I laughed when I read “about this event” because, well, it’s nothing but an unhinged TDS rant.
MoveOn doesn’t mention an agenda or talking points.

I wonder how many Democrats will make a show by walking out while Trump speaks and make their way over to the this event.

Yes, I’m sure there’s nothing implicating Trump, because there is no way that whoever was running the Biden administration (certainly not Biden) could have restrained themselves from leaking it. That would not have required the administration doing anything about the case.

Why should he fire him? There is absolutely zero evidence or even suggestion that he ever did anything wrong. He and his wife had lunch with the guy. He had a drink with him. He invited him to a Hillary fundraiser; okay, it was wrong that he held the fundraiser, but inviting Epstein didn’t make it any more wrong, and Trump has obviously forgiven him for it. The very worst that anyone can say about Lutnick is that he lied to reporters; so what? Reporters are not owed the truth. There is nothing wrong with lying to them.

He concocted an elaborate, detailed lie to hide the extent of his personal and business interactions with someone who was not only a convicted sex offender, but a key figure in an international criminal network that was involved in economic espionage, as well as horrific crimes against children. Somehow, you — like Trump — think there’s no problem with having such a person as Commerce Secretary.

That’s what’s wrong with Lutnick lying so atrociously to us to cover up his relationship with Epstein. If Lutnick had told the truth — that he’d gone into business with Epstein, and even taken his own kids to visit Epstein on Rape Island — Trump would have been savaged in the media for nominating him.
But to judge by your reply to me, you’d have been fine with that nomination.

There was a well-connected businessman who had a criminal conviction but was still in business. There was nothing wrong in having a business lunch with him, no matter how personally distasteful one might have found him.
And there is absolutely nothing wrong with lying to reporters, which is at worst what he did. We don’t even know that for sure, but that’s the worst of it. No one ever owes reporters the truth. No one owes “the public” the truth. Some things are just not anyone’s business, and unless one is under oath one has no duty to tell the truth about them.
Bill Clinton did no wrong in wagging his finger at a press conference and lying about his sex life; that was his business and not the press’s. The problem is that he also lied about it under oath, after the judge had ruled that the question was material and that he had to answer it, and after the definition had been carefully negotiated, and he had confirmed to the judge that he had read and understood it.
And that was about an actual moral offense. Here the lie, if it was one, was simply about having lunch with someone, which is in no way a moral offense, let alone a legal one.

Scotus was missing a few people… I think it is bad optics. Some of them obviously believe it is bad optics to show up.
That bothered me more than the members of Congress. I thought they were supposed to be removed from party politics. I did some quick research about their attendance and I guess this is nothing new.

It is amazing to me that any Democrat attends the SOTU address knowing they aren’t going to stand and applaud a single thing Trump says just because he says it. They are sitting ducks.
Any elected rep sitting stoically to show disagreement with the concept that “the American government should prioritize US citizens over illegal immigrants” should be removed from their position. A political party publicly confirming their unanimous disagreement with that position is truly crazy and should be prevented from running for office and holding power over said citizens.
I guess they assume (correctly) that all their fellow TDS sufferers aren’t even going to watch the SOTU, and the media will paint them as the virtue-signaling winners no matter what, but it still amazes me they show up planning to sit on their hands for all the non-TDS sufferers in the world to see.
