High School Student Protesting ICE Runs in Front of Car With Trump Flag, Gets Hit

High School Student Protesting ICE Runs in Front of Car With Trump Flag, Gets Hit

“I don’t feel that any of the young people that were involved know enough about what’s going on to do or set up a protest because I feel they don’t know what they’re protesting.”

A high school student in Nebraska was part of an anti-ICE protest when she ran in front of a car with a Trump flag on it and got hit.

The protest was not sanctioned by the school, and the girl’s mother is furious. I don’t blame her.

WOWT News reports:

Mother upset with Fremont High School after student hit by SUV during protest

The mother of a Fremont High School student who was struck by an SUV during a student protest said she is angry with school officials and believes they should have prevented the demonstration.

The student was hit by a red SUV while participating in an anti-ICE protest outside the school. She is now recovering at home with bumps and bruises.

“I think it mostly got me in my legs because my knees is what’s really bugging me right now,” the student said. “All I remember is that it was red.”

The girl’s mother said the incident should never have happened and that students were not informed enough to organize such a protest.

“First of all, I don’t feel she’s informed enough to have made a decision like the one that she made by doing a protest,” the mother said. “I don’t feel that any of the young people that were involved know enough about what’s going on to do or set up a protest because I feel they don’t know what they’re protesting.”

The mother believes Fremont High School bears responsibility for the incident, pointing to the fact that her daughter was allowed to make protest materials during class time.

“My daughter was allowed to make her poster in class, in school, to career class,” she said. “Where are the teachers and why weren’t they paying more attention to what these kids were doing?”

Watch:

Why do people on the left think they can win a fight with a car?

In 2016, after Trump’s first win, a group of students at UC-San Diego decided to take over a highway in protest. A young woman was hit by a car. She is now permanently disabled and has lost every single lawsuit. Her life is completely ruined. I wrote about it for the Washington Free Beacon in 2019 and you can read her story here.

The left will cheer as you put your body at risk, but they won’t be there when you have a smashed pelvis, or worse.

This is also no longer limited to high school kids.

Young children, who should have nothing to do with this issue or any conversations about it, are being pulled into protests by the left.

A father in Washington State was recently outraged to learn that his son had been brought to a protest by his school without the father’s consent. Language warning.

The lack of concern for the well-being of children by the left is really sickening. They’re so desperate that they’ll indoctrinate your kids and use them as cannon fodder.

I was taught while I was still in kindergarten to not run out into the road. I was also instructed that getting hit by a train was a very bad idea

I have to say, that for a pretty soft body, that was a rather inelastic collision.

And mom needs to step up here and take some responsibility for her child being an idiot. I suspect most of us here knew by age 6 to not run in front of cars.

      diver64 in reply to MajorWood. | February 5, 2026 at 6:04 am

The only way the school could be liable is if they allowed the students to leave or didn’t take any action to prevent it or if it can be proven teachers provoked and instructed the students to do it.

Be a pity if someone started going through the Twitter history of the teachers organising the brain washing of these children.

Teachers: Transing your kids without telling you is part of our job.
Teachers: Propagandizing your kids with our politics is part of our job.

When it comes time to prosecute those teachers for these accidents, how will the tune change?

This article is confusing. Did the school sanction it or not? The school can say they didn’t but they won’t be able to distance themselves from an employee (the teacher) so easily if that teacher did in fact organize it. This is basically the Oberlin problem and why they lost in court. It goes doubly so because the teacher is in charge of minors.

I also bet Mom has gone around and scrubbed all of her family’s social media history before making this statement.

It is an important factor as to “what and how” she has informed her daughter about the politics surrounding this protest. She may be complicit or it could truly be a situation where the school did this without parental involvement.

It was not organized by the school. The district treated the walkout as a violation of attendance policies. Students who participated were marked with unexcused absences.

AFTER the flying lesson. Change my mind.

After your first flying lesson, it is completely normal to feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or even to have second thoughts. However, that initial “feeling like you’re going to pee your pants” often turns into confidence, and most people who stick with it find it incredibly exhilarating.

henrybowman in reply to Paula. | February 4, 2026 at 11:10 pm

In our family, the phrase “flying lesson” has a distinctly different connotation… similar to the “swimming test” our packrats uniformly fail.

healthguyfsu in reply to Paula. | February 4, 2026 at 5:52 pm

That’s good to hear but the law doesn’t absolve them in that case unless they can demonstrate that the teacher went rogue. Otherwise, her lawyers will point to an employee in a position of authority over her daughter that either encouraged or persuaded her teenage daughter to do it. (Caveat. The teachers did not know she made the poster or what it was about? In which case what were they doing other than their job?)

MajorWood in reply to healthguyfsu. | February 4, 2026 at 10:05 pm

Did she make her poster with school provided supplies on school property, and even better, under the direction of a teacher as an assignment? Lee Plakas to the white courtesy phone.

The UCSD case is different because the school has no duty to inform a legal adult of the dangers of playing in traffic.

Mr. LaChance nailed it. The left is training and using these kids (and the Pretti-like adults) as cannon fodder.

Communists use people as cannon fodder while protecting themselves and theirs mostly. In fact they want deaths to use for propaganda purposes. So do Muslims for that matter. After all you cant make an omelet without breaking a few eggs.

She didn’t even get hit.

SHE hit the car.

