President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that Venezuela will purchase only American-made products.
Interesting. The products include agriculture, medicines, and equipment.
Proceed with caution, though. As I’ve warned, those in charge of Venezuela are Maduro cronies.
I have just been informed that Venezuela is going to be purchasing ONLY American Made Products, with the money they receive from our new Oil Deal. These purchases will include, among other things, American Agricultural Products, and American Made Medicines, Medical Devices, and Equipment to improve Venezuela’s Electric Grid and Energy Facilities. In other words, Venezuela is committing to doing business with the United States of America as their principal partner – A wise choice, and a very good thing for the people of Venezuela, and the United States. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
The announcement comes a day after Trump said that Venezuela will give America between 30 and 50 million barrels of oil to America.
“This oil will be sold at its Market Price, and that money will be controlled by me, as President of the United States of America, to ensure it is used to benefit the people of Venezuela and the United States!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Trump is serious. On Wednesday morning, the military seized a Venezuelan-linked oil tanker flagged for Russia near Iceland.
Energy Secretary Chris Wright told a conference in Miami that “the U.S. will control Venezuela’s oil sales indefinitely.” From CNBC:
“We’re going to market the crude coming out of Venezuela — first this backed up stored oil and then indefinitely, going forward, we will sell the production that comes out of Venezuela into the marketplace,” Wright said at Goldman Sachs’ annual energy conference in Miami.“We need to have that leverage and that control of those oil sales to drive the changes that simply must happen in Venezuela,” the energy secretary said. The funds from the sales will be deposited in U.S. controlled accounts, Wright said.
It also means stripping China, Cuba, Iran, and Russia of their ability to buy Venezuelan oil.
