Any excuse to protest, right? The campus left sees protesting as the highest calling.
Campus Reform reports:
Penn State student groups hold demonstrations, block traffic in solidarity with Renee GoodStudents at Penn State University recently held a protest against federal immigration enforcement actions. The Jan. 12 demonstration, organized by the Student Committee for Defense and Solidarity (SCDS) and People’s Defense Front, criticized recent actions by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Demonstrators especially decried the officer-involved death of Renee Nicole Good, who was shot after striking an ICE agent with her car.“The Student Committee for Defense and Solidarity and People’s Defense Front stand with Renee Nicole Good, the people of Minneapolis, and all victims of ICE in their justified rebellion against ICE!” a joint Instagram post from the organizations read.“In reality, it does not matter if Good was shot in self-defense or not,” the post continued. “ICE is a tool of the imperialist ruling class to attack the people, and it is correct to resist them. Renee Nicole Good lived a more meaningful life than any ICE agent ever will. She died fighting for the people, which carries the weight of mountains compared to the feather-light value of the lives of ICE agents who carry out attacks on the people for the sake of U.S. imperialism.”The Department of Homeland Security has since spoken out in defense of the officer in an X post, writing, “Today, in an act of domestic terrorism, an anti-ICE rioter weaponized her vehicle against law enforcement. Our officer relied on his training and saved his own life, as well as the lives of his fellow officers.”Protesters gave speeches, lit candles in remembrance of Good, and marched on campus and through the downtown area. Images shared by The Daily Collegian, the university’s student newspaper, show protesters holding signs with messages such as “ONE SOLUTION: REVOLUTION,” “ICE DOESN’T PROTECT ICE KILLS,” and “ALL PRESIDENTS ARE IMPERIALISTS.”“What I’m seeing from ICE, and all of law enforcement, is that they are too violent,” said one protester.
