President Trump Issues Tuesday Deadline For Iran to Open Straits of Hormuz

Trump to Mullahs: Open Hormuz Straits, “or you’ll be living in hell.”

President Donald Trump has given Iran until Tuesday evening to open the Strait of Hormuz or face destruction of its critical infrastructure. “President Trump threatened to destroy all of Iran’s power plants if the country’s leaders don’t agree to reopen the Strait of Hormuz by Tuesday evening, ratcheting up pressure on Tehran,” The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported Sunday.

Speaking to the WSJ, President Trump said, “If they don’t come through, if they want to keep it closed, they’re going to lose every power plant and every other plant they have in the whole country.”

President Trump later posted on Truth Social, without mentioning his ultimatum to the regime: “Tuesday, 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time!”

In a previous post, the president threatened to obliterate the Iranian regime’s infrastructure if it continues to take the world hostage by disrupting the flow of global oil and gas. “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F***kin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH!” he wrote.

“Praise be to Allah,” he concluded.

In an interview with Axios, President Trump confirmed that his administration was “in deep negotiations” with Tehran, and all bets were off if a deal wasn’t reached by Tuesday. “There is a good chance, but if they don’t make a deal, I am blowing up everything over there,” he told the news website on Sunday.

President Trump’s warning comes as Israel resumes its strikes on the regime’s terrorism-linked oil infrastructure. In a recent airstrike, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) eliminated the senior commander of the Islamic Guard’s (IRGC) Oil Headquarters.

“The Israeli Air Force successfully killed Mohammad Reza Ashrafi Kahi, a senior commander in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Oil Headquarters,” the Jerusalem Post reported on Sunday. “The IRGC’s Oil Headquarters generates billions of dollars annually in profits for the Iranian regime’s brutal police force through oil sales.”

The IRGC, the regime’s military arm, uses the oil revenue to finance itself and its proxy terrorist groups. According to the IDF, the slain IRGC commander “managed the commercial operations of the Oil Headquarters, estimated at billions of dollars annually, and advanced the development of the IRGC’s military capabilities, as well as those of the Iranian terror regime’s proxies across the Middle East, foremost among them the Houthi terrorist regime, and the Hezbollah and Hamas terrorist organizations.”

With the war entering its sixth week, Israeli airstrikes continue to degrade the regime’s leadership and its military capabilities.

“Over the past 24 hours, the Israeli Air Force struck more than 120 targets of the Iranian regime in central and western Iran. Targets struck included: ballistic missiles array sites in the IRGC, UAV production and launching sites, and air defense sites,” the IDF disclosed on Sunday. “The dismantled air defense systems constituted a threat to the Israeli Air Force’s fighter jets, and their dismantling contributes to maintaining the Israeli Air Force’s air superiority over Iran.”

“President Trump confirmed that his administration was “in deep negotiations” with Tehran… if they don’t make a deal, I am blowing up everything over there”

Remember the “unconditional surrender” promise? This sounds like a more-inefficient, back-assward approach to the same result.

You would make a lousy negotiator.

Here’s how it’s done. You make outrageous demands and see what happens. Sometimes they work; sometimes you don’t get that but you get more than you might have otherwise. Sometimes you get nothing, but you keep negotiating. Having played Bad Cop©️, now you play Good Cop©️ privately. Nuthin’? Back to Bad Cop.

Now Trump has made a threat OF action (as opposed to a demand FOR action). Here’s the thing – Is he bluffing? Maybe. He really does NOT want to bomb oil production.. If that is destroyed, the world loses significant production capacity for a year or two and oil prices stay up, while also benefiting the Russian economy. Additionally, someone is going to have to feed the Iranian people for a while. So, the Iranians still have leverage in the peculiar form of the Sheriff in Blazing Saddles threatening to shoot.

However, maybe Trump is NOT bluffing. He wants this over before the Midterm elections. He wants the Straits open. The opening of the Straits will offset a lot of the price increase from the loss of Iranian oil, particularly if the Saudis crack their taps open wider, (which I would expect). Additionally, who is the main loser if Iranian oil stops? China. Maybe not such a bad place to be.

