Elementary School Principal Fired Over Antisemitic Remarks in Voicemail He Thought Had Stopped Recording
“He was heard employing the stereotype that Jewish people are bankers and lawyers.”
We covered this in an earlier post. The principal’s firing is a new development.
KYW News reports:
Montco school principal fired after making antisemitic remarks in voicemail to parent
A Montgomery County elementary school principal was fired after he was heard making an antisemitic remark in a voicemail to a parent.
The Wissahickon School District said it received a copy of a voicemail that Lower Gwynedd Elementary School Principal Philip Leddy left for a parent in reference to a student. In the recording, Leddy was heard “making antisemitic comments and speaking disparagingly about the parent to another staff member who was in the office at the time.”
He was heard employing the stereotype that Jewish people are bankers and lawyers. He said the parent had “Jew money,” and referred to their children’s summer camp with the pejorative “Jew camp.”
Leddy came forward about the matter and said he had thought the call had disconnected and continued talking. The school district said the other employee on the recording “did not engage in antisemitic rhetoric or discussion, but did not appear to be alarmed or concerned by what had been said, and instead continued on with the conversation.” That employee has been placed on paid administrative leave and is subject to further investigation.
“We are deeply concerned about the impact this will have on our school community, and in particular the Jewish members of our community, and we want to be strongly and immediately clear that antisemitism will not be tolerated,” said Superintendent Mwenyewe Dawan. “Our No. 1 priority is to create a safe environment for our students. We recognize that earlier today, the trust in creating this environment was compromised.”
The Wissahickon School District is offering staff training and has partnered with external organizations, like the Anti-Defamation League, to address potentially systemic issues.

Recent history has shown that anti-Semitism is endemic in the United States, and is not only tolerated but often actively encouraged. The fact that consequences as described above are considered newsworthy is troubling; such actions should be routine.
Much worse than I thought it was three years ago. Much much worse. I had no idea it was simmering it the hearts and minds of progressives or that muslims has such influence in this country without making any real contributions that I am aware of, Stupid me.
“Leddy was heard “making antisemitic comments and speaking disparagingly about the parent to another staff member”
It’s all part of the Inclusion rubric of DEI.
Somebody forgot to read their Coexist bumper sticker
Ha! Yes you ever noticed how people with those bumper stickers believe in exactly the opposite. It’s like this obnoxious “in this house” yard signs that were popular during Covid; they basically might as well have said “in this house we believe only our opinions are valid and everyone else is a facist and must be dealt with through ostracism, isolation and violence.”
“in this house we believe only our opinions are valid and everyone else is a facist and must be dealt with through ostracism, isolation and violence.”
This sentence defines academic governance in the US for the past three decades.
Before the promotion to the principal position, he had been the chairman of the district’s DEI committee.
That would appear to make many things involved in this fiasco more predictable. Just the fact that there is a “DEI committee” would be laughable if it were not so infuriating.
