Former Treasury Secretary and Harvard President Larry Summers resigned from the OpenAI board after emails between him and Jeffrey Epstein surfaced.
As Elizabeth wrote yesterday, Summers said he felt “deeply ashamed” after emails showed he corresponded with Epstein for seven years after his conviction for soliciting prostitution from a minor.
One email showed Summers asking Epstein for advice on how to start a relationship with a woman he described as a mentee.
Summers decided to step away from public commitments but will continue teaching at Harvard as a “University Professor.”
Well, Summers won’t be on the OpenAI board, either.
“In line with my announcement to step away from my public commitments, I have also decided to resign from the board of OpenAI,” Summers told Axios. “I am grateful for the opportunity to have served, excited about the potential of the company and look forward to following their progress.”
