Pakistan’s Defense Minister Calls Israel ‘Evil,’ ‘Curse For Humanity’ as Country Hosts U.S.-Iran Talks

Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif called Israel “evil” and a “curse for humanity,” as the country prepares to host negotiations to end the Iran war.

“Israel is evil and a curse for humanity,” Asif wrote in a since-deleted post on X. Accusing the Jewish State of “genocide” and “bloodletting,” he ‘prayed’ that “people who created this cancerous state on Palestinian land to get rid of European jews [sic] burn in hell.”

The vile rant comes as Pakistan poses as a ‘truce mediator’ between the U.S. and Iran. “Asif’s comments came as Islamabad positions itself as a major player in ceasefire talks between the US, Israel, and Iran,” the Jerusalem Post observed.

Israel slammed Pakistan’s Defense Minister and questioned the country’s role as an honest broker in the conflict, The Times of Israel reported:

Israeli leaders denounce Pakistan, which is mediating the US-Iran ceasefire negotiations, after the nuclear-armed country’s defense minister called Israel “evil and a curse for humanity, “cancerous” and “to get rid of European jews.” (…)Responding to Asif, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office says his “call for Israel’s annihilation is outrageous. This is not a statement that can be tolerated from any government, especially not from one that claims to be a neutral arbiter for peace.”Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar condemns Asif’s “these blatant antisemitic blood libels from a government claiming to ‘mediate peace,’” while echoing the Prime Minister’s Office in saying that “calling the Jewish state ‘cancerous’ is effectively calling for its annihilation.”“Israel will defend itself against terrorists who vow its destruction,” says Sa’ar.

In a recent speech, Pakistan’s Defense Minister called upon the Muslim countries to “accept” Israel and India as their “true and eternal enemies.”

He wants Pakistan, a failed Muslim state in South Asia, to act as a counterweight to Israel on the global stage. “Israel’s influence has spread to Europe, the USA, and the Arab world,” Asif warned in his address. “Pakistan now has a significant opportunity to play a leadership role in combating this.”

“Asif also repeated criticism of Israel in a speech to Pakistan’s parliament, saying the Muslim world must recognize India and Israel as its “true and eternal enemies,” and claiming Israel’s influence extends beyond the Middle East,” Israel’s Ynetnews noted Friday.

Pakistan, a country in the grip of Islamic terrorism, is an inconducive place to hold peace talks. A violent mob attacked the U.S. diplomatic mission in Karachi after Iranian dictator, Ali Khamenei, was eliminated in an Israeli strike at the onset of the operation Epic Fury.

“At least nine people have reportedly been killed in clashes outside the US consulate in Karachi, Pakistan, as angry crowds smashed windows, and law enforcement used batons and tear gas to disperse them, officials said,” Germany’s DW TV reported early March.

The government has placed the capital under lockdown ahead of U.S. negotiators’ arrival to prevent renewed unrest. “The streets of Islamabad were on strict lockdown as Pakistan’s capital prepared to play host to historic negotiations between Iran and the US that have dangled the promise of an end to war,” The Guardian (UK) reported Friday.
