Trump Extends Pause on Iranian Energy Strikes to April 6

President Donald Trump announced he extended the pause on Iranian energy strikes for 10 days to April 6.

Trump wrote on Truth Social:

As per Iranian Government request, please let this statement serve to represent that I am pausing the period of Energy Plant destruction by 10 Days to Monday, April 6, 2026, at 8 P.M., Eastern Time. Talks are ongoing and, despite erroneous statements to the contrary by the Fake News Media, and others, they are going very well. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP

On Monday, Trump paused the strikes for five days, which were set to end on Friday, citing “very good talks” with Iran.

Trump claimed the U.S. and Iran had a “major point of agreement.”

Iran has continuously denied that whoever is in charge has spoken with the U.S.:

Iran’s foreign ministry has issued a statement, saying: “We deny what US President Donald Trump said regarding negotiations taking place between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.”Quoted by CBS News, the BBC’s US partner, the foreign ministry adds: “The Islamic Republic of Iran adheres to its position rejecting any type of negotiations before achieving Iran’s goals from the war.”
