Drake University Mandates Coursework in Equity and Inclusion
“The equity and inclusion requirement is embedded within Drake’s broader curriculum and must be fulfilled in order for students to earn their degrees.”
Once again, progressive ideas are so popular that they must be mandated.
Campus Reform reports:
Drake University mandates equity and inclusion coursework
Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa requires all undergraduate students to complete an equity and inclusion course as part of their degree requirements, according to the university’s official curriculum guidelines.
The requirement applies to all students and must be completed within a student’s major for students to graduate, the university states on its website.
According to Drake’s Equity and Inclusion Requirement page, students enrolled in qualifying courses are expected to analyze the effects of race, gender, class, LGBT status, and other identity categories on U.S. political, social, and economic systems, including government, law, health care, public education, administration of natural resources, and business.
The university also states that students must reflect critically on their own positions within local, institutional, and national contexts, including whether those positions are privileged, maligned, or excluded, as part of the required coursework.
The equity and inclusion requirement is embedded within Drake’s broader curriculum and must be fulfilled in order for students to earn their degrees. The university provides a list of courses that have previously satisfied the requirement, many of which are housed in departments such as women’s and gender studies, sociology, psychology, political science, education, journalism, and pharmacy.
Among the listed courses are Introduction to Women’s and Gender Studies, Psychology of Prejudice, Racial Justice and Human Rights, Gender and War, and LGBTQ Health: Issues, according to the university’s curriculum page.
Campus Reform has previously reported on universities expanding mandatory diversity, equity, and inclusion coursework requirements as part of general education and degree completion standards.

Comments
Drake must be a terrible place to go to school. What a crock.
Any college or university with DEI in its curriculum should be investigated, charged and have all accredited degrees and any Federal funding removed.
Upon further reflection, I’m alright cause I’m all white. Do I pass now?
Attempts to roll back DEI extremism in education will not be achieved easily. The academic establishment, and especially specialized diversity administrators will fight tooth and nail to keep their regime; the rest of academe will try to outlast the current administration and reimpose their quotas and indoctrination as soon as they think that opponents’ backs are turned.
It is hard to read the writing on the wall when one can’t read in the first place. In Portland the only response to all the SNAFU’s that they have caused is “fuck ICE.”
