Trump Sending Homan to Minnesota, Confirms Investigation Into Rep. Omar

Trump Sending Homan to Minnesota, Confirms Investigation Into Rep. Omar

Trump on the border czar: “Tom is tough but fair, and will report directly to me.”

President Donald Trump announced that he will send Border Czar Tom Homan to Minnesota tonight and confirmed an invesitagtion into Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN).

Trump wrote:

I am sending Tom Homan to Minnesota tonight. He has not been involved in that area, but knows and likes many of the people there. Tom is tough but fair, and will report directly to me. Separately, a major investigation is going on with respect to the massive 20 Billion Dollar, Plus, Welfare Fraud that has taken place in Minnesota, and is at least partially responsible for the violent organized protests going on in the streets. Additionally, the DOJ and Congress are looking at “Congresswoman” Illhan Omar, who left Somalia with NOTHING, and is now reportedly worth more than 44 Million Dollars. Time will tell all. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DJT

It makes me wonder whether the information from Fox News’s Bill Melugin is true.

Melugin is one of the very few journalists I trust when he cites sources.

I also wonder if there is truth to Erick Erickson’s tweet, which Melugin retweeted.

Minnesota is a fiasco. Everyone on all sides need to calm down. Step back, take a deep breath, and calm down.

If they pull the agents out of Minnesota it will be taken as a sign of weakness by the communists. They will then organize these riots across the US. Summer of Love all over again.

It’s a lose-lose either way. Leave agents in MN or send more agents to MN and the agitators will ramp up their violence. More people will die and nationwide protests will ramp up their violence. Pull the agents out of MN and the agitators will ramp up nationwide because they saw that it worked.

Invoke the Insurrection Act, and send Federal troops to restore order. The analog would be the following: suppose the KKK, egged on by DemoncRat governors, would be violently protesting school integration. Invoking the Insurrection Act would be a no-brainer. Why should Minnesota be exempt?

      It’s not a lose/lose. It’s a must win. Or we have anarchy.

We have a precedent showing how to handle these types of ‘insurrections.’ Just follow Nancy Pelosi’s J6 playbook. Round up EVERYBODY within a few miles of these incidents and revoke all of the constitutional rights for a few years. Throw them in solitary. Destroy their lives. After all, this sort of things is the worst thing since 9/11, amirite?

Bidens open border policies turned the country against unfettered open borders.

DHS handling the last few weeks is turning the country against immigration enforcement. They see stormtroopers shooting people who are legally carrying weapons. Strange days when AOC is on TV defending the 2nd amendment and armed Barbie, Kristi Noem, isn’t.

If Trump wants to lose the midterms bigly, he should stay on the current track with immigration enforcement. If Minnesotians want to burn down their village again and set up a no-go zone, they should do it without the help of the admin.

Re AOC and Noem. There are always qualifiers, and they should be noted, such as, Good and Pretti were way past exercising their 1st and 2nd amendment rights.

The government has to protect the innocent from the evildoers. I would like to hear more from communities that are glad when ICE plucks out the bad guys. Many are afraid to speak up. Why? That’s a sign in itself. If we give up, the innocent will suffer, and that will certainly hurt Trump, even internationally. Iran will take notice.

“I would like to hear more from communities that are glad when ICE plucks out the bad guys.”

      Here’s the “more” you want (and dwb needs) to hear;

In the five Republican run states of Texas, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and Louisiana, ICE has done a gangbusters job. They have so far arrested 150,245 criminal illegal aliens over the past year — with ZERO protests, riots, or chaos. Why? Because local police and ICE are cooperating and working together to rid those states of dangerous illegal alien criminals.

Texas has 23% of all ICE arrests in the US; Minnesota has 2.2%. Guess where all the problems, incidents, and civilian casualties are? In Minnesota and other blue hellholes, because they are deliberately making trouble for themselves and for ICE.

Because they’re stone stupid, and have it confused with being principled.

No one is having their positions changed by the reporting coming out of Minnesota.

You can be pro-immigration enforcement and also think ICE and CBP are doing a terrible job and that this was a bad shoot. Pretti was shot after one of the agents disarmed him. Maybe the gun went off by accident, or maybe the agents overreacted because the agitators were blowing whistles and…well, agitating. Either way, Noem coming out with stupid statements afterwards only makes ICE look worse. Its true that Minnesota is engineered chaos. So is Gaza. You go in prepared, and ICE was unprepared.

