TPUSA Flyers Defaced With Vulgar Messages at PennWest California

The left’s hatred of TPUSA grows along with the group’s reach and popularity.

Campus Reform reports:

TPUSA flyers vandalized with vulgar messages at PennWest CaliforniaStudents at Pennsylvania Western University’s California campus in California, Pennsylvania, defaced Turning Point USA flyers with vulgar and violent messages on April 23 while the chapter tabled with pro-life activist Savannah Craven.University police are investigating after students allegedly wrote comments including “PLEASE SLAP THIS B*TCH AGAIN” on the group’s materials, referencing Craven’s assault during a street interview last year.In an Instagram video posted by Frontline TPUSA, one student told Craven, “I am allowed to disagree with you and I’m allowed to be disrespectful to you in any way that I want.” The same student also said she would have slapped Craven if given the opportunity. TPUSA members later confronted the students involved, who defended both the vandalism and their comments, according to the video.Hostility during conservative tabling events is not uncommon on campus, but TPUSA member Alexis Wieland said this episode was more severe than the chapter usually experiences.”Most times, we are met with our flyers being taken down, being flipped off, or called disgusting names,” Wieland told the Cal Times, the university’s student newspaper. “This encounter was much more intense.”Craven was “brutally assaulted” during a pro-life street interview in April 2024, an incident that was filmed and circulated widely online. Though the case was later dropped, Craven has continued traveling to campuses to speak about pro-life advocacy and free speech concerns. A Leadership Institute event page also describes her campus appearances.TPUSA members argue the students’ actions violated Pennsylvania Western University’s student code of conduct, which prohibits the “intentional, reckless and/or unauthorized damage, destruction or defacement” of another person’s property. Wieland said conservative students often feel the university does not take threats against them seriously.”It is discouraging to continually face persecution on campus with little to no help from the university, besides a stern talking to for those who threaten us or vandalize our property,” Wieland said.
