Hakeem Jeffries: ‘ICE Should Not be Able to Storm Houses of Worship’

Yes, just days after an Anti-ICE mob burst into Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota, in the middle of a worship service because they believed the pastor was affiliated with ICE, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) actually went on national television and said, “ICE should not be able to storm houses of worship.” He uttered the astonishing words during a Wednesday appearance on MSNOW’s program Morning Joe.
Asked by co-host Jonathan Lemire about funding for the Department of Homeland Security, and, in particular, ICE, the truth-challenged congressman replied: [Emphasis added.]
Well, ICE is completely and totally out of control. Donald Trump promised, with respect to immigration enforcement, that the administration was going to target violent felons who are here in the country illegally. That’s something the American people support. The American people do not support the targeting, the arrest, the detention, the brutalization of American citizens, certainly do not find acceptable the killing of Renee Nicole Good and the targeting of law-abiding immigrant families and communities.
And so, I think, from our standpoint — and we’ll have a discussion in about an hour in our Caucus meeting about the path forward — but clearly, there needs to be accountability mechanisms that [are] put into law so that ICE conducts itself like every other law enforcement agency in the United States of America. That’s not too much to ask. So, some of the things that we believe are appropriate in this instance, are demanding be part of any final bill, are a warrant requirement. That’s common sense.
ICE should not be able to storm houses of worship, hospitals, and schools. That’s common sense. That relates to protocols that exist for every other law enforcement agency in the country. ICE should have a use-of-force standard. None currently exists. Of course, the notion that masked ICE agents are running around brutalizing American citizens, utilizing taxpayer dollars, completely and totally unacceptable. And so, these are the types of things that we believe should be put into place to get ICE under control, consistent with the demands of the American people.

Although the quote, “Accuse your enemy of what you are doing, as you are doing it, to create confusion” — often attributed to Karl Marx — is repeated ad nauseam, this instance is so blatant that it bears repeating. This is pure, unadulterated gaslighting.
Yes, all politicians exaggerate, but in the age of President Donald Trump, Democrats have resorted to telling outright lies. While some are more guilty than others, few are more disingenuous than Jeffries, whose words cannot be trusted.
Whom does the minority leader think he’s fooling with his projection? And why wasn’t he called out for this whopper in real time?
Just four days ago, a video went viral showing an anti-ICE mob — including Black Lives Matter organizers, paid career agitators, and fired CNN host Don Lemon — storming into Cities Church during a worship service. Americans saw it with their own eyes.

They want the people who are just now hearing about the Church storming to think that was ICE. I asked my wife last night if she had heard about it. She had not.

Still, this is one of the most brazen examples I’ve ever seen.
People should start following him in convoys like they do to ICE. Every time he goes into a restaurant they should scream at him until he leaves. If he tries to use the bathroom at a gas station, block him from going in. Publish his license plate and his address and his wife’s picture and his kid’s school. Have an app saying everywhere he goes. Just like is happening to ICE.

Which law enforcement agencies have policies against arresting people in schools or hospitals?

Homeboy is really working to frame his narrative that enforcement of immigration laws is abnormal. How about all the sanctuary jurisdictions reverse their pro illegal alien policies returning to the true status quo and in exchange ICE will refrain from selecting Churches, Schools, Hospitals as the primary venue to make.arrests? IOW if the leftists will return to the status quo ‘normal and customary’ of cooperation with ICE then it won’t be necessary to go into Churches, Schools, Hospitals except under very unusual circumstances…but they won’t make that deal b/c they want the illegal aliens to remain here to, at minimum, benefit their political power in apportionment and very possibly for other reasons.
One of my son’s online correspondents was grousing about how Trump was targeting only major blue cities with his roundups of illegals. My son pointed out that the roundup is going on everywhere, including red states… but only the notorious blue cities are making the news because they’re the only places where the residents are stupid enough to physically harass the law enforcement officers. Everywhere else, the citizens are thanking them.