You are engaging in Monday morning quarterbacking. Pretti was violently protesting. He had a gun with 21 rounds in its magazine (and apparently one in the chamber). He had two other such magazines on his person. The model Sig (the gun) he had has a known defect: it can go off accidentally without the trigger being pulled. Suppose you are an agent. You know Pretti is armed, but unbeknownst to you, another agent had disarmed Pretti, but the gun’s known defect results in the gun’s accidenrally going off. You hear a gun shot in your immediate vicinity, but you don’t know Pretti has been disarmed. In the heat of the moment, in the chaos surrounding you, and in that split second and in fear for your own life, what would you do, and don’t tell me you would stop and think?

And? Welcome to America, home of the slow-mo replay, where protesters have a 2nd amendment right to carry full stop (there is no protest or mag limit exception), and we get to see the final play of the game from ten different angles.

ICE and CBP have to be smarter than this.

I mean… when the gun rights groups are slamming Noem and Patel, the admin has lost the plot.

Well, why was he being tackled? Because he put his hands (rather gingerly) on an agent that just shoved a woman to the ground. His gun wasn’t brandished, he didn’t make specific threats, he was being detained for essentially ticking someone off. What happened next is a downstream consequence, and resulted in an unambiguously disarmed man getting shot and killed by agents.

Your use of his LEGAL possession of a (defective, granted) firearm to justify his death is baffling.

To dwb: I am not arguing against the 2A rights of Pretti. I have no problem with his carrying. What I’m saying is that his interference with ICE agents in the chaos and pandemonium and noise of the violent demonstrations going on, plus a defective gun, led to a breakdown of communications. All that, plus the defective gun, led to a chain of events that resulted in Pretti’s death. Had he not interfered with the ICE agents, he would be alive today.

To See More Butts, Pretti should have kept his hands off the agent, no matter how gingerly he touched him. You are doing Monday morning quarterbacking. Keep in mind the chaos and pandemonium and noise that were had the agents on edge.

“I am not arguing against the 2A rights of Pretti”

Patel, Noem and Biondi certainly are.

Let’s let the investigation play out. What I saw was a guy who showed up not to ‘peaceably assemble’ (that’s what the 1A protects not ‘protest’) but to actively interfere, with ongoing Federal law enforcement operations. That’s not even unlawful protest, it is a separate crime to impede or obstruct. That he did so while carrying is another problem and another Federal sentencing issue for that cime. He compounded this by reportedly not having his ID/CCW docs is another problem. Then he refused lawful commands to stop and submit to detention. He then decided to resist physically aka with violence. When you carry and LEO is interacting with you don’t be an idiot, inform the LEO you have a weapon, the location of the weapon and be passive/submissive not physically defiant, scuffle with LEO.

This wasn’t some rando walking down the sidewalk who happened to be lawfully carrying and exercising his 1A and 2A rights. It is a bad faith argument to suggest it was.

That said…it isn’t good PR for the Trump Administration and the outrageous claims from DHS Sec Noem and FBI Director Patel that claim this guy was there to ‘massacre agents, unleash mayhem’ made without any evidentiary basis are flipping stupid. Suggestions that people can’t lawfully carry exercising their 2A rights while simultaneously lawfully exercising their 1A rights to peaceably assemble is gonna bite the Trump WH in the ass if they don’t reel in these goons and correct the record.

I don’t see the claims as outrageous. They seem logical given the circumstances.
This guy comes to what is basically a riot with a gun, two spare magazines and no ID. Why is he carrying the gun? The only people there to protect himself against or shoot are ICE agents, his fellow protesters, and the illegals being arrested. He ain’t shooting two of those.

He also worked for the VA. He had to know that if he engaged with federal agents he would end up with federal charges and his job would be gone. Yet he did just that.

It really looks like he was on a suicide run.

The statements by Noem and Patel don’t make any sort of distinctions from otherwise lawful actions of peaceable assembly/lawful carry. Patel inaccurately claimed it was a violation of Federal law to attend a ‘protest’ while armed. That’s simply not true as a stand alone statement. Noem claimed this guy was there to ‘massacre’ but offers up zero evidence to support the claim…other than the fact he was armed and had two spare mags. That’s not sufficient to demonstrate intent to ‘massacre’. I suspect there’s tens of thousands of people carrying a semi auto pistol w/2 spare mags every day in the USA. We can’t allow such totally lawful and truly common activity to be defined as ‘intent to massacre’ for the convenience of Federal LEO.

IMO, when politicians of any stripe begin spreading falsehoods about firearms and their carry by Citizens its time to very closely examine what they say, what they imply and evaluate the honesty of their statements and look for the formation of an anti 2A narrative.

