Election Day odds and ends
A lot of history was made last night
Last night was an historic night for the Republican party. As with any election, all kinds of interesting tidbits miss the major headlines. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
“Get Money Out of Politics!!”
Sometimes money isn’t everything, especially not when you have a beard like this guy.
This Rhode Island governor candidate won 22 percent of the vote. He only spent $35. http://t.co/oionOLRBM1pic.twitter.com/YxGoOINc0Z

@KemberleeKaye@emzanotti No. We’ve had openly gay GOP congressmen. He’s the first to be out before his first election.

Ernst is also an Iraq War veteran.
I understand the commemoration of milestones, but I hope Republicans will not become Democrat-lite. The notable, achievement of Western civilization was to recognize individual and intrinsic dignity independent of ethnicity, color, gender, age, etc.
That’s a rather eccentric précis of Western civilization.

Well, THAT right there was a milestone all by itself…!!!
re: Maggot…
Technically, Cotton was elected a few hours before Ernst.
I wonder….Will any of these new folks stand with Cruz?
Tim Scott is the real deal, he hasn’t changed a bit since he was on Charleston County Council, fighting for common sense and fiscal responsibility.
But we must be careful with our future stars like him, and Stefanik and Love and Ernst. We have sometimes rushed our young prospects along too fast, before they were seasoned enough and experienced enough to handle what they were asked to do.
All four of these are pretty level-headed people, but don’t forget they are our bench for next few years, not the every-day starters.
“but don’t forget they are our bench for next few years, not the every-day starters.”
Born leaders know when to follow and when to lead and that is what sets them apart from the dead fish going with the flow. If you are going to be a bear, be a grizzly bear and not a Yogi. Politics as usual should have kept a few freshman Republican Senator’s mouths shut the last couple of years, but yet they connected with many at the grass-root level. I say if you got it, go for it. Who cares if you pi$$ the McCains off, unless you are worried about an IRS audit.
We need to work getting the youth into the GOP based on being the party of liberty and opportunity, rather than the party of free stuff.
On the social issues we need to be more accepting of others views but not accept getting their dogma stuffed down our throat. I think gay marriage is OK but it is so wrong to force someone to bake a cake for a ceremony one does not support.
