The ShamWow! Guy is Running for a Texas House Seat as a Republican
“a former fixture on American infomercials”
Does everyone remember ShamWow? It was the quick cleanup product that was featured in a memorable series of ads. The man in the commercials, whose real name is Offer Vince Shlomi, is running for a House seat in Texas as a Republican. He is also apparently a Charlie Kirk fan.
The 2026 midterms are going to be very interesting.
The Hill reports:
‘ShamWow’ guy running for Texas House seat
Offer Vince Shlomi, commonly known as the “ShamWow guy” after his series of towel infomercials, is running for a House seat in Texas with a pitch to “soak up the swamp,” according to primary filing information from the Texas GOP.
Shlomi — a former fixture on American infomercials where he hawked “ShamWow” towels, which he touted for their absorbency and ability to be used on different surfaces — is running for Texas’s 31st Congressional District, currently represented by GOP Rep. John Carter.
The Federal Election Commission (FEC) does not yet have a candidate filing listed for him.
Shlomi, whose name is listed in the Texas GOP’s filing database as Offer Vince “ShamWow” Shlomi, told Fox News Digital in an interview published on Sunday that he was compelled to make a congressional bid “to destroy wokeism” and in honor of the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
The “ShamWow” salesman joins a group of Republicans looking to primary Carter, who handily beat his primary challenger last year by more than 50 points in a House seat that currently resides in the northern suburbs of Austin.
We live in amazing times.

Mr. Shlomi had a brief scrape with the law a few years back, but addressed it in an exchange with NBC News:
In 2009, Shlomi was arrested on suspicion of battery after a fight with a woman, who was also arrested. Prosecutors declined to press charges. Shlomi told NBC News in an interview for a 2013 article that he takes “full responsibility” for his actions and that he would cut down on partying.
“People understand you make mistakes in life,” he said. “Hopefully I won’t make another mistake.”
I kind of hope this guy wins just to see what kind of presentations he would give on the House floor.

I would not dismiss him on any such basis.
Brandon Herrera is often dismissed by twits outside of the gun community as a youtuber with good hair. I think the guy would be a rock star in the house and I believe he’s running again.
He is. Donations appreciated.
Brandon came very close to winning the primary in his first shot at public office and is already over $1 Million in fundraising. Please donate a few bucks if you have it.
I was wondering about the DV incident.
Not domestic. The woman was a prostitute who attacked him. From WP:
It’s about time Republicans had a candidate who knew how to talk to fans of “The View.”
Let’s just hope he doesn’t throw in the towel.
Please go sit in the corner and think about your comment. 😜
Wow!
If he did, his campaign would’ve been a Sham.
If he absorbs some good advice I think he has a chance to mop up in his district. I’ve read his brain is like a sponge, so I I think he will be fine.
An Israeli-born Jew and high school dropout, who grew up in Brooklyn, is running for a conservative Republican seat in Texas. Only in America.
Let us not forget the Slam Chop.
This is the news I needed to hear today!
Not sure the Warlord of Mars needs a primary challenge, so why?