IMO this guy created the conditions that led to his death. Injecting himself into an ongoing law enforcement action to create interference, scuffle with LEO, refusing to comply with lawful commands, resisting with violence the attempt to detain him and doing it while armed was a whole litany of errors and bad choices. If the claims he pulled/brandished his firearm are true it is even worse (though not needed to justify the shoot). Again my opinion but this is probably gonna be ruled a case of ‘lawful (shoot) but awful (PR standpoint).

There’s nothing sneakier than the political jiu-jitsu that clever politicians engage in to make a community turn against their own rights to screw themselves in a way they can’t take back. If you believe 9-11 was an inside job to make America cheer the Patriot Act police state, you understand the principle.

People like Bondi, whose crypto animosity towards the Second Amendment is by now pretty evident, can be expected to pull something like this. I don’t think Noem or Patel have a clue about the 2A either way, they’re just flailing for advantage and mucking it up badly. And if Trump were making the statements personally, he’d do no better. Too bad Bongino took himself off the table, he’s the one I’d expect to do the best job of framing this issue properly.

I didn’t say it was illegal. I just said that the circumstances look like he was there to shoot ICE agents. Just like it’s not illegal to be outside a bank with a gun, two magazines, a ski mask, and a note saying “Give me all the money.” But it sure looks like you’re there to rob the bank.

Here’s an idea. If I’m going to an ICE riot to shoot cops, maybe I don’t stand in the middle of the road directing traffic like Charlie Chaplin, get in the cops’ faces with my video phone, argue with cops, tussle with cops, resist arrest with cops.
Instead, maybe I find a nice vantage point with low exposure and good hard cover, and then start shooting cops.
Maybe I get down to business instead of engaging in a bunch of cosplay that has zero upside to my goal.

This guy was no hero to the 2A. Showing up to a mob action against the government (this was no protest) armed is exceedingly stupid. He wasn’t intending to defend his life from his fellow agitators. He’d been told by his fellow leftists that ICE/DHS/CBP officers weren’t real law enforcement and had no legal authority to apprehend illegal aliens OR citizens interfering with their operations. He’d been told he had a duty to resist and impede them. If you are armed and you’re fighting with law enforcement and you reach for your weapon, it’s not going to end well. No one should be surprised by this result.

Let’s deconstruct your argument a scosche.

Assume I have no appetite for the protests, but have to travel through that area, where I have heard S will likely hit the fan today. I would almost certainly strap on the extra mag, in addition to the loaded and chambered pistol I ALWAYS carry. Because I’d be stupid not to.

Now, if I do run across a protest, I carefully back off and find another route. Run first, then hide, then fight.

What makes me different from Pretti? My intentions and my actions, one unknowable to others, the other hard evidence. Not the hardware on my belt. That’s just a tool, which neither blesses me nor damns me.

Considering the Lt. governor is actively helping to organize protests via Signal, it might be time to make some arrests at the top level instead of having ICE clash with protestors.

Unfortunately, there is a contigent of republicans that enjoy watching liberal protestors get injured or die. They think it’s comeuppance for them. They offload every negative emotion and all the hatred against MAGA onto random people and sneer at the corpses of their fellow Americans.

None of this stops until you cut off the hydra’s head.

I’m at the point now where I believe if you immigrated from Somalia, you should be sent back. If you’d like to return, you can go through the heightened vetting process.

The conspiracy theory that I’ve hitched my wagon to currently is that the unrest we see in Minnesota is an attempt to cover up massive fraud that involves many high ranking politicians, and maybe some others that enjoy the aroma of burning tires (IYKWIMAITTYD).

We can make more room in the prison for a politician by releasing Derek Chauvin.

Meh. When the 82nd shows up under the personal direction of Stephen Miller who’s been appointed as Viceroy/Czar of Minnesota to run the reconstruction of Minnesota and any other upper Midwest Cities (Chicago) who are in open rebellion using coordinated mob violence to impede/prevent the enforcement of Federal law then we’ll see a stark change in circumstances.

This is stochastic violence, knowingly incited by the leftist leadership. Just like Hamas, they desire deaths of their own warriors to make the other side, us, look evil and make us give up. They are happy with these deaths. We must fight on.

They have committed fraud on the taxpayers nearly unimaginable in scope and many of them will go to prison unless they can bring down the Trump administration.

They won’t stop. They will escalate until they are stopped or Trump is cowed into backing down.

If Trump backs down the insurrection spreads to every blue urban sinkhole of depravity.

They must be crushed.
