Massive Explosions Reported as U.S. Drops Bunker Busters on Weapons Hub in Iran’s Isfahan

“The U.S. hit a large ammunition depot in the Iranian city of Isfahan with 2,000-pound bunker buster bombs.”

The U.S. military destroyed a massive Iranian weapons facility near Isfahan, news reports suggest early Tuesday. The strike using bunker-busters caused huge secondary explosions visible for miles, suggesting a direct hit on a major Iranian munitions depot or an underground ‘missile city.’

“The U.S. hit a large ammunition depot in the Iranian city of Isfahan with 2,000-pound bunker buster bombs,” The Wall Street Journal reported, quoting officials. According to the newspaper, a “high volume of bunker busters, or penetrator munitions, were used for the strike.”

President Donald Trump posted an uncaptioned video on Truth Social, showing giant balls of fire and a towering mushroom cloud. “Dramatic footage shared by Donald Trump shows the moment that US forces struck a large ammunition depot in Iran with 2,000lb bunker buster bombs, triggering a huge explosion,” The Independent (UK) reported. “Thick black smoke billowed above the city in the footage shared by the US president on Tuesday.”

Satellite imagery appears to confirm blasts near Isfahan. “Fire-tracking satellites from Nasa suggest the explosions happened near Mount Soffeh, an area believed to have military positions,” the UK daily added.

The massive strike comes after President Trump, on Monday, warned that if a deal isn’t reached soon, the U.S. “will conclude our lovely ‘stay’ in Iran by blowing up and completely obliterating” regime targets, including energy facilities.

Isfahan, Iran’s third-largest city, hosts the regime’s key nuclear weapons and military facilities. “U.S. strikes hit a city Tuesday that is home to one of Iran’s main nuclear sites, sending a massive fireball into the sky,” The Washington Post reported.

While Isfahan is home to Iran’s nuclear weapons site, it is unclear whether it was the intended target. As we reported last Tuesday, the Israeli Air Force carried out a strike on Iran’s main weapons production facility in the city.

The Iranian missile cities, built by carving up mountains and reinforced with concrete, have been regarded as impenetrable to conventional airstrikes. In recent years, the regime has been ‘unveiling‘ these underground cities on the state TV, boasting of its “growing military prowess” and “readiness” to strike at its enemies.

In March 2025, the Jerusalem Post reported how Iran’s military chief, Mohammad Bagheri, inspected one such site. Months later, Bagheri was eliminated in an Israeli strike during the 12-Day War.

“Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, and Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the IRGC Aerospace Forces were filmed traveling through the facility lined with hundreds of missiles,” the Israeli newspaper reported. “The footage also revealed Bagheri stepping on an Israeli flag placed on the ground of the facility.”

Israel hits regime targets in Iran, strikes Hezbollah in Beirut

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), on Tuesday morning, confirmed conducting strikes in Iran.

“Overnight, the IDF completed another wave of strikes against weapon production sites in Tehran,” the Israeli military said. “The Israeli Air Force, acting on IDF Intelligence, completed an additional wave of strikes against Iranian terror regime infrastructure.”

The targets included, a “facility used for casting and filling ballistic missile warheads,” and a “ballistic missiles component research and development site,” the IDF revealed.

On Tuesday morning, the Israeli Air Force initiated strikes on Hezbollah terrorist targets. “The IDF has begun to strike Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure in Beirut,” the military disclosed in a brief statement.

Surely by now between Mossad, the CIA and local informants, we know where all the storage facilities are. Stop talking. Keep bombing.

This is like retraining a dog.
Every time Iran negotiators slow down to their old stalling game, something blows up.
“Gee, Barry and Joe never did that!”
That’s because they weren’t alpha dogs, Omar.

An operation carried out by aircraft that were built before most of us were born and will still be in service after most of us are dead.

That there is any opposition to throwing this absolutely evil regime upon the dustbin of history is staggering to me. If you cannot put aside your irrational hatred of Donald Trump long enough to liberate a nation from the forty years of hell they’ve been through then you’re no better than the mullahs.

Get it done, Mr. President, and put an end to the barking in the other room.