Then, there’s this: we’re back to basic negotiations skills #101. Publicly threatening Hell, while negotiating privately. I used to call this, “Don’t make me shoot you. I don’t want to shoot you.” You now have to hope the other guy has the good sense to realize that this is the best place to get off the train.

However, there’s this – never point a gun unless you are willing to pull the trigger. If you don’t pull the trigger when forced, you will lose everything you have worked for as threats will no longer work. So, you are going to have to shoot, and shoot twice if the answer is no. Maybe one or two more days Are you REALLY going to make me do this!? but no more.

Finally: pay zero attention to anything said publicly: that’s just showbiz for the kids in the audience.

FWIW. ( I used to do labor negotiations for a living.)

A deal is very close and Trump is plainly telling the Iranians that this is their last chance. So this is good news.

They would be wise to make a deal. Recent history suggests Trump keeps his word when it comes to delivering the hand of wrath upon the infadels 🏋️

The Iranian mullahs and IRGC commanders are messianic religious zealots. They are not rational. There will be no deal.

How many lines in the sand have we drawn now?

How many missiles, drones, launchers, ships, fuel and ammo dumps, munitions plants, command-and-control centers, etc, etc., did Biden, 0bama, Bush, and Clinton destroy? How many items in that list have Israel and the Trump led US Military destroyed?

Trump keeps giving them opportunities to retain some of their infrastructure and they keep letting those opportunities go by without availing theselves of them. We see before our very eyes what over a millenium of inbreeding mandated by Islam will result in: Stubborn stupidity.

Iran is counting on the US public to get fed up and demand an end. They’ve effectively neutered most of the world who has not joined with us as they did in the past. The Mullahs can pretty much wait them out – those that don’t become the supreme leader.

They might also count on Russia and Chinese intervention on their side. Russia needs them from drones. China needs them for oil. They are already assisting with intelligence,

I’ll be blunt.

I don’t care if the Strait opens or not.

We’ve accomplished our goals, the terrorist supporting mullahs are basically all dead, their military is destroyed, their missile launch sites are effectively gone.

Pack up, go home, and let the EU and China do something to open the Strait, since they’re the ones that actually depend on it.

    Gas is 4.19 now.

If the straight stays closed, gas, will be 5.00+ because 20% of the worlds oil flows through it.

Iran has more leverage now that they did before, choking 20% of the worlds oil supply

The straight stays closed, good luck getting a republican elected in the next ten years.

We don’t get our gas from the Strait!!!!! It’s the f***ing oil companies who are gouging us. Just because world oil prices ar up does not mean our prices should be up but they do it anyway.

        wrong.

Its a world oil market and 20% of it is shut off. Therefore prices go way up.

Plus, we import oil to refine gasoline. We export the oil we produce.

mailman in reply to dwb. | April 6, 2026 at 12:59 am

Fuel prices around the western world are high because countries outsourced their energy security to other parts of the world that are as sketchy as f88k.

America, unlike most other western countries is actually energy independent when it comes to producing its own gas and oil. Imagine what it would be like if you had continued Barry’s policies of closing down the gas and oil industries!

dwb in reply to dwb. | April 6, 2026 at 6:45 am

“America… is actually energy independent when it comes to producing its own gas and oil.”

Again, we import heavy crude to refine gasoline, because we cant refine the light crude we actually produce.

Asia and India get most of their oil from the middle east and Russia. There are few gas/oil deposits there. If there were, China would be all over it.

Anyway, we live in the world we live in, and if gasoline is still 4.20 at the pump in November you will be living in a world run by Democrats.

Why are we even asking?

Asking implies Iran has the leverage to close the straight, or open it.

It is international waters.

Dont ask, its weak.

Carpet bomb them. reduce Larak Island and Qeshm Island to rubble.

More so-called deadlines,.. just kicking the can down the road….From the Good The Bad and The Ugly,…”If you’re gonna shoot,..shoot, Don’t talk”

if europe wont do their job and use military might to stop/destroy their bros

then we must put a huggeee tariff onto europe and if they retaliate in any way against americans /america double our prices to them for oil etc
