UN Security Council Approves Trump’s Gaza Plan; Hamas Refuses to Disarm
Prime Minister Netanyahu: The Trump plan to lead to “full demilitarization, disarmament and the deradicalization of Gaza.”
President Donald Trump scored a major diplomatic victory on the international stage as the United Nations Security Council overwhelmingly approved the U.S. resolution on Gaza, which calls for the deployment of an international stabilisation force.
“The UN Security Council on Monday voted to adopt a U.S.-drafted resolution endorsing President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza and authorizing an international stabilization force for the Palestinian enclave,” Reuters reported.
While Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed the UN resolution, the Palestinian Islamic terror group Hamas rejected the move toward peace, declaring that it will not allow an international force to demilitarize Gaza and vowed to continue its terrorist jihad against Israel. “Hamas, in a statement, reiterated that it will not disarm and argued that its fight against Israel is legitimate resistance, potentially pitting the militant group against the international force authorized by the resolution,” Reuters added.
The U.S. resolution passed by a vote of 13-0 in a 15-member UN body, with China and Russia abstaining. Ahead of the vote, they both tried to sabotage the Trump Gaza plan, with Moscow proposing its own resolution.
President Trump thanked the UN Security Council members for supporting his plan. “Congratulations to the World on the incredible Vote of the United Nations Security Council, just moments ago, acknowledging and endorsing the BOARD OF PEACE, which will be chaired by me, and include the most powerful and respected Leaders throughout the World,” he wrote on Truth Social.

The Trump administration’s blueprint to secure and govern Gaza won strong approval at the United Nations on Monday, a crucial step that provides international support for U.S. efforts to move the devastated territory toward peace following two years of war.
The U.S. resolution that passed the U.N. Security Council authorizes an international stabilization force to provide security in Gaza, approves a transitional authority to be overseen by President Donald Trump and envisions a possible future path to an independent Palestinian state.
“This will go down as one of the biggest approvals in the History of the United Nations, will lead to further Peace all over the World, and is a moment of true Historic proportion!” Trump posted on social media.
The vote endorses Trump’s 20-point ceasefire plan and builds on the momentum of the fragile ceasefire he helped broker with allies. It marks a key next step for American efforts to outline Gaza’s future after the Israel-Hamas war destroyed much of the territory and killed tens of thousands of people.
The proposal calls for a yet-to-be-established Board of Peace as a transitional authority that Trump would head. It also provides a wide mandate for the international stabilization force, including overseeing the borders, providing security and demilitarizing the territory. Authorization for the board and force expire at the end of 2027.

In a statement issued by Prime Minister Netanyahu’s office on Tuesday, the Israeli government thanked “President Trump and his tireless and devoted team.”
With a firm international backing, Israel hopes to see Hamas and other Gaza-based terrorist groups, which carried out the October 7 massacre, disarmed and disbanded. “We believe that President Trump‘s plan will lead to peace and prosperity because it insists upon full demilitarization, disarmament and the deradicalization of Gaza,” Netanyahu’s office said.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the United Nations Security Council’s (UNSC) vote to implement US President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan, thanking Trump and his team for their efforts to secure the deal, the Prime Minister’s Office posted to X/Twitter on Tuesday morning.
“The State of Israel and PM Netanyahu applaud President [Donald Trump] and his tireless and devoted team,” the post read. “The courage and sacrifice of our brave soldiers, along with President Trump’s diplomatic efforts, helped bring home all of the living hostages and most of the deceased ones.”
“We believe that President Trump‘s plan will lead to peace and prosperity because it insists upon full demilitarization, disarmament, and the deradicalization of Gaza,” including, the PMO added, receiving the remains of the deceased hostages left in Gaza “with no delay.”
The PMO also stated that it believes that Trump’s Gaza deal “will lead to further integration of Israel and its neighbors as well as expansion of the Abraham Accords” and a “lasting alliance with the United States.”
The UN resolution has been passed nearly seven weeks after President Trump announced his 20-point plan for Gaza, resulting in a ceasefire after two years of war that began following the October 7 attack in which Hamas-led Palestinian terrorists brutally murdered 1200 people and took another 251 hostage, including women and children. Hamas is still holding on to the bodies of three hostages, despite agreeing to return all hostages within 72 hours of a ceasefire. The terrorist group is refusing to hand over weapons and has carried out attacks on Israeli troops deployed beyond the ceasefire line–in direct violation of the Trump plan.

A word of caution to Mr. Trump on his Gaza plan: Somalia.
In 1993-94, the chaos in Somalia caused the UN to intervene. We led (of course) but UN member states supplied additional forces from Islamic states, under the theory that such military force would be more accepted by the locals, being Muslim and all. Among those forces were units from Pakistan.
And yes, you guessed it — the non-US forces were poorly trained, poorly equipped, poorly motivated, poorly led, poorly, well, everything. And when the excrement hit the oscillator (Blackhawk Down), those Pakistani troops were nowhere to be seen.
So, now, Gaza, where as part of the plan we’re going to have some Islamic military forces provide security during the rebuild.

Need to fill in all the tunnels. Cement, water, sea water. Something to make the tunnels unusable. Cement seems expensive and might not flow to all the areas needed. Tunnels might be made water tight but with great effort. Water and especially sea water would be corrosive to military equipment but might mess up agricultural in the area. I would vote for sea water based on corrosiveness and abundance. The place already imports food. Every time a tunnel opening discovered- bring the hoses over and fill in. One “problem “ is the new salt springs under all the schools, hospitals and UN buildings.

How about the ground-up bodies of Hamas members?
All knew Hamas would not really agree. OK. So now they are the bad guy and we can return to the original plan requiring the physical elimination to proceed onwards. Almost time to release the Israelis to get back to work,
So, Hamas has broken the peace agreement, to no one’s surprise. Now Israel can resume the fighting and this time finish it (and Hamas) once and for all. That should also restore peace to the area, having demonstrated Israel’s will and ability.
Hamas will continue to attack Israeli’s. They will refuse to disarm and if the Arab countries actually send troops in they will be attacked too until the Arab countries have had enough and withdraw then we will be back to square one again.
There will never be peace in the middle east.
Islam will continue to be a problem.

Three truisms.
There will be peace in Gaza if someone builds a giant wall around it then props up a ladder on the outside. Every 10 years climb and look over the top. When you finally do that and there is only one man left alive, shoot him.

Unfortunately, like the Nazis and Japanese militarists the only solution is the elimination of Hamas and barring action by the Palestinian population external forces may be required. Any action encouraging the Palestinians to do so should be applauded. No aid to Gaza until Hamas is gone.
