King Charles III Gifts Trump a Bell From WWII Sub HMS Trump

“So tonight, Mr President, I am delighted to present to you, as a personal gift, the original bell which hung on the conning tower of your valiant namesake.”

His Majesty King Charles III presented President Donald Trump with one of the most thoughtful gifts.

The king gifted Trump a bell from the World War II submarine HMS Trump:

The first President I had the honour of meeting at the age of 10 in 1959 when he came to Balmoral was President Eisenhower, who had served as Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Forces during World War II at a most critical time in the darkest days of the 20th century. American leadership helped rebuild a shattered continent playing a decisive role as a defender of freedom in Europe. We and I shall never forget that, not least as freedom is again under attack following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Today, our partnerships in NATO and AUKUS deepen our technological and military cooperation and ensure that together we can meet the challenges of an increasingly complex and contested world. And speaking of submarine alliances, there was one particular AUKUS predecessor, launched from a UK shipyard in 1944, that served for the majority of her life, attached to the 4th Submarine Squadron in Australia, playing a critical role during the war in the Pacific. Her name?

HMS Trump. So tonight, Mr President, I am delighted to present to you, as a personal gift, the original bell which hung on the conning tower of your valiant namesake. May it stand as a testimony to our nation’s shared history and shining future.

And should you ever need to get hold of us, just give us a ring. For 250 years, the ingenuity and imagination of the people of the United States have been an inspiration to the world. This land of opportunity has nourished some of humanity’s greatest minds from the industrial age to the space age.

According to The New York Times, HMS Trump belonged to the Royal Navy’s T-class, submarines built before and during WWII.

All the submarines had names beginning with T after HMS Triton, the lead ship.

From the Naval Historical Society of Australia:

HMS Trump, a T (or Trident) class submarine, was laid down at Vickers Armstrong at Barrow-on-Furness on 31 December 1942. Launched 15 months later, Trump commissioned on 5 June 1944, under the command of Commander E.F. Balstone, DSO, Royal Navy. In July 1944, Trump sailed for trials and work up off Scotland and by mid October was ready for war. Her first patrol was carried out in the North Sea; on successful completion of this and after Christmas leave, Trump sailed for the Far East on 12 January 1945, to take part in the final stages of the Pacific war.

On arrival in the Far East, Trump joined the Fourth Submarine Flotilla “mothered’ by the depot ship HMS Adamant, based at Fremantle in Western Australia. The submarine had time to complete four war patrols off Malaya before VJ Day, the last of which was worthy of note, as it contained the final and possibly one of the most remarkable torpedo attacks of the war. Trump (Lieutenant A. Catlow, DSC, RN) accompanied by sister HMS Tiptoe, attacked an escorted enemy convoy of two large ships, northbound from Singapore. In water so shallow that both submarines were forced to bump along the bottom to avoid detection, Trump had to “clock” her bows up to give her torpedoes a chance of running. Both ships were sunk.

The two wrecks were sighted by HMS Adamant when northbound after the war, clearly visible in the shallow water.

Trump’s “kill” was the last ship to be sunk by a British warship in WW II. Altogether Trump sank 10,000 tons of shipping during the war, as well as carrying out many shore bombardments with her deck-mounted 4 inch gun.

What a badass.

Brilliant. Also fitting that the captain of the Trump was named Balstone.

He should ring the bell every time he signs an EO or wins a supreme court ruling, The democrats will be livid. (Of course they are always livid)

He should also bring and use it at his next state of the nation address.

Narcissist-incompetent-dunce, Obama, couldn’t receive a bell, because the U.K. never commissioned the HMS Narcissist and HMS Wanker vessels.

trump wanted to gift the uk the right to bear arms and have a first amendment but a local judge was already rubber stamping the veto

I think a perfect troll from the King would have been to re-gift the IPOD full of Obama’s speeches that Obama gave to the queen.

It works as a back handed insult from the crown in every direction on so many levels.
