Hilton Removing Minneapolis Hotel From System After Banning DHS Agents
“A recent video clearly raises concerns that they are not meeting our standards and values. As such, we are taking immediate action to remove this hotel from our systems.”
Hilton Hotels announced it has removed a Minneapolis hotel from its systems after a video exposed that it was still banning Department of Homeland Security employees.

DHS had a great response this morning:
GOOD MORNING MINNEAPOLIS!
— Homeland Security (@DHSgov) January 6, 2026
DHS published emails from the Hampton Inn by Hilton Lakeville, Minnesota, showing that it would not allow ICE agents or immigration officials to stay at the hotel.
One email stated, “After further investigation online, we have found information about immigration work connected with your name and we will be cancelling your upcoming reservation.”
NO ROOM AT THE INN!@HiltonHotels has launched a coordinated campaign in Minneapolis to REFUSE service to DHS law enforcement.
When officers attempted to book rooms using official government emails and rates, Hilton Hotels maliciously CANCELLED their reservations.

After the chaos, Hilton claimed, “This hotel is independently owned and operated, and these actions were not reflective of Hilton values. We have been in direct contact with the hotel and they have apologized for the actions of their team, which was not in keeping with their policies.”
The chain followed up, saying the Hampton Inn took “immediate action to resolve this matter.”
Hilton’s operator, Everpeak, appeared to confirm the moves: “Everpeak Hospitality has moved swiftly to address this matter as it was inconsistent with our policy of being a welcoming place for all. We are in touch with the impacted guests to ensure they are accommodated. We do not discriminate against any individuals or agencies and apologize to those impacted. We are committed to welcoming all guests and operating in accordance with brand standards, applicable laws, and our role as a professional hospitality provider.”
Interesting. DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said DHS and ICE hadn’t received any updates from Everpeak Hospitality.
Well, independent journalist Nick Sortor visited the Hampton Inn to confirm if the hotel changed its policies:
BREAKING EXCLUSIVE: I went into the Minnesota Hilton who “apologized” for banning DHS agents, and EXPOSED them for CONTINUING to ban DHS agents
@HiltonHotels has decided they want the FULL BUDLIGHT treatment at this point.
Hilton’s operator, Everpeak, STRAIGHT UP LIED in their statement yesterday which said they were “in touch” with DHS to accommodate impacted agents, and “do not discriminate against any individuals or agencies.”
NONE of that was true. There was NO attempt to reach DHS agents to make it right, per Asst. DHS Sec. @TriciaOhio
Even the FRONT DESK manager said he had spoken with the owner shortly before I walked in around 10:50pm, and confirmed the ANTI-DHS POLICY REMAINED IN EFFECT.
REVOKE THEIR LICENSE, HILTON, OR IT’S GOING TO COST YOU DEARLY. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED.
This is an INCREDIBLY dumb battle to choose!

Yeah. Boycott them. They deserve it.
But the Indian owners apologized, “We’re sorry, we didn’t realize we would lose money.”
Indian nationals complaining about immigration enforcement. Who would have thought?
I was wondering why they wouldn’t publicly stand by their position if they were still not letting them book rooms… then you said “Indian owners.”
Cowardly greedy scum of the scummiest variety. You can’t hate them enough.
Yes, I said Indian owners. Indian migrants Parmjit Singh, Amanpreet Hundal, Karandeep Nagra, and Mohinderjeet Kaur told MSNBC that if their hotel goes bust, they will move to California and become truck drivers.
They don’t have to move so far. They could move to Illinois.
Indians. They should just rename it 7-11 and call it a day.
First thing first – Hilton does not own the property. The property owner is the one that cancelled the reservations, Not Hilton
Terminating the franchise agreement is going to cost the owner a bunch of money.
A – It will be 3-6 months before the owner finds another hotel management company/ operator to run the hotel ( ramada, Best western, choice hotels, Holiday Inn, etc) assuming that a new hotel management company takes them on. – That is going to be 3-6 months of lost short term rental revenue.
B – When the property owner hires a new hotel management company, he is going to spend a bunch of money to comply with the new property managers system, New signs, new decor, new face lift, etc. ie if Holiday inn becomes the operating, everything has to change to Holiday inn style. Same if new operator is Best western, etc, etc.
The owner of the property screwed himself, especially if he has co-owners which he now has a liability to.
Knowing all the facts as detailed above, Hilton should be praised, not condemned.
“Knowing all the facts as detailed above, Hilton should be praised, not condemned.”
Only if they follow through. And here’s the question for me: Hilton came out with a statement saying they’d taken care of it. They didn’t. They get a pass for that? Why didn’t Hilton do the necessary follow up to ensure that a hotel with THEIR NAME ON THE SIGN is actually following their policies?
And, final point: Is that the only hotel that Everpeak owns? The video said it was their “flagship” location but are there other Hilton branded hotels being managed by the same people? What about them? I want the entire LLC’s franchise rights stripped, not just the one hotel with video evidence against.
Hilton had better act on this decisively and quickly or this Hhonors member is never darkening the door of a Hilton chain hotel again.
I dont have information on whether hilton rerouted the reservation to a different hotel in their system. Its possible that DHS rebooked elsewhere before Hilton corporate found out about it.
Their website shows a comfort in and a Ramada in other photos – nothing Hilton. Those hotel brands should also proactively follow suit shortly. I reserve judgement because there is still a tiny chance this was an action by one or two lowly employees – doubtful though.
A little more info
The owners of the hotel property are a group of Indian nationals
The operator the the property is Everpeak Hospitality
The booking system is through Hilton/Hampton Inn.
I was unaware of Everpeak Hospitality being the onsite operator.

