Gavin Newsom Mocked for Cringe ‘Happy Kwanzaa’ Video Message
“May the seven principles of Kwanzaa, in particular community, purpose, and unity, guide our way toward a better future.”
Just a couple of weeks before Christmas, I took a trip to the post office to buy some stamps for the greeting cards I needed to send out.
Naturally, I wanted to get stamps that were Christmas-themed, but they didn’t have any left. I asked if I could get a couple of books of the standard “forever” stamps, but all they had in those were the large rolls.
The options they had in book form were SpongeBob Squarepants stamps, Kwanzaa stamps, and stamps commemorating the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Marine Corps.
I’m not a fan of SpongeBob Squarepants, and the Kwanzaa stamps were out of the question based on what I know about the non-religious seven-day “holiday,” so I ended up getting the Marine Corps anniversary stamps.
The Federalist’s 2020 write-up detailing the holiday’s origins is worth referencing when one considers what the leftist media typically leaves out when trying to explain it to people who are curious about the term:
The “holiday” was created in 1966 by Ron Karenga, who renamed himself Maulana. Karenga, the founder of the United Slaves, a violent rival organization to the Black Panthers, created the holiday for black Americans and derived the name “Kwanzaa” from the Swahili phrase “matunda y kwanza,” meaning “first fruits of the harvest.” That’s about the extent of the deep African roots the official Kwanzaa website claims.
[…]
Mulshine explains that the paramilitary organization Karenga ran in Los Angeles in the late 1960s was involved in murder and torture: “In 1967, Karenga was accused of having his thugs beat up a student who asked him an impertinent question at a college forum. In 1969, [United Slaves] got involved in a struggle with the Black Panthers for control of the black studies program at UCLA. All involved carried guns on campus. The US guys were quicker on the draw; they killed two Panthers in a shootout at the student center.”
[…]
Karenga is currently a black studies professor at California State University, Long Beach where the administration is apparently untroubled by the fact that this radical racist is also a convicted torturer of women. Despite the troubling past of Kwanzaa’s founder, leftists continue to shove this fake holiday down America’s throat every Christmas.
Though estimates vary, some unconfirmed and, frankly, unreliable reports have suggested that up to 9 million people in the United States celebrate Kwanzaa, which proponents describe as merely a weeklong reflection on “African and African American culture.”
Not that I doubt that there are black people in America who celebrate Kwanzaa, but interestingly, the only people one typically sees touting and openly observing Kwanzaa are white leftists, like Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D) and WI First Lady Kathy Evers, seen below in what some described as a clip that looked like a hostage video:
Happy Kwanzaa, Wisconsin!
To all those celebrating across our state, Kathy and I are wishing you celebrations full of joy and community. pic.twitter.com/Zb1Jev42lO

🤦🏻Kwanzaa was invented in 1966 by Marxist professor Maulana Karenga (birth name Ronald McKinley Everett) who was jailed 5yrs later on kidnapping & torturing women. Court records state the women were stripped, beaten with electrical cords & burned with hot soldering iron. pic.twitter.com/PEmQh0QM1W

Another one that got a lot of attention came from California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and “First Partner,” Jennifer Newsom, who shared this cringe “Happy Kwanzaa” message on social media Friday:
As families come together to light the kinara, Jen and I wish all those celebrating a joyful Kwanzaa.
May the seven principles of Kwanzaa, in particular community, purpose, and unity, guide our way toward a better future.

It didn’t take long for the mockery to ensue:
Very few things instantly induce a chuckle more than wonder bread politicians earnestly discussing Kwanzaa as if it’s a real thing they deeply appreciate. https://t.co/T4Q1nCkzHg

The only people who celebrate Kwanzaa anymore are corporations and white liberal politicians. https://t.co/Lz2FSckYFd

Kwanzaa was founded by a violent racist, which means it’s totally on brand for Democrats to pander to this fake holiday. https://t.co/YZaBp7XKY5

I have never met a single person who celebrates Kwanzaa
— Josh Peterson (@jdpeterson) December 27, 2025
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) even got in on the action:
I have no doubt that young Gavin—in his cravat, reclining at his winery—has celebrated Kwanzaa his entire life!#Authenticity https://t.co/iHgig7srYc

Don’t go away mad, Gavin Newsom. Just go away.

