American Bar Association has ‘100% Opposition Rate’ To Trump
The American Bar Association has a deep-seated bias against Trump and conservatives, a new study proves.
A new study is adding further evidence to claims of left-wing bias at the American Bar Association.
America First Legal reviewed every amicus brief filed by the ABA since April 2016 and found that the group always sided against President Trump. Furthermore, the bar association has never taken a conservative stance in any of its amicus briefs.
“AFL’s examination of the ABA’s amicus brief program, which includes 87 briefs filed from April 2016 to February 2026, reveals that 80% of the organization’s filings advocated for liberal or progressive outcomes,” the conservative legal group revealed in a statement.
The political advocacy strays from the bar association’s stated mission to intervene only in cases that directly concern the legal profession. The Amicus Curiae Committee’s own bylaws require briefs to have “special significance to lawyers or the legal profession.” However, the rules also allow submissions when there is a “compelling public interest,” meaning whatever the liberal interests of ABA leadership are.
America First Legal concluded “only 21% of the ABA’s briefs concerned matters directly related to the legal profession, the stated justification for the brief-writing program.”
The bar association could not hold back from weighing in on immigration enforcement cases, “which accounted for 15% of all briefs filed, more than any ABA mission-related category.”
As could be expected, the ABA also filed amicus briefs in support of LGBT issues, abortion, and restrictions on gun rights.
“The ABA is not a neutral arbiter and should be treated no differently than any other liberal advocacy group,” Gene Hamilton, president of America First Legal, stated.
We need a conservative alternative to break this progressive monopoly over our legal system. The ABA can even disbar certain judges for violating transgender ideology policies. https://t.co/kVWGACeWJ9

For years, the American Bar Association has faced criticism for acting as a left-wing advocacy group rather than merely upholding legal standards.
In 2001, President George W. Bush stripped the bar association of its special privileges in evaluating judicial nominees. For 50 years, the ABA would receive advance notice of nominations from presidents, allowing it to be the first out of the gate with its analysis, as Ed Whelan wrote on his Substack.
President Obama restored this privilege, which President Trump then took away in his first term. Biden kept Trump’s policy in place.
Others have criticized the consequential role the American Bar plays in accrediting law schools, often having a monopoly in each state.
Legal Insurrection founder William Jacobson has argued for years that the group should lose its monopoly on accreditation.
“Legal education is about to undergo a revolutionary change, with the American Bar Association poised to mandate race-focused study as a prerequisite to graduating from law school,” Jacobson warned in 2022. “It’s another instance of woke ideology being forced on the nation, and may necessitate that states revisit the ABA’s government-granted near-monopoly accrediting power.”

American Bar?
Maybe they should exercise some moderation in moderation….
The American Bar. What is it good for, exactly?
Bar, who What is it good for, absolutely nuttin.
I think we should follow the great Shakespeare in his ” k@ll the lawyers”
That wasn’t Shakespeare, it was the words he gave his villain, Dick the Butcher, who represents the Democrats of his day. The whole point of the line was that this was something would-be tyrants would do, so the lawyers wouldn’t be around to stop them. “If we want to enslave the people, first we have to get rid of the lawyers, and then they’ll be defenseless”. So Dick’s “kill the lawyers” was the equivalent of today’s Democrats saying “The first thing we do, let’s confiscate all the guns”. We know where that would lead, because we’ve seen it in other countries.
How did the American Bar turned into American H8ers?
Rare exceptions exist of course, but every attorney I’ve ever known personally is a sh*tlib. The more “victims” to sue over the better, and to society’s detriment. They’re sh*tlibs because it pays to be one.
We can thank “me too,” for example, for much of the current sad state between men and women in the workplace.
This site is run by an attorney.
They didn’t. They don’t hate America, it’s just that they and the teacher unions have found that by controlling the Democrat Party they can boost their incomes at the public expense. They want to keep the Democrats in power by whatever means they can, because when Republicans have power they don’t get the legislation they want, and their income suffers. It’s all about their private interests, and that America suffers from their parasitism is just an unintended consequence. They don’t hate us, they just don’t care.
Trump should go after the credentialing entities. The entities that determine who gets to be a teacher, doctor, lawyer, etc are all ideologically captured by marxists.
Such disgraceful and institutional Dhimmi-crat political bias, spite and vindictiveness. And, the American Medical Association, as well as myriad other prominently politically one-sided professional organizations, are no better than the ABA and are just as corrupted and disgraceful.
Lawyers suck the blood out of their clients, then run for Congress for an even bigger leech fest.
Let’s clarify your statement to be more precise. Dhimmi-crat attorneys may do that. There are plenty of conservative attorneys, out there. Professor Jacobson and the attorneys at the Equal Protection Project represent just a few of them.
And those of us who are conservative lawyers, who aren’t members of the ABA among other organizations, feel so welcomed by such comments. Is it your position that Clarence Thomas sucks the lifeblood out of his clients? How about Antonin Scalia? Our benefactor, Mr. Jacobson? Please engage your brain, before posting such drivel.
No organization is 100% on anything unless there is coercion happening.
I’d posit that it’s less about coercion, and more about lemming-like groupthink and ideological conformity, born largely of genuine ideological fealty to leftist/Dhimmi-crat principles and ethos.
All the rational/conservative/non-leftist attorneys have fled the ABA and other professional orgs, so, the people who remain are indeed “true believers.”
The Bar Assoc can hold your career in their hands. They don’t even have to do anything as overt as sanctions to hurt you a lot.
“Birds of a feather” isn’t a saying for nothing.
Two thoughts come to mind:
1) If I need lawyer make sure they aren’t an ABA member.
2) All judicial nominations proposed by Trump should be ABA rejected.
Looks like quite a few lawyers don’t want half the country as clients. Hmmm if I ran a company I would make sure my lawyers weren’t members. No use feeding the other side that hates me already.
They need the other half of the country to sue.
ABA gave Trump its badge of honor!
considering these people have made it possible to rubber stamp blmplo types to law degrees
not surprised at all
