Trump Says U.S. “Locked and Loaded” if Iranian Regime “Kills Peaceful Protesters”

“We are locked and loaded and ready to go.”

President Donald Trump on Friday warned the Iranian regime against killing peaceful protesters, saying that the U.S. was “Locked and loaded and ready to go.” If the regime “kills peaceful protesters,” the U.S. will “come to their rescue,” he wrote on his Truth Social.

The warning comes as several demonstrators were reported killed by the regime forces as protests entered their sixth day. Protests, which began in Tehran, have spread to cities across Iran.

The BBC, on Friday, reported of “running battles between protesters and security forces,” as the Mullah regime faces the biggest public unrest in three years.

“At least seven people have been killed so far in violence surrounding the demonstrations, which were sparked in part by the collapse of Iran’s rial currency but have increasingly seen crowds chanting anti-government slogans,” the Associated Press noted.

Reuters reported President Trump’s remarks:

U.S. President Donald Trump threatened on Friday to come to the aid of protesters in Iran if security forces fire on them, days into unrest that has left several dead and posed the biggest internal threat to Iranian authorities in years.

“We are locked and loaded and ready to go,” he said in a social media post. The United States struck Iranian nuclear facilities in June, joining an Israeli air campaign that targeted Tehran’s atomic programme and military leadership. (…)

The comments came as a local official in western Iran where several deaths were reported was cited by state media as warning that any unrest or illegal gatherings would be met “decisively and without leniency”, raising the likelihood of escalation.

This week’s protests over soaring inflation have spread across Iran, with deadly confrontations between demonstrators and security forces focused in western provinces.

The Iranian regime responded to President Trump’s remarks with open threats.

Ali Larijani, a close confidant of Iran’s so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ Ayatollah Khamenei, accused the U.S. President of “adventurism” and told him to “take care of their own soldiers,” in an apparent reference to the regime’s growing ballistic and long-range missile arsenal.

Another top adviser to Iran’s Ayatollah, Ali Shamkhani, vowed to “cut … any interventionist hand that gets too close to the security” of the Shia-Islamic regime.

Protests began after the Iranian currency collapsed against the dollar last weekend, a direct result of President Trump’s policy of ‘Maximum Pressure’ on the regime. “The unrest began with a merchants’ strike in Tehran on December 28 against the severe economic crisis gripping the country, which has seen the value of its currency plummet to an all-time low, while inflation soared to over 40% in December,” German state-TV Deutsche Welle reported Friday. “The Iranian economy has struggled for years due to Western sanctions over Iran’s nuclear program.”

Protests, which were first triggered by the crashing currency, have turned into a nationwide anti-regime unrest, with demonstrators calling for an end to the 46-year-long Islamist rule and restoration of the monarchy. “Although protests took root in economic issues, demonstrator chants against Iran’s theocracy have been heard,” France24 TV channel reported.

The Iranian regime is well advised to take the U.S. warning seriously. President Trump recently ordered airstrikes against the Islamic State terrorist group in Syria and Nigeria.

you cant have peace unless you stop those who are willing to go to war

And Iran is going to war with us by arresting/shooting protesters/rioters?

destroycommunism in reply to GWB. | January 2, 2026 at 11:42 am

its our policy to stop those that want to harm the civilized world

since iran has proven they will do violence and had to be stopped by usa/israel just months back your downplaying the iranian policy of shooting freedom lovers is what actually empowers them……

this isnt just about those protestors

its about the bigger picture of iran flexing its muscles and those protestors are the embodiment of israel and by connection america etc

same way our going after the Venezuela drug cartels is really us letting china know
that we are on to them

its our policy to stop those that want to harm the civilized world
So, you’re an American hegemon who wants to play World Moral Police?

          That’s not America First.

GWB in reply to mailman. | January 2, 2026 at 2:12 pm

And if he justified going in on that concept, it would be very different. But you wouldn’t get long-term regime change with that

          And don’t be a d**k.

Don’t be appallingly naive and historically ignorant — the Islamofascist/Muslim terrorist Iranian regime has been at war with the U.S., its allies and the west, since the 1979 revolution. Iran was behind the 1983 bombing of U.S. Marine barracks in Lebanon, and, innumerable other attacks on U.S. and allied interests, over the past forty-six years.

guyjones in reply to guyjones. | January 2, 2026 at 12:03 pm

The Iranian regime should have already suffered deadly and substantive reprisals for its myriad attacks on U.S. and allied interests, over decades. #47 is the first president possessing the balls to actually hold this evil and wretched regime accountable, for its wicked and belligerent “holy war” fanaticism and terrorism.

