Democrats Block ‘Women’s History Museum’ Bill Because It Excludes Men
The Equality Caucus criticized the amendment as a “poisoned, partisan pony show.”
House Democrats blocked legislation to establish a “Women’s History Museum” because of an amendment requiring the new institution to only honor real women, not gender-confused men.
“The Museum shall be dedicated to preserving, researching, and presenting the history, achievements, and lived experiences of biological women in the United States,” the bill states.
The legislation forbade the museum from depicting a “biological male as female.”
This drew the ire of members of the House Administration Committee, which considered the legislation yesterday, according to Representative Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY).

The Equality Caucus criticized the amendment as a “poisoned, partisan pony show” and also criticized language that would grant the Trump administration authority to choose the location of the newest Smithsonian museum.
“Republicans on the Committee on House Administration couldn’t resist poisoning the bill with an anti-trans rider and a provision giving Trump unilateral control over the building’s location,” Rep. Mark Takano (D-CA) complained in a news release.
“Let me be clear: the Museum should highlight the experiences of all women, including transgender women,” Takano said.
Meanwhile, conservative commentators piled on with glee at the Democrats’ latest embarrassing foray into identity politics.
The bill “passed out of committee, BUT only along party lines after an amendment was added to ensure it honors real women, not men identifying as women,” Riley Gaines wrote on X. “Yes, that’s where the debate is in 2026.”

“These people are absurd. It really shows you their hearts,” Penny Nance wrote.
“We don’t want a museum if it’s going to be a boondoggle for identity politics,” the CEO of Concerned Women for America said. (Point of order: It inevitably would have been an identity politics boondoggle with or without the amendment.)

Good! I don’t want my damn tax dollars paying for a woke symbolic Women’s History Museum – real women or not. You have lost the plot. Honor women as appropriate and deserved in existing venues. By your logic a Tranny History Museum would be just fine if it didn’t exclude straights.
I’d vote against this museum as well.
Not because women aren’t wonderful (they are, with some wildly toxic exceptions that also apply to men).
Not because they haven’t played a critical role in the formation and preservation of this nation (they have, witness Abigail Adams, Mercy Otis Warren, etc.)
Not because museums aren’t cool (they are, you can spend days walking the Mall in DC).
The reason I’m against this museum is that it continues to foment the balkanization of America.
The accomplishments of women are just that accomplishments. Their fruits are enjoyed by all, not just by those of the gender/race/religion, etc of the person who made the accomplishment.
And if you think that a “transgendered woman” is a woman, you don’t need a museum, you need strong antipsychotic medications and years of psychotherapy.
Or at least enroll in Basic Human Anatomy 101.
Men who pretend to be women are not women and I’m tired of tolerating those who believe this. It’s stupid, perverse and wrong.

I would vote against all class-disordered (e.g. racist) affirmative actions. However, the binary sexes: male and female are both a natural and fit state of humanity and their acknowledgment separately and complementary has a redeeming value to society.
All homos, believed to transition near viability at six weeks, are trans, Not all trans are homo. The effort to socially distances sims from homos through banner and rhetoric is a milestone in political congruence (“=”), similar to equating couples and couplets, worse than hiding behind the scientific term-of-art “fetus”, under Diversity (i.e. color judgment, class bigotry) ideology of the Pro-Choice ethical religion. I disagree with the why of blocking such a museum. But I see no need for the museum in the first place.
I wonder how many of the previously named museums have admitted transes, and if that was the impetus here?
