibly be opposed to handing the presidency to a pathological narcissist who has mostly supported Democrats;
      who’s vindictive, shallow, uninformed, incoherent, whiny, and immature;
      who lies as easily as he breathes;
      who admires dictators;
      who encourages violence;
      who threatens riots if he doesn’t get his way;
      who says pervy things about his daughters;
      who says his most influential Bible verse is one teaching vengeance;
      etc.

    Arminius in reply to Gary Britt. | April 15, 2016 at 1:55 pm

    Gary Britt’s idea of growing the party; we need more thugs inside the big tent:

    http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/politics/colorado-gop-chairman-steve-house-is-getting-threats-from-donald-trump-supporters

    http://www.indystar.com/story/news/politics/2016/04/12/state-police-reviewing-alleged-threats-against-indiana-delegates-critical-trump/82947728/

    Trumptards are not just gullible idiots, they’re hypocrites. On the one hand they’re seduced by a guy who tells them he’ll build a wall because a country without borders isn’t a country.

    Which is true, it’s just that the guy telling them that is lying about the wall and out of the other side of his mouth is promising touch-back amnesty for “the good ones” so his “wall” is going to be built with turn-styles every few hundred feet.

    But at the same time the Trumptards try to convince us that the GOP should “expand the party” along the same lines that Angela Merkel is “expanding” the German population by importing a hostile fifth column.

    Not falling for it Trumptards. Bringing in Occupy Wall Street/#BlackLivesMatters types intent on engaging in intraparty political violence is no way to “expand” the GOP.

      Mac45 in reply to Arminius. | April 15, 2016 at 3:08 pm

      You have to understand the Trump phenomenon. It is not about Trump and never has been. Trump supporters do not support Trump, who will likely turn out to be a moderate populist, like Ronald Reagan and G.W. Bush. They are supporting Trump because he is running against the establishment and they are fed up with the Republican establishment and establishment politicians lying to them. Cruz was prepared to run a similar campaign, but one that would not have embarrassed the GOP leadership. And, this year’s GOP primary was designed to eliminate a Cruz nomination. But, if a Cruz nomination could not stymied, the party has the wherewithal to control him. They have no way to control Trump.

        gmac124 in reply to Mac45. | April 15, 2016 at 5:46 pm

        “But, if a Cruz nomination could not stymied, the party has the wherewithal to control him. They have no way to control Trump.”

        You are correct about the party not being able to control Trump. The problem is he won’t feel answerable to anyone and nobody has any clue where he will land. I really see no reason to elect another thin skinned, egotistical jerk as our president.

        Where it comes to Cruz I don’t see the party being any better at controlling him as president than they were at controlling him as a senator. In fact the biggest negative I see with Trump is the biggest positive I see with Cruz. With Cruz you know what you will get, while Trump is like a box of chocolates (you never know what you are going to get). I prefer to know what I am going to get when voting for president.

        As an aside, electing Cruz would validate all of the work that was started about 8 years ago with the Tea Party movement. Trump will destroy that movement and set back conservatives a generation at least.

        Arminius in reply to Mac45. | April 15, 2016 at 6:05 pm

        I realize what Trump is doing. He’s taking advantage of a lot of people’s anger at the GOP establishment. It’s one thing to be angry at the GOP establishment; I am, too.

        But do you have to be a sucker? Trump is running a scam. And he enjoys letting the mask slip so he can let his lib buddies in on the joke he’s playing on those Republican rubes.

        Do you think it’s an accident that he sends out a registered Democrat to speak on behalf of his campaign, and demand Republicans unite behind Trump? What does Trump have to do, hit you across the head with a 2X4?

        http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2016/01/30/trump-when-audiences-get-bored-use-wall/79573388/

        “…Donald Trump told the New York Times’ editorial board that his go-to applause line for sleepy crowds is about building a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.

        ‘You know, if it gets a little boring, if I see people starting to sort of, maybe thinking about leaving, I can sort of tell the audience, I just say, ‘We will build the wall!’ and they go nuts.'”

        Of course he told the NYT editorial board that. He’s not serious about any of this. The wall? It’s an applause line. It’s red meat for the rubes. And they eat it up.

        http://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/13/us/politics/donald-trump-losing-ground-tries-to-blame-the-system.html?_r=0

        “WASHINGTON — Donald J. Trump and his allies are engaged in an aggressive effort to undermine the Republican nominating process by framing it as rigged and corrupt, hoping to compensate for organizational deficiencies that have left Mr. Trump with an increasingly precarious path to the nomination.

        Their message: The election is being stolen from him.

        …But in what sounded like a wink-wink aside, he said, ‘Don’t forget, I only complain about the ones where we have difficulty.'”

        Yes, Trump understand the mood of the GOP voters. It’s what con men do. It’s how they make a living. Which is why he enjoys letting the mask slip now and again. He’s got all the gullible fools slobbering all over him to the extent that he really could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and not lose any voters. Instead, the Trumptards would be praising him for a brilliant move.

