This is adherence to a US enemy, which is one of the two forms of treason that the constitution recognizes. Now he can’t be charged with treason because the constitution requires this adherence to be expressed by an overt act that gives the enemy aid and comfort, and all he’s done is talk. But it’s not the aid and comfort that is the treason, that’s just how the treason must be expressed to support charges. It’s the adherence itself that is the actual treason, and that he has clearly done.
