Israeli Strikes Eliminate Several Hamas Commanders, Hezbollah’s Top Bomb Maker

Continuing to face a multi-front war against Iranian terrorist proxies, Israeli armed forces eliminated Hezbollah’s top bomb maker and several commanders running Hamas’s Gaza-based security apparatus.

On Thursday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a precision strike, wiping out the senior command structure of Hamas’s so-called “General Security Apparatus.” This Hamas unit is responsible for “maintaining communication and coordination between Hamas leaders, protecting them and escorting them to emergency facilities, and collecting intelligence and guiding the leadership in decision-making,” the Jerusalem Post reported.

The strike killed “terrorist Hassan Rabah Hassan Labad, Deputy Head of the General Security Apparatus and a central figure in decision-making and the development of directives within the apparatus,” the IDF announced. “In addition, the terrorists Asim Amin Shalash Shubair, Abdullah Ata Younes Abu Kaloub, and Muhammad Naaman Zaki Abu Mark were eliminated. The three were additional senior officials who played key roles in the apparatus’ decision-making processes.”

Besides protecting Hamas’s top leadership and coordinating terror attacks, the unit has been rebuilding the terrorist infrastructure and command structure destroyed during the 15-month-long Gaza war. These slain Hamas commanders “were eliminated in order to remove an immediate threat, after recently engaging in efforts to rebuild the Hamas terrorist organization and assisting its leadership in advancing terrorist activity against the State of Israel and IDF troops,” the military revealed.

Explaining the function of the apparatus, the IDF disclosed:

The General Security Apparatus is a central and clandestine body responsible for securing senior Hamas officials, maintaining communications between them, and coordinating their meetings. Senior members of the apparatus are responsible for protecting Hamas leaders, facilitating their movement between emergency facilities, and producing intelligence assessments, including the collection of intelligence on security forces, which assists the organization’s leadership in decision-making and in executing attacks against the State of Israel.

Hezbollah’s top bomb maker eliminated in recent Israeli strike

The Iranian proxy terrorist Hezbollah suffered another blow as the IDF took out the head of its bomb making operation in a Lebanon strike. “Last week, the IDF struck and eliminated the terrorist Abed Harb, the commander of Hezbollah’s Engineering Unit,” the military informed on Friday.

Highlighting the Hezbollah commander’s long terrorist career, the IDF noted that “Harb commanded the engineering unit that was responsible for assembling and deploying explosives intended to harm IDF soldiers in southern Lebanon. Among other responsibilities, Harb was a senior commander within the terrorist organization and was responsible for numerous attacks against IDF soldiers, from the Second Lebanon War (2006) to the present day.”

This follows Hezbollah’s rejection of a U.S.-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon. The agreement required the terrorist group to stop targeting Israeli soldiers and civilians.

“The Lebanese armed group Hezbollah has emphatically rejected the terms of a US-backed ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon,” the BBC reported Friday. “It comes after Israel and Lebanon announced a renewal of their fragile ceasefire with the creation of ‘pilot’ security zones inside Lebanon in which Hezbollah operatives would be banned.”

Disrupting U.S.-backed diplomatic efforts, Hezbollah on Thursday launched strikes on northern Israel shortly after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the area. “Hezbollah’s earlier missile and rocket attack targeted northern Israel minutes after Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu left the area,” Israel’s i24NEWS reported.
