Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) made it official.
Pelosi, 85, will finally retire from Congress next year.
Pelosi has been in office since 1987, but has been in politics since 1976. She served as the first woman Speaker of the House from 2007-2011 and 2019-2023.
She stepped down from a leadership role last year.
Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) took over as House Minority Leader.
A few people have already lined up to primary Pelosi, including California State Sen. Scott Wiener.
Wiener is trouble.
