Sydney Sweeney Soars Like an Eagle During GQ’s Woke-Scolding Interview

Sydney Sweeney Soars Like an Eagle During GQ’s Woke-Scolding Interview

Instead of a fun clip featuring a lovely actress and American Eagle model, the GQ team produced what can be best described as an HR struggle session.

This summer, American Eagle’s jeans commercial featuring actress Sydney Sweeney was an outstanding campaign that signaled the end of woke “body positivity” nonsense.

The fact that weight-reduction pharmaceuticals are now on the market has also helped end the unhealthy push for obesity acceptance as well.

But the American Eagle campaign may have an even more lasting impact: giving women an example of grace, poise, and confidence when dealing with woke scolding from another woman.

Clearly, the left’s outrageous outrage on the American Eagle commercial’s play on words about “good jeans” still has not dissipated. So Kat Stoeffel, the Features Director at GQ Magazine, thought she would use the opportunity during her interview with Sweeney to ambush her about the ad and try to force out an apology.

Instead of a fun clip, the GQ team produced what can best be described as an HR struggle session.

GQ: “The president Truth Socialed about the jeans ad … And I wondered what that was like?”

SWEENEY: “It was surreal.”

GQ: “I would probably feel thankful that some very powerful people had my back in public. I wondered if you felt that way?”

SWEENEY: “I didn’t have that feeling.”

GQ: “There’s a chance that somebody will get some idea about what you think about certain issues and feel like, I don’t want to see Christy because of that. Do you worry about that?”

SWEENEY: “No.”

GQ: “Is there something that you want to say about the ad itself?”

SWEENEY: “The ad spoke for itself.”

GQ: “The criticism of the content was basically that maybe specifically in this political climate, white people shouldn’t joke about genetic superiority … I just wanted to give you an opportunity to talk about that specifically.”

SWEENEY: “I think that when I have an issue that I want to speak about, people will hear.”

Stoeffel may have planned to ambush Sweeney, probably encouraged by her progressive besties who are completely unaware of how iconic Sweeney has become…both for beauty but also for conservative sensibilities. I am sure the GQ Features Director felt like a feminist hero once the video was posted. Surely, Stoffel had made a name for herself!

Indeed, Stoeffel’s chat with the American Eagle spokesmodel has become famous…just not for the reasons the GQ team intended.

Sweeney beautifully paired strength with style. During her exchange with Stoeffel, she demonstrated an ability to handle sensitive questions about the American Eagle ad with poise, never letting persistent lines of questioning shake her composure. Rather than acquiescing to demands for an apology, she held the line on her beliefs and priorities.

Sweeney radiated confidence in her career and personal values, sharing her pride in her accomplishments and refusing to be defined by outside opinions or controversies. The country would be much better off if more young American women followed Sweeney’s example.

Prediction: Cowboy boots and bomber jackets are going to be the next “in thing”, just in time for Christmas.

Another big thing to like about Sweeney.

Set the trap, smear shit on the jaws then cover it with leaves.

Ha!

The problem is the Right see an attractive young woman advertising a product with a clever pun – healthy genes, while the Left see a privileged White, racism, and can’t help but squawk in protest.

Both watch the same ad, but see very different things – the Right take it at near face value, the Left insist on reading in all their ideology.

With such diametrically opposite approaches is it even possible now for an ad to cater to both Left and Right without offending someone?

Who cares about the perpetually offended. They are humorous, stupid, boring, and full of shit.

      And unattractive, inside and out.

And, many of them have voices that you could strike a match on. Shrinking and shrill. And then there’s the women…!

Unfortunately, there are quite a few of them, and they vote. Also they control most of our cultural institutions.
The question now is how to decrease their numbers and influence so that we normals can go back to pursuing life, liberty and happiness without all the roadblocks and traps that these whackjobs have set.

Of course the left treat it that way. They’re also the only ones who’ve been hearing decades of dog whistles they claim are for us. We didn’t even notice them because we aren’t dogs.

The truth is that some genes are on balance far better than others. This is clear when we look at individuals and groups.

I saw that ad several times and I never took racial superiority out of it. It was about genes, heredity, biology and blue jeans. Had a black actress said the same words in the same way no one on the left would have said a thing about it. That ladies and gentleman is the true definition of hypocrisy, and Sydney Sweeney handled this snarky reporter perfectly!

