Election Reactions – Tears of joy, Tears of sorrow
Oh, what a night.
Last night’s Republican wave drew some strong and funny reactions.
Here are some tweets we gathered, and some of our own in no particular order.

So, GOP plus 8-9 in Senate, poss double-digit pickups in House, winning tight (and maybe unexpected) Gov races. Yes, that’s a wave.

Chris Matthews looks like he’s ready to take his ball and go home.
If only he would.
He has a ball?
No, they were surgically removed…
He has a home?
He’ll always have a home at the bottom of a scotch bottle.
WaPo has a long “insider” article this am on the Pubs taking the Senate.
One of the more interesting things (it’s WaPo after all so ignore the slant and mine the nuggets) is how the NRSC and RNC tried to force McDaniel in Mississippi out of the primary, and then went after him when he refused to leave. Turns out he was just the sort of candidate that the RNC and its donors feared — a loose cannon with a long history of inflammatory remarks that they knew the Dems would mine and use to frame every candidate’s race.
I mention this because at the time of that primary a number of commenters at LI were angry at how McDaniel was treated, and pointed at this as evidence of a “clueless” RNC. Per this article, perhaps the national committee was smarter than we thought.
Lots in the article whether one agrees or disagrees with what is written.
“a loose cannon with a long history of inflammatory remarks that they knew the MSM would mine and use to frame every candidate’s race.”
FIFY
We’re in violent agreement 🙂
I read that article also; it was in-depth and informative. But the GOPe using the tactics they used to kill off McDaniel’s candidacy were nothing but immoral.
I don’t give a damn how “smart” they were. The citizens and members of the GOP, are entitled to the candidate of their choice.
If they want to play hardball, well, two can play that game.
The citizens and members of the GOP, are entitled to the candidate of their choice.
I think that’s what the election decided.
I was one of the people incensed by the eGOP tactics, and I still am.
Plus, if McDaniel was such a flawed candidate, why the hell didn’t they just point out those flaws?
Naw, that smacks of manipulation in the event, and somebody’s butt coverage now.
I ain’t buying any.
If they had pointed it out would you have listened?
I don’t think so.
McDaniel had the support of the true believers in the Tea Party movement that wanted to throw out the old boys. Sure fine, but before you do that you should make sure the person you’re supporting doesn’t have a lot of baggage.
Yes, the party elders could have put all that out there.
But you could have looked for yourself.
I did for the candidates in my area.
The resumes have hit MSNBC this morning like a tickertape parade.
Seeing both Ed Schlitz [sic] and Chrissy Matthews in the same clip has turned the strong black coffee in my stomach into water.
Neither of these milquetoast lapdogs of the elites can see Walker’s appeal and electability, because both are typical Leftists and see a person’s appeal only in visceral, emotional aspects. If the candidate doesn’t make Matthews “tingle” or make Schlitz [sic] stop his hyper-raging, then they are not understood.
I just think it’s incredible that the GE and NBC shareholders stand by and watch this half-baked, money-losing, politically one-sided “news” outlet continue to operate in the red, or in this case, “in the blue”.
The GE and NBC shareholders are getting exactly what they want from MSNBC.
And the AL Gore Sore Loser award goes to Pat Quinn who refuses to conceeed.
Coal Barbie Grimes in KY didn’t concede either. She gave a 5 min speech applauding herself and listing her accomplishments, thanked staff and family, and got off. Never a word about losing, never mentioned her opponent, McConman.
