Protesting ICE is the new, hot activity on campus. Everyone is doing it.

Campus Reform reports:

University of Minnesota arrests 67 at hotel protest, leftist student group slams school

Dozens of protesters were recently arrested at a Minnesota immigration protest, sparking outrage from leftists on campus.

The University of Minnesota arrested 67 protesters demonstrating against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) outside of the Graduate hotel for unlawful assembly, according to KARE, the local NBC affiliate.

The local CBS affiliate also aired footage of the event, reporting that demonstrators were “making noise to make a point” as a way of protesting ICE agents they believed to be staying at the hotel. Videos show protesters banging pots and pans, loudly playing musical instruments, shouting through megaphones, and more.

”The University and UMPD, as part of our mission, support the right to engage in peaceful protest and are committed to the safety of our campus community,” the school wrote in an email, according to KARE.

The school’s chapter of Students for a Democratic Society, however, blasted the school and authorities in a series of Instagram posts, calling on them to “LET THE GRADUATE PROTESTERS THE F*** OUT.”

The group characterized the ordeal as a “peaceful noise demonstration” and took aim at the various law enforcement agencies responsible for the arrests, lamenting that they are “helmed and directed by Democrats or Democrat appointees, who are meant to work with the people of Minnesota against the tyranny and violence of the federal government.”

“We in the anti-ICE movement must recognize that all law enforcement agencies, whether they be campus, state, or federal, share an ideological solidarity with one another, and will defend one another every chance they get – pigs, in essence, are pigs, no matter which specific badge they wear,” the group wrote. “They are all the enemies of the people.”

Following the arrests, the group hosted a “Support Rally” and called on individuals to contact various school, county, and city officials and recite a script demanding the charges be dropped.

Oxymoronic? Or just moronic?

Getting arrested is no big deal. This is just PR. Nobody gets charged. Nobody goes to jail.
