Trump Attends Dignified Transfer Ceremony of Two Soldiers Killed in Syria

The two men were ambushed while on patrol in Syria while supporting counter-ISIS efforts.

President Donald Trump and others attended the dignified transfer ceremony of two soldiers killed in Syria supporting counter-ISIS efforts.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley, and Delaware Sen. Chris Coons attended with Trump.

Sgt. Edgar Brian Torres-Tovar and Sgt. William Nathaniel Howard of the Iowa National Guard returned home at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.

Ayad Sakat, a civilian contractor, also died.

The ambush took place in Palmyra when Torres-Tovar and Howard participated in a joint field patrol with Syrian security forces.”

Trump met privately with the families.

Trump always does a wonderful job at these sad events. Much better than any president in my lifetime. Kudos to him for the empathy he demonstrates.
