Israel eliminated the Iranian Supreme Leader’s newly-appointed Military Office Chief, Abu al-Qassem Baba’iyan, the military announced Sunday evening.
“The Israel Defense Forces said on Sunday that it eliminated Abu al-Qassem Baba’iyan in an airstrike in Tehran, describing him as the head of the military office of Iran’s Supreme Leader and a senior figure involved in coordinating military activity against Israel,” the Israeli TV channel i24NEWS reported.
Baba’iyan, who was elevated to the prominent military position following the elimination of his predecessor, Mohammad Shirazi, in the opening strike of the Operation Rising Lion, was “responsible for coordinating between the Iranian terror regime’s various force employment organizations to execute operations against the State of Israel and emergency operations,” the IDF said in statement.
“The strike is part of what the IDF described as a broader campaign targeting senior figures in Iran’s leadership structure since the start of Operation Roaring Lion,” the i24NEWS noted.
The slain military official was playing a key role in Iran’s war-time operations. “Additionally, Baba’iyan was appointed Chief of Staff of the emergency Headquarters after his predecessor, Ali Shadmani, was eliminated during Operation Rising Lion,” the IDF said.
The Israeli military released more details of the Saturday night strike that eliminated three senior commanders of the Iranian Islamic Guards’ Quds Forces.
“Overnight, the Israeli Navy, directed by precise IDF intelligence, conducted a precise strike in Beirut, Lebanon, targeting five commanders from the IRGC’s Lebanon Corps and Palestine Corps while they were meeting at a hotel in Beirut,” the IDF said in statement Sunday evening.
The Qud Force’s Lebanon Corp serves as a link between the Iranian regime and its Lebanese proxy terrorist group Hezbollah.
“The Quds Force’s Lebanon Corps serves as a central liaison between the Hezbollah terrorist organization and the Iranian terrorist regime. Its senior officials synchronize activities across the various terrorist organizations operating in Lebanon,” the IDF said. “The commanders eliminated in the strike were advancing terrorist activity across Lebanon while hiding in a civilian hotel.”

Majid Hassini, a senior moneyman in the Lebanon Corps, who the IDF says was responsible for transferring funds from Iran to proxy groups in Lebanon, including Hezbollah and Hamas.Ali Reza Bi-Azar, chief of intelligence in the Lebanon Corps.Ahmad Rasouli, chief of intelligence in the Palestine Corps.
Last week, an Israeli airstrike eliminated the chief of the Quds’ Lebanon Corps, Daoud Ali Zadeh.
The elimination of these senior terrorist commander “constitutes a significant and necessary blow to the Iranian presence in Lebanon and to the Hezbollah terrorist organization,” the IDF disclosed.
