Poll: Record Number of Young Women Want to Leave the United States

One aspect of the 2024 election that is still being discussed is the gender divide. While men largely fled the Democratic Party, women stayed and in many cases drifted even further to the left.
Now, new polling from Gallup indicates that a record number of young women want to follow in the footsteps of Rosie O’Donnell and flee the United States.

A new survey found that a record number of young women are interested in fleeing the U.S. and moving abroad permanently.
Gallup recently found for the second year in a row that approximately one in five Americans say they would like to leave the U.S. and move to another country permanently.
However, a growing number of young women expressed interest in fleeing the country. According to the polling firm, 40% of women ages 15 to 44 said they would move abroad permanently if given the opportunity. Gallup noted that in 2014, only one-quarter as many women of that age bracket expressed a desire to leave the country.
By contrast, 19% of the young women’s male counterparts said they would like to leave the U.S. for good, marking what Gallup said was the widest gap it had recorded in this trend. Gallup also noted that few countries had shown this kind of gender gap in a desire to migrate since it started measuring the question globally in 2007.
This is largely, if not solely, about politics.

Rising interest in leaving the U.S. is shaped not only by age and gender but also by political attitudes. In 2025, there is a 25-point gap in the desire to migrate between Americans who approve and those who disapprove of the country’s leadership.
Desire to permanently leave the U.S. was not always such a politicized issue. Between 2008 and 2016, migration aspirations were similar regardless of views toward the country’s leadership. After Trump’s election, 2017 marked the first time this gap exceeded 10 points. During Trump’s first term, the difference in migration aspirations between those approving and disapproving of national leadership averaged 14 points. Under Biden, the gap narrowed to eight points, before climbing to 25 points in 2025, the first year of Trump’s second term in office.

The US won’t stop them but my guess is the vast majority of them would not be given permanent residency in any foreign country.

I’ve travelled a bit and my experience is that, the United States has one of the best overall quality life balances. The “equality” stew has been cooking for a long time in this country, but the addition of “equity” to the mix has resulted in stew that is rancid and unpalatable to most. Recently I have read a surprising statement from a Republican and a Democrat on women voting. Ann Coulter and Dave Matthews both said it would be better if women did not have the right to vote. They went on to show the election results and women between 20 and 45 were responsible for every leftist who has gotten elected and in Biden’s case, voted for him at something like 55%. For some strange reason women think that abortion is the most important thing in the world followed by being nice in public.