Boycott them. Period.
The hotel represents the company. The company is totally and unequivocally responsible for every action by its franchisees.
If a death occurred on the property due to negligence, I am sure that Hilton would have lawsuits for that.
Deep pockets get to pay.
Reward your friends. Punish your enemies. Go team.
In other news, new Somalian daycares are under construction
By no coincidence, this hotel is owned by recent immigrants. It will find rebranding expensive. The only other operator of comparable size is Intercontinental with its excellent Staybridge brand. However I can’t see Intercontinental wanting the unnecessary controversy merely to pickup a unit to compete against its other extended stay hotels in the area that now have a 5 star rating in MN.
The question is did Hilton remove ‘this Hotel’ or did they remove all properties operated by Everpeak Hospitality and block the ownership of Everpeak Hospitality from future association with Hilton?
And also, are they going to be allowed back in a couple of months or when they sell it to their cousins for zero dollars and then reapply for a franchise?
They can always continue operating as a No-tell Motel, since the management is provided by Everpeak.
I like the suggestion I’ve seen that ICE should set up shop outside the employee entrances. I wonder how many of the staff at that place have work visas?
Does anyone know what the actual name is? I just went to hilton.com and searched for hotels in Lakeville, Minnesota. There are none; the nearest Hampton Inn is Minneapolis/Burnsville. So either it’s not listed as Lakeville or it has been removed from their system.
hilton asked
how come universities and others can tell you they are dropping dei etc and get withheld funding started up again but we get busted and the universities
are in fact still on the dei agenda??
hilton slogan:
we’ll leave the lie on
Hilton removed the hotel from their system 2 hours after the Nick Sortor video. So nobody can book it on any of the major hotel booking sites. Hilton was lied to by the owners and as they say the owners now found out what FO means.
I am attending a family wedding. The couple had made block reservations at a HHonors hotel.
They made other arrangements with another hotel chain and contacted the Hilton hotel that they were canceling the reservations for the rooms.
Big mistake on Hilton. BIG!
Guys. Hilton stepped up and solved the problem. The franchisee messed up, Hilton called them on it and the franchisee apologized and said it was a mistake. Several hours later some citizen journalist showed up claiming to be ICE and were turned away. Video shown online and Hilton immediately cut them out of the franchise and reservation network. What else do people want?
1. Verification that Hilton has not only removed this facility from the booking system, but that the business has been stripped of its franchise – all signs and logos removed from the premises before it is allowed to operate. Sanitized from any connection to the brand.
2. Confirmation from Hilton that this partnership has no other Hilton-associated franchises, and if they do, they get similar treatment.
3. Assurances and commitment from Hilton that this partnership will not sneakily be allowed, at some point in the future, to be re-awarded Hilton franchises. Hilton is done with them, and they are through with Hilton.
It’s only this scorched-earth approach that will make this kind of behavior stop. The penalty has to be death, in this case economic death.
I hope the Feds sue them to the fullest extent of the law, now that their cash flow is cut off, and if they have loans, I hope they were based on a business case that depends on the franchise, so the loans are now callable. Because that is what it will take to make these people stop with their culture war.
