Numerous outlets have reported that the Fars news agency, the Iranian state media, said the regime stopped traffic through the Strait of Hormuz after Israel struck Lebanon.
Fars reported that Iran allowed two oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz earlier this morning, but “tankers have been suspended from passing through the Strait of Hormuz after Israeli attacks on Lebanon,” according to CBS News.
The Times of Israel published comments made by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi with Pakistani mediators:
Araghchi “discussed the Zionist regime’s violations of the ceasefire in Iran and Lebanon,” referring to Israel, in a call with the powerful Pakistani military leader Field Marshal Asim Munir, the statement says.Reports from Iranian media and Al Jazeera, citing Iranian officials and well-informed sources, say Tehran was prepared to withdraw from the ceasefire and retaliate over Israel’s bombardments of Lebanon.“Iran will withdraw from the agreement if Israel continues to violate the ceasefire in its attack on Lebanon,” Iran’s Tasnim news agency reports, citing a well-informed source.Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps vows on Telegram to “punish Israel for the atrocities it has committed in Lebanon and violating ceasefire conditions.”
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who participated in the ceasefire talks, also condemned the strikes:
“Violations of ceasefire have been reported at few places across the conflict zone which undermine the spirit of peace process,” Sharif wrote on X. “I earnestly and sincerely urge all parties to exercise restraint and respect the ceasefire for two weeks, as agreed upon, so that diplomacy can take a lead role towards peaceful settlement of the conflict.”
President Donald Trump clarified to PBS that Lebanon was not included in the ceasefire.
“Because of Hezbollah,” Trump answered when asked why he didn’t include Lebanon. “They were not included in the deal. That’ll get taken care of, too. It’s alright.”
Trump also said the Israeli strikes on Lebanon are part of the deal since it’s a “separate skirmish.”
Trump’s remarks back up Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who said last night that the ceasefire did not include the fight against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Hezbollah and Hamas are Iran’s terror proxies in Lebanon and Gaza.

“We will continue striking the Hezbollah terror organization and will utilize every operational opportunity. We will not compromise the security of the residents of northern Israel,” declared Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, the IDF’s chief of staff. “We will continue to strike with determination.”
