Florida Sues Medical Groups Pushing Transgender Mutilation on Children
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier: “Florida will always follow the evidence protect children and defend parents’ rights to make informed decisions.”
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier filed a lawsuit against three medical groups that push children mutilation procedures.
The groups are the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), the Endocrine Society, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
We’ve covered many stories concerning these groups.
Uthmeier said in his announcement:
Today, I’m announcing that we are taking legal action against several powerful medical organizations, the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Endocrine Society. We believe these organizations failed to disclose the risks, limits and evidence.
When promoting so called gender affirming care for children for years, these groups insisted the recommendations were settled science, but behind closed doors, they knew the evidence was weak. They knew the outcomes uncertain and the risks very real.
Parents were not told the full story. In fact, some parents were told that if they didn’t put their kids through permanent, life altering sick procedures like double mastectomies and castration, that their child would commit suicide. Not only is that unethical and dangerous medicine, but it is against the law, children were irrevocably harmed because truth was replaced with political activism.
When organizations make medical claims, they have a duty to be honest. When they intentionally mislead families their members and the medical profession, we hold them accountable.
Florida will always follow the evidence protect children and defend parents’ rights to make informed decisions. Thank you.
In 2023, @GovRonDeSantis signed legislation to ban so-called "gender-affirming care" for kids. Now it’s time for accountability!

Uthmeier accused the organizations of violating the “Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA).”
Their actions allegedly show “a pattern of racketeering activity under the Florida Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization Act (the Florida RICO Act).”
Uthemeir noted that children “gender dysphoria was a rarity a decade ago.” It didn’t explode until 2017.
“This rapid rise—which coincides with a general ‘deterioration in youth mental health’ associated with social media, smartphones, a lack of in person interaction, and other societal ills—suggests that pediatric gender dysphoria is a symptom of deeper psychological needs,” Uthemeir wrote in the lawsuit. “And while it is natural for children and adolescents to feel anxious about their changing bodies, these feelings usually ‘disappear’ after they reach puberty.”
The attorney general claimed that “this model of care” does not agree with these groups’ “ideology and financial incentive.”
“So, rather than attempting to resolve the underlying causes of psychological distress, Defendants developed a treatment protocol that irreversibly alters children’s bodies to conform to their anxieties,” according to Uthemeir. “This sequence of interventions, which Defendants call ‘gender-affirming care,’ begins with puberty suppression, progresses to cross-sex hormones, and culminates in surgical procedures on minors’ breasts and genitals (collectively, ‘sex interventions’).”
Uthemeir pointed out how these groups made a huge profit off these mutilating surgeries and medicines.
Uthemeier cited data showing that “as of 2022, sex intervention was a $4.1 billion industry.”
The number could hit $8 billion by 2030.
Then Uthemeir laid out how the groups managed to deceive parents, children, the legal system, and others into accepting their model and mutilate children.
“Defendants’ reprehensible and immoral actions capitalize on the mental distress of children—as well as the natural affections and fears their parents—to help their members sell lucrative surgeries and drugs that irreversibly mutilate and chemically alter children’s bodies without providing any credible medical benefit,” stated Uthemeir. “In their wake is a growing number of ‘detransitioners’ who feel ‘butchered by institutions [they] thought [they] could trust.'”
In 2023, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill that banned the mutilation of children, along with keeping males out of female sports.
Senate Bill 254 made it illegal for doctors to perform any of those surgeries on children and to prescribe them medication like puberty blockers.
President Donald Trump signed an executive order upon taking office that protects children from mutilating surgeries.
“The head of each executive department or agency (agency) that provides research or education grants to medical institutions, including medical schools and hospitals, shall, consistent with applicable law and in coordination with the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, immediately take appropriate steps to ensure that institutions receiving Federal research or education grants end the chemical and surgical mutilation of children,” Trump ordered in his EO.

Love it, and they took on the 800 pound gorilla in the AAP!
Success of a lawsuit like this isn’t necessarily measured by the judgement that is rendered. Even if they are unable to get a judgement against these entities, the discovery should be deliciously telling.
I look forward to this one.
What these boys who think they are girls need is to have the crap beaten out of them. Beat them till they start fighting back and become men. For the girls who think they are boys- no sports, etiquette classes and limited reading.
Get help.
Miami just elected a democrat mayor, 1st since 1997
This is not going well

Just to clarify:
That’s the city of Miami. Miami Dade county elected a democrat mayor in 2020 and she was re-elected in 2024.
No need to panic. Yet.
Time to stop with these law suits and instead go directly after the directors of these “charities” and do them for endangering children! Make them pay a personal price!!
