Whenever I read NRA in the context of the Cain scandal, I always flash to National Rifle Association and become confused. There really should be a law against duplicate acronyms.

LukeHandCool (whose wife and the other Japanese mothers at the school led a packed room of well wishers yesterday in the origami folding of 1,000 cranes to present him. The OWS crowd usually amuses Luke, but their selfish, arrogant, self-pity makes him angry when compared to what this little boy faces. How is it that healthy young adults can convince themselves they have no hope?)

My wife told of me of one of my daughter’s classmates that suffered a seizure earlier today at school. CAT scans showed a mass in her brain. Good Lord…
There are so many things that I do not understand. The suffering of a child is one that I will never comprehend.
We don’t know the boy or his parents personally, turfmann. Our daughter is two years older.
The school sent out an email with his picture and his story. It’s just heartbreaking. Mothers who know him and his parents have filled my wife in on some of the details. It has nothing to do with politics, I know, but when I see the OWS crowd now, what used to amuse me about them now just irritates me to no end. You see a little kid like that facing true danger and hopelessness and you just want to yell at all those idiots to shut the hell up.

I guess they’re really impressed at the woman who was the intellectual foundation of the man who shot at the White House.
That tingle for Elizabeth must be getting stronger. Just yesterday (literally) it was a “Hall of Fame” induction. By this time next spring, who knows, maybe even a Nobel in anticipation of her winning her first election!
Without that tingle, even a Hall of Fame induction must wait until you’ve occupied Forbes list of richest people for a while (in the case of Harold Hamm), or had Grammy Awards, Tony Awards, etc., and been dead for 19 years (in the case of Roger Miller).

one op-ed today, I hope it is Mary O’Grady’s column in the Wall Street Journal: “Big Labor’s Yanqui Imperialism.”
On the face of it, the National Labor Relations Board’s effort to block a new Boeing plant slated for the right-to-work state of South Carolina seems like a futile exercise. After all, we live in a global economy, and that means U.S. producers who can’t access a competitive labor market at home can go abroad.
That is unless Big Labor manages to impose its stifling regulatory model beyond American borders. In that case, costs could be pushed up strategically elsewhere, and companies that might otherwise try to escape U.S. regulation would have nowhere to run.
The effort is already under way in Latin America, where countries that have signed free-trade agreements are being increasingly bullied by the Obama administration. The administration claims it is defending worker rights, but it seems more likely that it wants to use labor regulation as a back door to increase protectionism at the behest of U.S Big Labor. […]”
