The 19-year-old Israeli hostage, Noa Marciano, was murdered by a doctor in Gaza’s Shifa hospital, her father Avi Marciano disclosed in a social media post.
Noa, who Palestinian terrorists abducted from a kibbutz on October 7, 2023, was taken to Gaza City’s Shifa Hospital after sustaining minor ‘non-life-threatening’ injuries. Weeks after her abduction, and with Israeli troops advancing in the area, a Palestinian doctor “injected air into her vein,” Noa’s father said.
Noa’s murder by Shifa’s medical staff was recorded on camera, showing a doctor injecting air into her veins while she pleaded for mercy. Avi Marciano “learned of his daughter’s death in Hamas captivity through a video of her last moments shared with him on Telegram,” the Jerusalem Post reported Thursday. The “footage of a medical professional lethally injecting air into her veins after she was taken to Shifa Hospital in Gaza,” the newspaper added.
Noa, a resident of the central Israeli city of Modi’in, held the rank of Corporal and served as an observation soldier in Israel’s Border Defense Force’s 414 Unit.
Days after Noa’s murder, the Israeli military managed to recover her body in a raid on the Hamas-controlled hospital. Her father’s revelations are consistent with the Israeli military’s assessment made last summer. In early July 2024, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement that the Shifa hospital “was used by Hamas for murder(ing)” her.
The Israel National News/Aruz Shava reports:
Avi Marciano, the father of IDF lookout Noa Marciano, who was abducted from the shelter at the Nahal Oz outpost on October 7, appeared in a video posted on Instagram by pro-Israel activist Shai DeLuca, where he revealed for the first time how his daughter was murdered in Hamas captivity. In a recording sent to him, Noa described the airstrikes in the area and pleaded for her distress to be conveyed: “They’re bombing us,” she said in the video. She made a desperate request: “Stop the bombings because you might hit us.”Later, as IDF forces approached the area, Hamas terrorists attempted to move Noa into central Gaza City. On the way, the car she was in was struck, and Noa sustained injuries to her leg and head, though they were not life-threatening. She was evacuated to Shifa Hospital in Gaza. Her father recounted that one of the medical staff at the hospital decided to murder her. “He injected air into her vein,” he said. Marciano received confirmation of Noa’s death through another video sent to him, in which his daughter is seen begging for her life. At the end of the footage, she appears to be sweating but lifeless.
The statement made by Noa’s father is consistent with the previous IDF assessment, Ynetnews reported July 1, 2024:
In November [2023], … Noa’s body was rescued from Gaza. Her remains were found in the hospital by the 603 Engineering Battalion of the 7th Division and was transferred to Israel. Later, IDF spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari revealed that “Noa was taken into Shifa, where she was murdered by Hamas terrorists.””According to medical findings, Noa was abducted to a hideout near Shifa, and during IDF attacks on the Hamas terrorist holding her, he was killed and Noa was injured, but not fatally. The hospital, a place which was supposed to sanctify the value of life, was used by Hamas for murder,” he said.
The IDF was widely maligned in the media for raiding the terrorist-held hospital, which led to the recovery of Noa’s body. On November 15, 2023, The New York Times quoted “Hamas and the hospital’s leadership,” who obviously spoke in unison, saying “Al-Shifa, they say, is nothing other than a medical center and sanctuary for thousands of people uprooted by Israel’s strikes on Gaza.”
The hospital doubled as a vast underground Hamas command center, the video released by the Israeli military showed. “Al-Shifa Hospital from above, Hamas terror complex below,” the IDF wrote on Twitter following the raid.
While mainstream media continued peddling Hamas’s narrative, Legal Insurrection repeatedly highlighted Hamas’s tactic of using Gaza hospitals, particularly Shifa, for sheltering terrorists and hiding hostages. In September 2025, I wrote: “Since the war began…, Palestinian terror groups have used Shifa and other hospitals in Gaza as bases for sheltering terrorists and hoarding weaponry.”
“The 900-bed [Shifa] hospital has served as a Hamas commander center and an underground dungeon for holding hostages after the October 7 attack.”