That was one of the great slap downs of the year. I must confess my bias had me assuming that she wasn’t among the brightest bulbs. I would happily apologize to her in person.

I don’t think Sydney Sweeney is some conservative champion (there are good reasons for that if you’ve followed her “body” of work. I just think she doesn’t want to be political at all. And honestly she should have that right as an entertainer if she wants to.

The center/right has a bad habit of ‘adopting’ people based on one or two things they see. That said Sweeney is an actress so she takes the roles she’s offered if she wants to work but the roles ain’t really her. It isn’t as if Marlon Brando was really the Godfather. Dude was a hard leftist, bisexual, antisemitic on occasion, a womanizer, erratic, often childish. Sweeney seems pretty grounded and I’d suggest she’s a ‘normie’; she likes shooting sports, horses, grew up riding horses in a more rural than urban or suburban setting. She took a lot of flack for the American Eagle ads and didn’t flinch when it would have been easy to bend the knee to the woke mob. This GQ interview reinforced she ain’t gonna be intimidated by some woke reporter trying to pressure an apology out of her. If nothing else she demonstrated backbone.

Agree. I don’t dislike her at all. I just don’t think people should build her up to be something she’s not because that usually leads to outrage when they no longer get wish fulfillment from that same person. Both the left and the right are guilty of this.

Honestly we should all back off of celebrities, not because they deserve it or anything, but because they get too much worship and too much scrutiny. We overvalue the contributions of these people to what really matters in life.

CommoChief in reply to healthguyfsu. | November 8, 2025 at 6:52 am

Agreed. We see this sort of disappointment expressed all the time b/c folks over invest in a particular celebrity. Some will project an entire set of ideological beliefs onto them based on one or two things then be upset when the celebrity falls short of living up to those unrealistic expectations.

Whs I love about this chick (other than the obvious 😜) is that I have no idea about her politics.

She could be a raving left wing nut case for all I know but the fact she doesn’t broadcast her virtue left, left and left is just next level and shows us someone who is actually quite mature in her world outlook.

This is also why I love Scottie Scheffler because I’ve no idea what his personal politics is in spite of him being Christian and very faithful. Just wish there were more people like these two who inhabit the public space!

CommoChief in reply to mailman. | November 8, 2025 at 6:46 am

Yep. We don’t really need to know the political ideology of a particular celebrity. If they make it an issue with a preachy ‘do this, believe that or you’re a bad person’ attitude that’s on them. Michael Jordan had it right.

Which again shows she is smart. Most polls show the country split 50-50 on a whole lot of left right issues. If you are an actor, actress, or any kind of performer why would you want to alienate half the people who pay your wages..

I looked up her video at Taran Tactical in 2019. Compare that to leftist women wearing Handmaid costumes and pussy hats. Sydney exhibits the traits of a strong, self confident woman, the very thing leftists hate.

“Look lady, how can I be any clearer that I don’t care about you being offended?”

Sweeney soars like an eagle

Woke interviewer plummets like a brick

You can tell she’s smart and conservative because she thinks before she speaks, result being what she says makes sense. You don’t see that so much in some other groups.

    ttucker99 in reply to geecheeboy. | November 8, 2025 at 12:18 pm

She could be liberal but like old style, more like Bill Maher. I don’t agree with 95% of his views but he does at least invite conservatives on his show and have rational non screaming discussions with them.

Maybe the ad world would like to apologize to white America for constantly insulting us by using only blacks in their ads!

Ok, this whole thing is quite silly. Leave the girl alone. But I must say this is a case of the media telling me that an odd looking girl with large breasts is some kind of raving beauty. She is not! Glad she can be successful at it though.

GQ? Gentlemen’s Quarterly? Why are they employing hardcore feminist leftist idiots from Brown? Feels like Rip Van Winkle waking up to a completely unrecognizable nightmare of a culture totally off the rails. Went woke now go broke.

Where did GQ get this farbiissen from ? A beer hall in Munich?

As a 64 year old retiree I bought my first pair of jeans in over 15 years last week. The lovely Sydney Sweeney’s ad played no part in my jean purchase. The store had 2 pair in my size and one larger. One of the pair listed in my size is overly large and the next size down I cannot fit in. I have a new pair of Levi’s for the first time in over 30 years. They are slightly baggy but I washed them in hot water and they fit great.
