Many teachers and administrators across the country are allowing students to participate in anti-ICE walkout protests … which just happens to align with the official stance of some teachers’ union affiliates.
If you’re an educator with the opposite view on the subject, however, you might want to be careful.
As noted the end of last month by The College Fix, a teacher who simply wrote “Go ICE” on a social media page about immigration activities was ripped by the town’s mayor, who then encouraged the community to protest the teacher.
That teacher, identified as a 14-year veteran elementary phys. ed. instructor, had been placed on leave pending an investigation. ABC-7 reports he officially resigned last week due to the backlash over his comment.
According to a GoFundMe set up for the teacher, “a misleading portrayal” and “false narrative” fomented in part by Mayor Daniel Bovey and State Senator Karina Villa led to a characterization “that could not be further from who [the teacher] truly is.”

More proof that there is no longer even the remotest possibility of reconciliation between right and left in this country. Civil war is inevitable.
Rusty Bill, we have been in a civil war for decades. The left is winning because the right will not recognize it and will not fight back. This midterm will probably decide if the Republican Party and conservatives survive or the Democrat-Socialist (communist) Party is established as the permanent ruling party. Survival is at stake!
And the victory will go to whomever can get the craziest. The Left is clearly winning that race at the moment, but they lack the firepower it would take to utterly destroy the conservative opposition outside of their blue enclaves. Once killings of their accessible enemies reach a certain level though it will probably stimulate self protective vigilantism to take out their leadership in return. And well motivated conservatives are much better shots. The other possibility is that the Left will simply stimulate the ascent of the reactionary fascist movement they claim to be fighting, and history suggests that once that has happened things tend to go poorly for them, and ultimately for everyone.
Why do people in this position resign? My reaction would have been “No, I will not resign. If you want me gone you’ll have to fire me, and then I will sue you.”
