Tucker Carlson’s Son Exits White House Role

Buckley Carlson has departed the White House, where he served as VP JD Vance’s deputy press secretary, to start his own political consulting firm.

Buckley Carlson, the son of conservative commentator Tucker Carlson, is out at the White House.

Carlson, who served as Vice President JD Vance’s deputy press secretary, has departed to launch his own political consulting firm, according to a report from Politico Playbook.

“Scoop in @playbookdc: Buckley Carlson has departed the White House, where he served as VP JD Vance’s deputy press secretary, to start his own political consulting firm, according to two sources familiar with the plan.

‘Buckley first informed the VP’s office of his intention to depart in December, but stayed on for several months to ensure a smooth transition,’ a Vance official told me.”

The timing lands in the middle of a very public rift between President Donald Trump and Carlson’s father, Tucker Carlson, centered in part on disagreements over U.S. policy toward Iran.

On Friday, Trump called Tucker Carlson a “low IQ person,” and a day earlier suggested he “should see a good psychiatrist,” escalating the feud.

Online reaction was immediate and ruthless:

Buckley Carlson’s departure appears unrelated to the Trump–Tucker feud, but the overlap in timing has only amplified attention, turning a routine staff exit into another flashpoint in a broader political clash.

Translation: J D Vance starts the process of distancing himself from those who might cost him The Jewish Vote that he likely never had in the first place. This also removes a talking point from others in the GOP primary.

Sure and of course the folks who demanded distance and got some will now demand more distance which if they get will spur demands for even more distance….

I’m of two minds on this. Unquestionably had to be done, with likely more to follow to try and silence the voices demanding ‘distance’. Hopefully those same voices will not be mislead into Anti America First propaganda offered up by lefty wokiestas to try and fracture the coalition.

TC’s Son getting caught up in political fallout of events not of his own making (sins of the Father) seems a bit unfair. Simultaneously this guy probably wouldn’t have gotten his foot on first rung of the ladder to be in his current position if his Father wasn’t TC. I suppose careers that ‘live/launched by nepotism’ shouldn’t complain too loudly about careers/jobs ‘dying by nepotism’.

Your last paragraph summed up why I’m not sympathetic. He has his position because of who dad is, so it’s okay if he loses his position because of who dad is.

I really have no problem with either because networking is part of what makes the world go round.
