*UPDATE* Senate Passes Bill to Release Epstein Files
Only one person voted no.
*UPDATE 5:32 PM
The Senate unanimously passed the bill to release the Epstein files.
The House passed the bill only a few hours before the Senate vote.
—————–
The House voted 427 to 1 to force the DOJ to release all files related to Jeffrey Epstein.
Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA) voted no. He wrote on X:
I have been a principled “NO” on this bill from the beginning. What was wrong with the bill three months ago is still wrong today. It abandons 250 years of criminal justice procedure in America. As written, this bill reveals and injures thousands of innocent people – witnesses, people who provided alibis, family members, etc. If enacted in its current form, this type of broad reveal of criminal investigative files, released to a rabid media, will absolutely result in innocent people being hurt. Not by my vote. The Oversight Committee is conducting a thorough investigation that has already released well over 60,000 pages of documents from the Epstein case. That effort will continue in a manner that provides all due protections for innocent Americans. If the Senate amends the bill to properly address privacy of victims and other Americans, who are named but not criminally implicated, then I will vote for that bill when it comes back to the House.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) has been at the forefront of the fight to release the Epstein files, followed by Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA).
President Donald Trump has fought tooth and nail to deflect the attention away from the files. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson followed his lead.
But more and more Republicans came out to support Massie’s measure.
I guess Trump saw the light at the end of the tunnel because he told Republicans to vote for the bill, insisting, “we have nothing to hide.”
Massie’s bill heads to the Senate. I bet it will pass since Trump said he would sign it when it lands on his desk.

More and more this appears like Democrats walked into a trap. Thankfully, they have a compliant media to divert that they are connected at the hip.
Eagle mouth with a hummingbird ass…crude, but true.
If the abused girls are called upon to identify the large percentage of congressmen who participated in Epstein orgies, the identification lineup would need to be displayed exclusively from the waist down.
Less of a lineup; more of a daisy chain.
It’s hard to argue against Rep. Clay Higgins‘ argument. It seems like the consensus is “screw everyone, so what if innocent people get hurt; it’s happened before, it’ll happen again.” Which is even harder to argue with.
Possibly. On the other hand those who were in the Epstein/Maxwell orbit AFTER 2006 when he was under criminal charges re to underage prostitution and definitely AFTER his guilty plea in ’08 to State Charges and infamously avoided Federal charges were ‘on notice’ about Epstein/Maxwell activities. IMO those who chose to enter or remain in their orbit/associated with them, schmoozing them for donations/assistance after ’08 guilty plea showed at minimum very poor judgement and the inability to exercise discernment. I don’t have a great deal of sympathy for any public embarrassment these folks endure as result of their choices to continue to seek out Epstein/Maxwell after the guilty plea in ’08.
I agree. I was just thinking more in terms of any young ladies that were truly victimized. The movers and shakers and others who associated with Epstein after 2006 are on their own.
30k more emails released, and they established exactly what the FBI said, that nobody besides Epstein and Maxwell are implicated in anything criminal.
I am sorry but to all you people who think you are Javert…..in a month when everything is read already, and every scandal monger has to concede they have zero evidence, and continues ignoring the FBI case…..are you going to admit you are a keystone cop instead of being Javert?
Yes Trump did not know what Epstein was doing, you have proven he is not God.
Nobody ever thought he was
Democrats have also inadvertently shown that Trump had nothing to do with Epstein once he kicked him out of his country club. In fact it appears that the ONLY reason Epstein ever brought Trumps name up was to voice is hatred for him.
Well done Democrats 🤣🤣
Who said anyone was only interested in criminal acts? I for one am also interested to know who voluntarily made a very poor decision to associate in some way with Epstein/Maxwell after the ’08 guilty plea. Definitely brings the judgement of those folks into question. IMO they should do what Larry Summers did, retire from public life when info about his choices to associate with Epstein after ’08 finally came out. If they refuse to do so then they should prepare to face the questions coming their way and answer forthrightly letting the chips fall where they may.
No need to demean people here. You come off pretty bad regularly.
Trump banned Epstein from Mar a Lago because he figured out what he was doing.
When Trump heard there was a federal prosecutor looking into Epstein, he (per the prosecutor’s interview on the subject) contacted that prosecutor and volunteered to tell him everything he knew about Epstein. Which helped get him convicted the following year.
Maybe that one lawyer lady from 2020 can finally get out of lawyer jail. There is a kraken to release.
Outrage of the Day from a couple months ago. How many bogus ‘issues’ had they since then? Eg., the apoplexy over the thoughtless destruction of the Sacred East Wing. Just a mere blip. I can’t keep up. Maybe I should start a Liberal Meltdown diary to see just how random, scattered and useless these soi boi hissy-fits are.
Especially when you consider that it’s never what it’s purportedly about. Right now I am watching an anti ICE ‘demonstration’ which is just another Tuesday night illegal street party. They don’t know what they’re protesting about. They can’t. It changes too fast.
No matter what comes out … its not going to satisfy people’s notions of what they have convinced themselves is in there, so we’re going to have nonstop calls of “they didn’t release everything”, “they’re still hiding things” OR “they’ve doctored the evidence.”
For the lunatic fringe sure. Most of us understand that the govt probably IS gonna hold some info back. It isn’t as if the DC establishment/uniparty ‘Rich Men North of Richmond’ have been 100% transparent before now on any number of subjects. Plus there’s gonna be, according to DJT, further/renewed DoJ investigation which likely places those specific materials off limits until complete despite this legislation. Though if Trump signs it v veto then I am not entirely sure how the DoJ could argue they ‘don’t have to release’ any of the material. The normal DoJ policy arguments ‘ongoing investigation’ ‘grand jury material’ seem to be overcome by deliberate legislative act of Congress and POTUS directing release. That’s what Rep Higgins was arguing in his lone vote against release.
I agree with you that the DOJ may hold back certain documents it intends to use a part of any ongoing investigations. Unfortunately, whether we are talking about MTG, Alex Jones, Steve Bannon and Laura Loomer, they will go completely nuts stating that Trump reneged on his promise and is not acting in good faith nor fully transparent, resulting in the MSM having a feast day.
Trump will sign the Epstein law, and it will go into effect, but the Democrats and some GOP politicians and their allies in the MSM will continue arguing about it and trying to attack the White House because they put the perpetual argument component around what the AG is permitted to do to withholding items into the bill: (See page 4, Sub-section B. and page 5)

Any of the victims can run to the NYC and it would be published tomorrow. Heck, Maxwell could have levereged her knowledge into a get out of jail free card. Why haven’t they?
No matter what is released the Dems will say that either there are still secret files or the files have been deleted continueing this nonsense. If there was anything there about Trump does anyone think a Garland DOJ wouldn’t have leaked it already? All I’ve seen so far are Dems including Temu Obama.
