Ohio University Students Stage Walkout to Protest ICE

It’s all just about the current thing. If these students weren’t protesting ICE, it’d be something else.

Ohio University students stage anti-ICE protest, follow Minnesota ‘call to action’
Students at Ohio University recently held a demonstration against federal immigration law enforcement.
The school’s Ohio Students Association (OSA) staged a walkout and rally on Jan. 23 to protest recent actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, drawing in nearly 1,000 student participants according to a post on the group’s Instagram page.
The event was held “in solidarity with Minneapolis’s Day of Truth and Freedom,” and was a part of OSA’s “NO ICE IN ATHENS” campaign.
“(Friday’s) walkout and rally is a response to the call to action from organizers in Minnesota,” OSA President Cami Jackson told The Post. “We’re standing in solidarity and support of the work they’re doing to fight ICE in the neighborhoods.”
The protest comes in the wake of the death of Renee Good, who was shot and killed after striking an ICE agent with her vehicle in Minneapolis.
The organizers distributed “Know Your Rights Cards” during the protest, which individuals are instructed to hand over to a law enforcement officer and remain silent, according to The National Immigration Law Center.
OSA circulated a petition at the event, which was posted online as well. In it, the group articulated its reasons for the protest and listed a number of demands.
The petition demanded the school “Publicly state ICE is not welcome on campus,” “Refuse all data sharing with ICE that is not legally mandated,” “Deny ICE entry to campus buildings,” and more.
It also asked the school to “Refuse to sign the 287(g) agreement,” which would allow “ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) to partner with state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies to identify and remove criminal aliens.”

Who cares if College Students “walk out”?
It’s not like their affecting anything by doing so, except maybe hindering traffic or something.
Basically it’s “their loss”
It’s almost as if college doesn’t make people smarter or more educated, just indoctrinates them and makes them self important…hmm…
There was a coffee shop in my neighborhood which shut down to support solidarity. My coffee shop, it turns out, was incredibly busy that day. So I wonder how many people are going to decide to use my coffee shop from now on. As my dad taught us, the number one rule in business is to never let your customer discover your competition.
If the instructors weren’t (nearly) all leftists, their response should be: “Your walkout will be considered formal withdrawal from the course. Your final grades have been registered., including zeroes for assignments and exams scheduled between now and Finals Week.”
Or
“Today’s exam will be 100% based on what I covered in last Friday’s lecture.”
“Stage” is correct.