And if he justified it on those grounds, hurrah. He did not.

Instead, he inserted himself into an Iranian issue, and threatened to attack the country based on entirely internal issues.

That’s the inverse definition of America First.

America First does not mean America Only.

And, quite frankly, if helping out the protestors kills off a Muslim regime that is continually making life (and living) difficult for Americans, then I say that by all means we should help them. I seriously doubt if he’s going to put boots on the ground. Maybe some strategically placed missiles and/or bombs.

JRaeL in reply to GWB. | January 3, 2026 at 12:31 am

I’m guessing the thought is that these protesters will be the force that brings a guiding light of a new and gentler Islam which will see Iran renounce its evil ways and strive to bring about a lasting Mideast peace all the while seeing to it that U.S. interests are given top priority.

Instead it will end up a case of “Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.” There are reasons enough if Trump wants to remind Iran the folly of making an enemy of the U.S. this is not one of them.

This is the mistake everyone makes.

Islam has been at war with the west, the east, the north and the south for it’s entire existence. That war is central to the tenets of Islam, and only when Islam is completely victorious will it end.

The Dar al-Islam must defeat the Dar al-Harb.

      There can be no peace.

Mamdani was a conquest. Khan, in London, was, and is a conquest.

Islam will have to be eradicated.

its just like this bs notion that socialism has “turned” harsher or has been mizunderstood

Barry Hussein take a seat. Your days of appeasing your friends, the mullahs, are over!

Had Barry had balls, actual balls, he could have headed off todays events but he doesnt have balls. He never has had the balls to do the right thing and here, the right thing is ending the mullahs evil reign over Iran and through the Middle East.

      Oh, give me a break.

So, apart from the threat to Israel and us, you think we should go around the world righting all its wrongs? You want the US to be the world morality police? You want us to go adventuring?

mailman in reply to GWB. | January 2, 2026 at 4:33 pm

Iran has funded terrorism around the world for decades. That alone justifies their removal by force.

Cry as much as you want but your black baby Jesus COULD have made a very real difference when he was President by supporting the Green Revolution instead of supporting his kindred spirits, the mullahs.

Stop with this BS crap of calling me “Barry.” It primarily points out that you don’t have an argument. And that you can’t even recall my other comments over the last however many years.

healthguyfsu in reply to GWB. | January 2, 2026 at 1:39 pm

Elimination of a terror sponsoring regime IS America first you nitwit. No different than going after Maduro.

Not when it’s framed like that.

The mistake so many of you are making is in ignoring motive. It matters why we do something. And Trump just told the world he’s willing to go to war over something that should not be directly our business.

If he wants to go to war over who’s in charge over there, then he really shouldn’t be running his mouth about how he makes peace.

If you want to attack Iran because they’ve made war on us, then be honest enough to say so. Don’t do it to support one side in a revolution. Because that has NEVER worked well for us

Sanddog in reply to GWB. | January 2, 2026 at 5:06 pm

I’ve never been overly impressed by those who cry for peace and think totalitarian governments will self reform if the people ask them politely.

An Iran free from the Islamists resets the chess board. Go for it! Free Iran!

I’m sorry, don’t bring those protesters over here!!!!

This is what it looks like when you don’t leave out to dry those who want to oust the terrorists after the West (=USA mostly) put intense pressure on Iran through Trump’s reimplemented sanctions (instead of sending pallets of cash).

In the past we put sanctions on and when they succeeded in incenting the normals to get together and start to pressure the regime, we would send harsh words when they killed them all, such words being easily ignored based on who was saying them.

After having bombed the crap out of their nuke program, now these words have some meaning behind them. Perhaps that will be enough to protect the vast majority and allow the pressure to finally force change, or perhaps some more military action against the actual people in charge, you know, bomb in the bedroom kind of action, will be needed.

Either way, seems like we really should support this effort since we started the fire.

I despise the Iranian mullah-ocracy. Their occupation of the US Embassy in 1979 was indeed an act of war. But the time to fight was when Jimmy Carter was in office; and we failed to rise to the occasion. Indeed, at that time, we invited some sort of attack by deliberately choosing a posture of weakness. Our durther interventions in the Islamic world have all ended in “losing the peace”.

I am not for an American intervention in Iran’s internal tumult. It will be a kiss of death for whomever we support–as post-WW2 history has proven over and over again. And, how much would a US-backed new regime be truly able to win over the populace of Iran?

Let Iran stew in its own juices. We should heed J.Q. Adams, who said that America does not go abroad in search of dragons to slay, and should be well-wisher to liberty everywhere but champion only of its own (to which, I would add, it is legitimate to recognize when the interests of other free naitons coincide with our own interests).

