Pelosi has been in office since 1987, but has been in politics since 1976. She served as the first woman Speaker of the House from 2007-2011 and 2019-2023.
She stepped down from a leadership role last year.
Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) took over as House Minority Leader.
A few people have already lined up to primary Pelosi, including California State Sen. Scott Wiener.
Wiener is trouble.

Funny you should bring up refrigerators. I had a water leak do extensive damage in my home. My refrigerator was not damaged, but it is of such an annoying design that even though it is fully functional and virtually new, I will be replacing it as part of my kitchen rebuild.
