Poll: Harris Voters Oppose Men in Women’s Sports

“A plurality of Harris voters oppose the policy…” underscoring how the issue has become a political liability rather than a unifying cause for Democrats.

A new national poll shows that opposition to allowing biological men to compete in women’s sports is not only widespread but intensifying across nearly every demographic group, including among voters who supported Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.

The Economist/YouGov survey, conducted January 23–26 among 1,684 U.S. adult citizens, found that 67 percent of Americans oppose allowing transgender student athletes to compete on sports teams that match their gender identity rather than their biological sex, while just 22 percent support the policy. Another 11 percent said they were unsure.

The Washington Free Beacon, which also highlighted the findings, noted that the issue is increasingly uncomfortable for Democratic leaders who have declined to articulate clear positions despite mounting public resistance.

“Two-thirds of U.S. voters oppose allowing biological men to compete in women’s sports,” the Free Beacon reported, adding that even voters aligned with Democrats are breaking from party orthodoxy on the issue.

The resistance cuts across sex, race, age, and income. Men oppose the policy by a decisive 72–20 margin, while women oppose it 62–24. Strong opposition is particularly pronounced among older Americans, with voters aged 65 and older opposing biological males in women’s sports by a 74–15 margin. Younger voters aged 18–29 are more supportive, but opposition still outweighs support by double digits.

Income does little to soften public skepticism. Americans earning under $50,000 oppose the policy at 70 percent, while those earning over $100,000 oppose it at 71 percent. White voters oppose the policy by 68 percent, Hispanic voters by 56 percent, and even among Black respondents, support fails to form a majority once undecided voters are accounted for.

Among 2024 Harris voters, the numbers are especially revealing. Forty-three percent oppose allowing biological men in women’s sports, compared with 39 percent who support it, a rare instance where opposition outpaces support within the Democratic coalition itself.

“A plurality of Harris voters oppose the policy,” the Free Beacon noted, underscoring how the issue has become a political liability rather than a unifying cause for Democrats.

The poll also found that 44 percent of Americans believe society has gone too far in accepting transgender ideology, compared with just 30 percent who say it has not gone far enough.

As Democratic officials continue to avoid answering basic questions about sex and sports, the data suggest the public has already made up its mind. On one of the most contentious cultural issues of the moment, voters across party lines appear to be drawing a clear boundary, and they are doing so faster than left-wing politicians seem willing to acknowledge.

The 30% who believe it has not gone far enough need to be identified and completely shunned by society. Maybe exiled to Minnesota.

Can we please stop using the ridiculous redundant phrases “biological men”, “biological women”, and “biological sex”.

Clarifying adjectives should be used only where necessary, e.g., “make-believe women”, “fake men”, and “gender-delusional mental cases”.

    Trans man = pretend man,
    Trans woman = pretend woman.
You have the reproductive organs for either one or the other. And hormone therapy and surgery won’t change skeletal structure or genetic makeup. If that hurts someone’s fragile feelings, well, the world is a harsh place. Deal w/it.

So female voters don’t want men in sports ? Shocking ! All of those women must be heterosexual normative TURF Karens who secretly love the patriarchy. Shouldn’t they be decolonizing their minds and dismantling systems of oppression ! Rise up Harris voters with your paper straws and let yourself get concussed by trans women kicking your ass in sports ! I mean what are you zionists ?
