CU Boulder Prof Calls U.S. a ‘Fascist Authoritarian Regime’ in Newsletter

“I’m not sure what 2026 will bring or when we may see an end to fascist authoritarianism, but I hope there will be things to hope for in this new year”

These people are so insufferable. It’s all performative and partisan.

Campus Reform reports:

CU Boulder professor calls U.S. a ‘fascist authoritarian regime’ in newsletter

A University of Colorado Boulder professor ignited controversy this week after labeling the United States a “fascist authoritarian regime” in a campus newsletter.

In the newsletter, which was released this month, Professor Jennifer Ho argued that the government’s operation to remove Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro reflects “competitive authoritarianism.”

“I woke up on January 3 and learned that the US had taken control of Venezuela (insert stronger language as you wish),” Ho’s newsletter began.

The professor then described the current administration as “fascist” because of its attempts to neutralize an alleged supporter of drug smuggling into the United States.

“I am trying to do my due diligence as an educator and scholar to say the thing that I believe and have found evidence for among my academic colleagues and to say what too many are afraid to admit and acknowledge,” Ho wrote. “The US is a fascist authoritarian regime.”

“I’m not sure what 2026 will bring or when we may see an end to fascist authoritarianism, but I hope there will be things to hope for in this new year,” the post concluded.

Comments

The most intolerant people on the face of the earth calling others fascist authoritarians.

America has a buttload of problems, but exactly zero of them are that too many academics are “afraid” to call it a fascist regime.

That she can publically make such statements about the government and still walk around free contradicts her claims completely.

In China, just mentioning Xi Jinping by name, even in a positive context, will get you quickly disappeared if the wrong people see or hear it.

What does this Jo teach? Something Studies?

Jennifer Ho in 2023 was employed at University of Colorado Boulder and had an annual salary of $163,220, according to public records. This salary was 142 percent higher than the average and 163 percent higher than the median salary in University of Colorado Boulder.

Ms. Ho: Why don’t you move to a truly “fascist authoritarian regime” e.g., a Sharia law governed nation, and see if you can enjoy the ‘life of ease and privilege’ you currently enjoy at CU, working 6 hours a week and summers off?

Has anyone asked the professor to define fascism?

Heh. It’s Colorado, what should one expect?

30 years ago when I lived in CO, it was a very reasonable state. About half the legislature were Repubs and half Dems, and the Gov could be from either party. Dick Lamm was a Dem, but he wasn’t tha bad a Gov.

Then the big immigration influx from CA came. Those idiots could see that Co was governed better than CA, but they kept voting the same way as they did in CA. So now CO is nearly as screwed up as CA.