My wife – a beautiful black lady from Tanzania – asked me to explain Kwanzaa since it is celebrated nowhere in Africa. I told her it was a holiday created by black American radicals to be celebrated by rich crazy whites.
The real target of Kwanzaa celebrations: wazungu tajiri wenye kichaa.
Damn, where did I leave my Urim and Thummim glasses?
Gesundheit.
Sharkweek is a more legitimate holiday that Kwanzaa.
Yeah, but it’s no Toyotathon
Why is greasy apparatchik, Newsolini, not on bended knee, first of all — as all Dhimmi-crats of prominence were, during the riots, arson, looting, murders, insurrection, etc., in the aftermath of the self-caused demise of the Dhimmi-crats’ canonized career criminal and drug addict saint — and, secondly, why is he not wearing a “kente” cloth scarf/”keffiyeh” scarf? Without the requisite sartorial accoutrements, his ethnic pandering efforts fall flat.
Oh what fun it is to cozen AWFULs into culturally appropriating a totally non-cultural holiday!
Three candles on each side of a central candle. Seven in total. I don’t know. Perhaps it’s just me but the first thing I thought when I saw the “kinara” was that Karenga just culturally appropriated the Jewish Menorah for his own purposes. Are blacks allowed to do that?
Always pronounce both trailing ‘a’s. Kwanz ah ah.
Especially if you’re in Banff.
I almost feel bad mocking them for pretending to care about black culture and the black community when the democrats have done their level best to keep blacks enslaved since the time of Appomattox. Blue cities rival war zones for their casualty count – almost exclusively consisting of young black males. Since LBJ’s Great Society, the black family has been utterly and irreversibly destroyed in order to guarantee the black vote.
Malcolm X saw through the liberal pandering, which is why his assassination was very convenient.
And not at all difficult for a Party of Organized Crime.
I awoke singing,
“Those seven Kwanzaa virtues were made for charcoal rap.”
Even for Gruesome Newsom, that was gruesome.
As a Jew I feel remiss, if I don’t point out that Kwannza is complete cultural appropriation of hannukah. The stupid candle holder they use is called a kinara which of course coincidentally looks and sounds nothing like menorah. Sarcasm award goes to me. It last a week wink wink and involves lighting candles every night. The original kinara from the 60’s was in fact a menorah and many kwanza displays use a menorah. Why not everybody loves to steal things from us Jews and then blame us for their issues and ignorance of their own roots. Hollow as they often are.
True dat, bro. Mos def you chillin’ day be jacked.
It’s a week dude. Christmas is one day.
Every dog has his day, but a dog with a broken tail has a weak end.
Ok, dah daze den, man
You are hitting the egg nog pretty hard there
or twelve……
I’m thinking you’re appropriating the faith and effort of the Black Hebrew Israelites who are the true tribes of Israel.
Besides bein’ kangs, the brutha wuz jooz
Kwanzaa is like Latinx.
The only people that talk about it are insane far left lunatic bubble rich liberals who have literally zero contact with anybody who isn’t also a far left rich liberal.
How many years did they try to make ‘Latinx’ a thing, when 90% of the actual Hispanic community opposed it? They kept pushing it anyway.
Kwanzaa is the same. Nobody actually CELEBRATES it, its just a virtue signaling nonsense event for leftists to signal to other leftists that they’re oh so virtuous.
It’s the land acknowledgement of holidays.
just one transparent fraud touting another transparent fraud
“Jen and I wish all those celebrating a joyful Kwanzaa.”
Newsom went to so much trouble to virtue signal in a video, when he could have just sent Kammy a card.
“California State University, Long Beach where the administration is apparently untroubled by the fact that this radical racist is also a convicted torturer of women.”
Entire departments at Harvard and MIT wined, dined, and groveled for huge grants from a convicted child rapist.
“The original kinara from the 60’s was in fact a menorah and many kwanza displays use a menorah”
To be fair, this was before Amazon, Alibaba and 3D printing. Back then, I knew a student whose “Christmas tree” was recycled from a carwash.
next newest laws from local DA’s around the country
any poc may enter any store they like and take up to but no mare than ( and we mean it this time) 3000 worth of merch to celebrate kwanza
the most holiest of holy days
how long until arrests are made for any insulting kwanza?
I mean they made laws protecting their hair
The CROWN Act, which stands for “Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair,” is a law that prohibits race-based hair discrimination, which is the denial of employment and educational opportunities because of hair texture or protective hairstyles including braids, locs, twists or bantu knots.

Does it offer protection for us fur-faces?
Newsom’s partner needs to cover up.
an empty cophee sack would be aboutt right. No head hole.
To experience the true meaning of Kwanzaa, go rob a liquor store.
