Northwestern maintains ‘C’ grade in Anti-Defamation League’s Campus Antisemitism Report CardNorthwestern received a “C” grade from the Anti-Defamation League on its 2026 Campus Antisemitism Report Card on Tuesday. The University received an “F” in the first edition of the grades in 2024 before initially getting bumped up to a “D” in 2025. Following the establishment of the Advisory Council to the President on Jewish Life in March 2025, NU was further bumped up to a “C.”Established following the attacks on Oct. 7, 2023, the grades consider 32 criteria in three categories: “publicly disclosed administrative action,” “campus conduct and climate concerns,” and “Jewish life on campus.” The first two categories are weighted 31.5%, and the third is weighted 27%. An additional 10% weight is given to a “qualitative assessment” of universities’ enforcement of their policies. To determine grades, the ADL surveys universities’ administrators, Jewish students and Jewish professionals about their experiences on campus. They also consult experts — including students, alumni, national leaders of Jewish organizations, professors and former university presidents — about the ADL’s grading approach.