        He thinks his supporters are idiots. He’s got them hooked and he’s playing them like a fish. The thing is, I’m afraid he’s right.

      Again Arminius tells us what the smart republicans want. And those smart republicans don’t want those middle class blue collar workers that used to be called reagan democrats back in the GOP. The smart republicans don’t want people who haven’t voted in many years back in the GOP. No they don’t want “those” people.

      The smart republicans would rather see the GOP die than have it evolve with new ways of thinking. Because they are the “smart” ones.

    Last night the New York Post endorsed Donald Trump. After I criticized the editorial on Twitter, a Trump supporter tweeted at me “No Goldberg, you are wrong. Support the front runner and stop trying to burn the party. Unite it.”

    This lover of unity and champion of party loyalty goes by the Twitter handle “TrumpOrRiot.” In all of the bilious argy-bargy and venomous folderol I’ve heard the last few months, nothing so economically encapsulates Trumpism more than calls for unity from a maroon who self-identifies as someone who thinks rioting is the only righteous alternative to his dashboard saint’s victory.

    Arminius says if a registered democrat tells republicans they should get out and vote only a retard would listen to that democrat. Arminius says the smart republicans wouldn’t listen. The smart republicans would stay home and not vote. That’s how the smart republicans show how smart they are.

    The “smart” people like Arminius know Cruz will NOT build a wall despite the wall being what voters want. So they trybto convince people of the lie that Trump won’t build t g e 2all.

    Trump promises the wall will be built at every campaign appearance and that Mexico will pay for it. If you don’t want a wall and agree with Cruz and Kasich that shipping jobs overseas with obamatrade and their purist stupid trade deals then vote for Cruz or Kasich.

      Step one: Don’t listen to Eskyman. Or people like him. This is why Kalifornians get a bad rep for infecting their new states with the old disease.

      People like Eskyman have no clue how they were complicit in the ruination of Kali. And they have no desire to figure it out. Then they come to places like Texas and think if only they had a fresh start the old, bad ideas would work this time.

      No. No they won’t.

      Cruz.

      I certainly have learned how to avoid the same fate from bitter experience. What’s your excuse for thinking that the answer to the nation’s problems is a guy who brags about being able to pal around with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer?

      Do you have to keep sticking your hand on the red hot burner of the stove, thinking this time it’s going to be different? Are you entirely incapable of learning from experience. If you want the rest of the country to avoid the fate of Kali, don’t endorse a Pelosi crony.

    Ragspierre in reply to VotingFemale. | April 15, 2016 at 1:36 pm

    You mean his comments that “New York values” dirty tricksters essentially robbed people of the chance to hear Mr. Cruz?

    You are an old daft LYING T-rump sucker.

    Arminius in reply to VotingFemale. | April 15, 2016 at 1:37 pm

    You are a lying Trumptart (the spelling is intentional). I’m listening to it right now. He’s describing how Cruz was sabotaged at the NY GOP Gala using various audio cuts.

    Essentially, if you watched the news coverage on TV you’d think that everyone was completely ignoring Cruz. But that’s only because whoever was in charge of providing audio to the broadcast turned down Cruz’s podium mike and turning up every other mike in the room to amplify the background noise.

    But if you were in the room that isn’t how it would have sounded. Because that isn’t what was happening. The audience was actually listening to Cruz and applauding at certain points. Not tepidly, but as enthusiastically as they had for Trump and Kasich.

    If you want to believe the propaganda I suggest you not listen to Rush. Because everyone, again if you’re not a Trumptard cultist, knew the audio was being intentionally manipulated because it went on so long and no one fixed it.

    It’s a classic display of the New York values that Cruz was describing. The Trumpists really shouldn’t have worked overtime to prove Cruz was entirely correct. It’ll backfire outside of NYC. And even within NYC; rank and file Republicans, what few there are, agree entirely with Cruz as they have to live under the thumb of those NY values every single day.

    Since there are so few Republicans in most congressional districts, it only takes a few for Cruz to get delegates.

    This isn’t really addressed to VF; she’s a lost cause, a whackjob, and legend in her own mind. But it’s another example of “don’t take advice from your enemies.”

      Oh and Arminius? You can go Eff yourself to hell and back for all I care. Have a nice day. 🙂

      Do you want some cheese with that whine. Cruz slimed the people of New York so it is hardly a surprise that the New York GOP gave him the dinner service speaking slot. Nor is it a surprise that one or more union audio techs were also offended by Cruz.

      According to reporters who were there nobody was listening to Cruz. They were having dinner.

        Ragspierre in reply to Gary Britt. | April 15, 2016 at 4:48 pm

        And yet…

        the actuality of Cruz’s speech that Rush played today, BEFORE the dirty tricks, had people loudly applauding his remarks.

        Funny what reality says that gives the lie to your lies, innit…???

      You’re absolutely right about there being several districts in NY, mostly NYC, with very few registered Republicans. Which is where Cruz’s ground game will show. I hope, anyway. Yeah. Trump is popular downstate. The actual voting Tuesday will tell us how popular he is amongst Republicans who are motivated enough to show up and vote in the primary. I saw the same remarks recently about the California primary. Cruz is upping the ground game and identifying Republicans in the Republican sparse districts and targeting them for support.