I agree with the mom’s sentiments.
But, I would also sue the school for failing teach/reinforce an elementary school concept of “Don’t play in traffic.”

Hopefully her kid has learned that her teachers are idiots who do not have her best interest at heart. That would be the best lesson.

Head line needs a little work:

“High School Student Protesting ICE Runs in Front of Car With Trump Flag, Gets Hit”

Why was she carrying a flag…….?

oh…”Car with Trump Flag” not student. Chatgbt can be your friend

High School Student Protesting ICE Is Hit After Running in Front of Car With Trump Flag

So did she attack the car because it had a Trump Flag? How much damage is done to the car?

henrybowman in reply to MarkSmith. | February 4, 2026 at 5:17 pm

No, but a guy behind the car ripped off the flag just after she got hit.

Kinda looked like a charging hippo to me. Didn’t work out for her and I’m glad she is ok but at the very least kids should be instructed that “protesting” doesn’t make them vehicle proof no matter what they see on the internet

the trachers want to be friends with the cirminals these days

used to be the teachers pet was the top students

NOW the teachers pets are who they can f and get away with it
the students who oppose americas exceptionalism …they’re the leftists teachers heros

the school might not have *officially* sanctioned the rioters-in-training…but we know the reality is that if its the typical school…they are getting extra credit for it all

destroycommunism | February 4, 2026 at 3:01 pm

start outing the teachers who promote anti americanism

I dont mean having a differing opinion on their own time but teach dei etc

It is clear this student needs to go to a much better school that will teach basic education and not indoctrination. The parents need to sue the teachers, the school admin, the school board individually, and the school administer for allowing this to happen instead of providing education classes.

Granting that I am ancient; but I learned when young that their were real consequences to actions. Not only political consequences but physical ones. Kids today seem never to have learned that. So we get incidents like this.

I was about to write that nobody is THAT old, then I remembered my mother (very recently deceased) DID live through both Roosevelt AND Wilson, so I’ll leave it as a mere paralipsis.

The left has been eagerly transforming the USA into a consequence-free country for a century. Welfare for the people who piss away their free government educations. Social Security for the people who can’t grasp frugality. Social promotions for the kids who can’t master the material. Early release for the thugs who “find Jesus” in prison. Narcan caches in the defibrillator cabinets of public buildings.
Hard times make good men — good times make soft men.

CommoChief in reply to henrybowman. | February 4, 2026 at 7:04 pm

I’d argue Gen X was still subject to consequences. Metal playground equipment scorching hot in summer sun and very unforgiving for a slip. My brand new elementary school had telephone pole supports for taller stuff and RR ties for shorter things with hard packed dirt to land on if we fell off. No ‘gentle parenting’ or attempts to shield us from harsh reality,

We were largely latch key kids unsupervised after school till Mom/Dad got home after work and running wild in the summer. Roamed loose in the streets and if we got hurt we had to suck it up, rub some dirt on it and be home before the street lights came on. We benefited from bullying at school learned to stand up for ourselves and fight back. Lose a fight? Parents made us have a rematch until we won. Still had summer jobs and year round chores to earn our keep and pocket money for gas and dates.

I was talking with a buddy about the homeless problem which now infects every neighborhood in Portland, and I realized that we didn’t have this issue when growing up because most of fathers had killed A LOT of people in WWII and therefore weren’t too squeemish about letting those people know that they weren’t wanted.

CommoChief in reply to MajorWood. | February 4, 2026 at 10:48 pm

I seem to recall reports of homeless encampments and the ‘authorities’ wringing their hands refusing to act. Then a few months later there were reports of some arsonist literally dousing their pallet wood/tent encampments in gas and torching them. I don’t recall anyone being ID as the arsonist and next thing you know reports of homeless encampments and aggressive homeless folks kinda dissipated. I want to say this was late 80s or early 90s.

My Dad was a cop in Birmingham and they would put the vagrants on a greyhound with a ticket paid through to Chicago back in the day. I didn’t get the impression there was any choice offered. My Grandfather was a RR ‘Detective’ for L&N and I made the mistake of asking how they handled hobo/vagrants and thieves in the 20s, 30s (he became a land agent post WWII) and the solutions they imposed were…vigorous.

Fremont, NE just cited 6 people a few minors for mischif and theft, as well as the driver for leaving the scene, and the student struck for being in the street.

another day, another Trump supporter reminds us that political violence is the MAGA way, not the common actions of “the left” that conservatives keep desperately trying to portray it as.

On Thursday, a student in Fremont, Nebraska, was struck by a vehicle carrying a pro-Trump flag while she was taking part in an anti-ICE protest outside of Fremont High School.

that sums up the way its being reported around the country

Wow! The stupidity! The schools and teachers should be sued and decertified for child endangerment and failing in their duty of care.
Any education professional who does stuff like this should not be allowed near kids.

The incident at Fremont High where a girl got hit by an SUV is, and should be, a teaching moment – Fremont High is supposed to be an institution for teaching right? Just place yourself in the shoes of an ICE/CBP agent facing Renee Good in an accelerating SUV. He might indeed have feared for his life and those in the vicinity.

Parent who sends daughter to a government school is surprised and outraged to find her daughter has been brainwashed into risking her life for a lie.

“Why do people on the left think they can win a fight with a car?”

Uh, likely on the same errant reasoning that they can bring a car to a gun fight with ICE.

Is this the newest Tik Tok Challenge?
