Schumer, Jeffries Ripped After Tone Deaf Statements on WHCD Shooting

Not surprisingly, the shooting that took place at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner on Saturday night at the Washington Hilton forced the postponement of the event, with President Trump, who was swiftly escorted from the building after the shots were fired, pledging that it will be rescheduled within the next 30 days.

“I have spoken with all the representatives in charge of the event, and we will be rescheduling within 30 days,” Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social, about 45 minutes after the shots rang out.

Not much is known about the suspect (who is in custody) beyond his name and age:

There are unconfirmed reports (as of this writing) that he’s an educator who donated to Kamala Harris’ 2024 presidential campaign:

I don’t think it’s going out on a limb to speculate that this guy was after Trump.

With that in mind, let us turn to the statements from the highest-ranking Democrats in the House and Senate: House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) and Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY). Discerning readers will note that there was no mention of the president’s name from either of them:

That did not go over well with people who not only remember all the vile names Trump has been called over the years but also the fact that funding for the Secret Service, which is part of DHS, is currently being held up by Democrats:

This one pretty much said it all:

Why indeed?