    What I said is:

    “Rush has had a lot to say about Cruz at the Gala last night… I suggest Cruz supports not listen to it.”

      “I suggest Cruz supports not listen to it.”

      Gasligting, VF, is not your strong point. I have yet to see any evidence of any strong point, but your attempt at gaslighting is frankly pathetic.

      I can tell you’re prone to being victimized by the technique, though.

    Judging from the reactions of the Cruz Militants, I am going to go ahead and include what Rush Limbaugh said about Cruz at the GOP Gala last night…

    http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2016/04/15/dirty_trick_cruz_audio_sabotaged_during_fox_news_broadcast_of_new_york_speech/

Trump may be able to fool 38% of voters long enough to get the nomination. Rafael fooled and entire state when he was elected to the senate in 2012. http://sonorannews.com/archives/2016/160406/news-cruz.html

All you Cruz Militants should go over to socialist Zuckerberg’s FaceBook page and “Friend Him.” He attacked the principle of having #TheWall and called out Trump over it.

(Zuckie lives in a walled-off community just like this Socialist Pope we are stuck with)

People simply do not understand the Trump strategy.

Trump can not run a normal primary campaign. He is running against the Republican Establishment as well as the other candidates. This means that he is going to have limited access to Republican election specialists. See, Republican elections specialists are beholding to the Party. They are part of the professional political class. Their job, and primary source of income, is running and advising campaigns. And, Trump is not a professional politician nor is he a member of the political class. He is also financially independent of the Republican Party establishment. If he does not win, he will very likely not be a source of continuing income for a Republican Party election specialist and it is very likely that such a campaign specialist would be blacklisted by the party leadership. So, Trump will take what he can get with campaign specialists.

Now Trump is running a brilliant campaign here. The way the primary was originally designed to run, would have made it impossible for any candidate to win a significant number of delegates. This would have resulted in a contested convention, if not a brokered convention, at which the GOPe would push through their chosen candidate. Cruz would probably have made the best showing, as he was preparing to run an anti-establishment campaign, though a more moderate one than Trump. And, being a card carrying member of the Republican political class, he would not have said anything about the party’s procedures. After all, he wants a political life after the election, even if he does not win the nomination. Along comes Trump. He runs the Cruz campaign on steroids, aka Rambo style. He runs against, not only the other candidates, but against the GOPe in general. And, he is so wildly successful, that he has a good shot at coming into the convention with a majority of delegates. So, when the Party leadership reverts to the shady backroom deals of yesteryear, in order to defeat Trump; he is free to illuminate these practices, as he has no future in politics, beyond this campaign. He simply refuses to play by the unwritten rules which require a professional politician to adhere to them or face the end of his political career.

So, Trump runs one campaign at a time. Currently, he is running against the GOP; including the leadership. If he secures the nomination, he will then change his attack and run against the Democrat nominee and the rest of the Establishment. And, if he runs as a moderate populist, which is essentially what he is doing now, he stands a good chance of, not only maintaining his Republican supporters, but picking up a significant number of independents and moderate Democrats.

He just might be able to pull it off.

I strongly recommend those of you in NY not fooled by Trump link this on all your social media accounts. Voter education, along with actually voting on Tuesday April 19, is the best we can do to help stop the Trump parade. In 5 days, I’ll be voting for Cruz.

Just a bit of info on NY. CD-15 has a whopping 13,468 active Republican voters. It will be interesting to see who has the best GOTV ground game in NYC. This is the CD party registration breakdown for NY for those interested: http://www.elections.ny.gov/NYSBOE/enrollment/congress/congress_apr14.pdf

Democrats outnumber Republicans over 2-1. The Independence Party has 441,903 active voters statewide. But apparently no statewide organization. A quick search shows that in NYC they’re backing Sanders, and in another area, the local party is backing a Republican who also has the Conservative Party endorsement. It doesn’t appear to be a statewide organized party at this time, and it’s guaranteed a ballot line because of the last gubernatorial election results.

And NY has over 2 million not registered with any party. Currently demonstrating and complaining they can’t vote next Tuesday. Boo-hoo, hear me play the world’s smallest violin for them. Civics 101 which used to be taught- in order to have a voice in politics, you must be active in politics. I’m not a fan of open primaries.

Democrat or Republican, Trump is the only candidate who speaks on the exchange rate which is the primary tool of the rich to rob the working Americans.

News continues to happen…

Now this:

[…] “Two sources told me that a senior Fox executive instructed on-air talent not to defend Kelly against Trump’s attacks.”

Well, I’m sure a Trump-supporting New York Democrat who’s potentially months away from virtually unlimited executive branch authority has only my best interests on their mind.

“Trump may be able to fool 38% of voters long enough to get the nomination.”

Whereas Cruz can fool much fewer than 38% and not get the nomination.