Further, it should be undisputed among both our people and leadership that we should walk softly, but carry a big stick.

with the help of soros comrades these monsters wont stop until they have once again hurt the west

I am for peace ..its too bad we cant say the same about the left/iran

ztakddot in reply to Kepha H. | January 2, 2026 at 2:46 pm

Not one drop of American blood should be shed for Iranian revolution regardless of how pro-West the revolutionaries might be. You can not give another country democracy. They must earn it themselves. The last 50 years of nation building attempts should reenforce that.

Best of luck to them. My advice is to kill those in power. Do not send them into exile in France again. If you don’t kill them they will constantly agitate to regain power,

Mauiobserver in reply to ztakddot. | January 2, 2026 at 3:29 pm

I think that there are probably a number of ways we can help those opposing the Terrorist sponsoring regime without direct military intervention. I don’t know tactics will work best but I suspect that our intelligence agencies as well as those of Israel and Saudia Arabia have extensive contacts in Iran and hopefully can help the people overthrow the Tyrants.

ztakddot in reply to Mauiobserver. | January 2, 2026 at 4:22 pm

        Agreed.

Unfortunately, our Intel services have not exactly been pro-USA recently (more pro-globalism).

Mauiobserver in reply to GWB. | January 2, 2026 at 7:41 pm

True but under the new leadership they did well when we took out Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Israel also had great intelligence and covert activity when they took out not only most of Iran’s air defenses and rockets but also much of their military and security leadership.

Saudi Arabia has a lot of reasons to help get rid of a hostile regime in the regime and plenty of cash to fund unrest or more.

I suspect that other regional powers like Turkey and Egypt would likely applaud such a move. Both countries fear their own internal Islamic extremists and are rivals for regional leadership

Sanddog in reply to ztakddot. | January 2, 2026 at 5:12 pm

The most successful and lasting revolutions come from within, both the good and the bad. The people of Iran have to determine how they want to live their lives. We can put pressure on the regime and we can covertly work with internal groups trying to depose the regime but they people of Iran need to own their victory.

Azathoth in reply to Kepha H. | January 2, 2026 at 2:52 pm

    A kiss of death?

Germany and Japan have thrived. As have the allies— until a much older foe reared it’s blood stained quran again.

And NO, Legal Insurrection, I will NOT capitalize quran.

This is a war that needs to be final–and it has since Muhammad oozed from his desert cesspit, dripping with pork offal and stinking of the sow that he defiled.

Islam is at war with all who are not Muslim. Hot war, not the namby pamby mutterings of the West.

We will defend ourselves, with deadly force—or islam will eat us.

Send the Marines. We have a bone to pick with Iran. The leaders of Iran have needed their asses kicked since the 80’s.

The first U.S. foreign war was in 1801 against the Barbary pirates, who were Muslim. Then the U.S. fought Muslim rebels in the Philippines in the 1901-1913 timeframe. Then we have the modern battles against Iran that started in 1980.

The U.S. has fought skirmishes off and on against Islam aggressors for over 200 years.

While I do not support U.S. troops on the ground, we could certainly unleash the Israelis and if necessary conduct limited air strikes against the Iranian regime.

It is certainly in the U.S. interest to weaken the regime. Iranian government attacks against civilian protesters would provide the moral and legal justification, as do recent terror attempts that trace to Iranian funding.

I was just a Lieutenant when the Iranian-supported Hezbollah truck bomb killed 241 Marines in Beirut, Lebanon in 1983.

Since then there have been dozens of attacks supported by Iran that resulted in many more casualties, including thousands in Iraq due to Iranian shape charges and IEDs.

The B2 attacks against Iranian nuclear facilities were truly a thing of beauty. But there is still a blood debt that needs to be settled with the Iranian regime.

The Iranians are not Arabs, for the most part – they are Persians. If they could be rid of radical Islam, they could become very good allies. When the Shah was in power, many of their military officers trained at U.S. military academies. The average Iranian on the street loves the West. The Mullahs, not so much.

I am a surgeon, I had a patient whose Iranian husband’s brother had recently been hanged in Iran for simply belonging to a pro-Western group. I said to him “I understand that the average Iranian is very pro-Western, why don’t they all rise up and overthrow the regime?” He got very quiet, then looked me directly in the eyes, and simply said “Because they have all the guns.”

Let’s give those poor MF’s some guns! They’ll do the rest.

No! Just kiss my arse and call me precious. I can’t even find a scale that will weigh out how ticked off I am over this insane assertion. Just because these protesters are against the current regime does not make them our allies or friends. Trump needs to put a sock in it.
