U. Washington Increases Mandatory Student Funding for LGBTQ Center to $651K
“I have no desire to personally fund LGBTQ student programs or any other services I don’t use.”
1This is an astounding amount of funding, which shows where the school’s priorities lie.

University of Washington Boosts Mandatory Student Funding for LGBTQ ‘Q Center’ to $651K
At the University of Washington in Seattle, the Service and Activity Fee (SAF) Committee allocates $651,005 to an LGBT-based center for fiscal year 2026.
The Q center, operating programs for the LGBTQIA+ community, increased by $18,500 from the previous year, according to the award letter.
The SAF is required for students to pay, depending on credits, graduate level, and campus fees could range from $55 to $277, anywhere between 2,350-11,836 students fund the Q Center. “Queering a World-Class Education,” the Q center’s purpose, serves LGBTQ+ and allies, by providing programming and resources.
”We empower students and staff to thrive personally, socially, and academically. Guided by values of justice, respect, and liberation,” the mission statement explains. “The Q Center is a space where all individuals can find connection, healing, and the freedom to be their authentic selves.”
Programming and events hosted by this center range from Q books club, Gayme Night, Gender Discussion group, and access to free “gender affirming” items. Some of the items that students can request are “binders,” “tucking underwear,” and “stand to pees.”
Elliot Myers, a sophomore history major at the University of Washington, told Campus Reform, “I have no desire to personally fund LGBTQ student programs or any other services I don’t use. I think students should be allowed to have certain fees waived if they don’t want to use the service the fee would pay for.”

I felt the same about funding athletics when I was in college.
You stood to pee so you paid.

Do these people even read what they write?
Unfortunately, you can web-search all day and not even see a hint of the TRADITIONAL meaning of this word, which meant to distort or damage something significantly so as to lower or destroy its value.
The Year of the Rectum celebrated in Academia.
Most taxpayers pay for things they oppose or might even find morally objectionable.
And they pay them anyway.
STFU, pay the fee, and don’t let the school’s doors hit you in the #ss on your way out after graduation.
