Cuba Confirms Regime has ‘Held Talks’ With Trump Admin

Cuban dictator Miguel Díaz-Canel: “These conversations have been aimed at seeking solutions, through dialogue, to bilateral differences that exist between the two nations.”

Cuban dictator Miguel Díaz-Canel has recently held talks with representatives from President Donald Trump’s administration, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla wrote on X.

Parrilla posted a readout from Díaz-Canel, which included:

These conversations have been aimed at seeking solutions, through dialogue, to bilateral differences that exist between the two nations. There are international factors that have facilitated these exchanges.

The purpose of these discussions is, first of all, to identify bilateral issues that require solutions based on theie seriousness and impact, and, on the other hand, to find solutions to the problems that have been identified.

Furthermore, the objective is to determine the willingness of both parties to undertake concrete actions for the benefit of the peoples of both countries. In addition, it is intended to identify areas of cooperation in order to address threats and ensure the security and peace of both nations, as well as in the region where we live and develop our lives, namely Latin America and the Caribbean.

“During the exchanges that have taken place, the Cuban side has expressed its willingness to carry out this process on the basis of equality and respect for the political systems of both States, as well as for the sovereignty and self-determination of our Government,” the readout concluded. “This has been stated taking into account a sense of reciprocity and adherence to international law.”

Don’t get your hopes up, though.

Díaz-Canel warned it’s a “sensitive process” that both sides conduct “with seriousness and responsibility.”

In other words, the negotiations will take time.

Also, do you think Cuba will ever relent, no matter how bad the conditions worsen on the island?

As long as those in charge can still live in luxury and have access to basic needs, I doubt anything will change.

Life has gone even more downhill since January, when the administration slapped an oil blockade on Cuba after the military captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

Venezuela provided Cuba with the majority of its oil and has always been a key ally.

massive blackout hit Havana and western Cuba as the oil supply dried up and the electric grid continued to fail.

The regime blamed the blackout “on a broken boiler at a thermoelectric plant that forced the shutdown of Cuba’s power grid.”

Those thermoelectric plants have been working for over 30 years. They hardly receive any maintenance due to the high costs.

Of course, the Communists claimed the U.S. sanctions have hindered any work because the regime cannot buy “new equipment and specialized parts.”

Doctors have had to reschedule thousands of surgeries while communications, education services, and transportation have gone down.

Over 115 bakeries in Cuba now use firewood or coal.

The regime scurried to install 955 solar panels on homes and social centers. Officials hope even more “will come online before the end of March that will add 100 megawatts to Cuba’s crumbling electric grid.”

Díaz-Canel stated the obvious: “Even with everything we’re putting together, we still need oil.”

It would be best to
Be able to have Cuba a non communist friendly country

Their cars alone would be worth millions

No. Most of those cars will be (are) worthless, even more so in an open market economy.

The value in those cars will be the ingenuity to keep them running for 60 years. There will be a market for them, for sure.

I can already hear the whispers of wailing and gnashing of teeth on the Left as they despair over the demise of their beloved Communist Cuba.

The vile, stupid and evil Dhimmi-crats always believed that communist despotism and Cuba’s citizens living impoverished, oppressed and miserable lives, were small prices to pay, to achieve Cuba’s “free” healthcare and near-universal literacy.

    Canada hardest hit.

translated…we have been in talks for our surrender.

“Don’t get your hopes up, though.”

We get cigars and rum, they get parts for mid century Chevys.

Deal.

Where does The Donald sign?

Canadian Tourists Hardest Hit

In a little more than one year in office, #47 and his cabinet have done exponentially more to advance and support the cause of liberty, worldwide, and to confront evil despotism and totalitarianism, than the last three, utterly dim-witted, gullible, naive, stupid, feckless, incompetent and destructive Dhimmi-crat presidents have, over their wretched, collective twenty years in office.

I agree. I have – against my better judgment – been over at X. I find it both amazing and frightening the level of paranoia about Trump from both the left and right. He’s Putin’s puppet, Israel controls him, Israel controls congress, blargle blargle blah blah. He started a war at the orders of Israel.

I reply that no, Trump is FINISHING the war Iran started in 1979 that the spineless Carter did not finish when he had the chance.

People want to forget that by the international law the left keeps harping on Iran declared war on our country when they bombed and took over our embassy which is sovereign territory. Iran hasn’t stopped killing Americans since and its well past time we paid them back in bombs not bucks on the tarmac.

everyone loves capitalism
some only will admit to it in private

destroycommunism | March 13, 2026 at 12:49 pm

there is little benefit for the usa or I should say more wayyy more benefit for cuba in these deals

unless of course after 2028 DJT can become el presidente of cuba and

mcga!!

and the tds would increase 10000x fold!

There a lot of good that would happen for the Cubans and Americans

Not having a communist port for one

destroycommunism in reply to gonzotx. | March 13, 2026 at 4:39 pm

we could destroy any patrols they have in “their” ports

and would have the right to destroy them if they block our way

we choose not to do so and as maga,,not sure why

Right now it is more likely easier to negotiate with communist Cuba than Senate Democrats.

Cuba would make the ultimate 51st state – be voting Republican forever.

Socialist Cuba has finally run out of other people’s money
