Heritage Trustee Robert George Resigns From Board

Heritage Trustee Robert George Resigns From Board

“My hope for Heritage is that it will be unbending and unflinching in its fidelity to its founding vision, upholding the moral principles of the Judeo-Christian tradition and the civic principles of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States.”

Robert George, a prominent conservative professor at Princeton University, announced his resignation from the Heritage Foundation board.

The decision stems from Heritage president Kevin Roberts sticking with Tucker Carlson after the latter’s gushing interview with neo-Nazi Nick Fuentes.

George posted on Facebook:

I have resigned from the board of the Heritage Foundation. I could not remain without a full retraction of the video released by Kevin Roberts, speaking for and in the name of Heritage, on October 30th. Although Kevin publicly apologized for some of what he said in the video, he could not offer a full retraction of its content. So, we reached an impasse.

Kevin is a good man. He made what he acknowledged was a serious mistake. Being human myself, I have plenty of experience in making mistakes. What divided us was a difference of opinion about what was required to rectify the mistake.

I’m sad to be leaving the Heritage board. I have great affection and esteem for Barb Gaby, who chairs the board, and my other board colleagues. I wish them and the Heritage Foundation the very best.

My hope for Heritage is that it will be unbending and unflinching in its fidelity to its founding vision, upholding the moral principles of the Judeo-Christian tradition and the civic principles of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States. I pray that Heritage’s research and advocacy will be guided by the conviction that each and every member of the human family, irrespective of race, ethnicity, religion, or anything else, as a creature fashioned in the very image of God, is “created equal” and “endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights.”

The anchor for the Heritage Foundation, and for our Nation, and for every patriotic American is that creed. It must always be that creed. If we hold fast to it even when expediency counsels compromising it, we cannot go wrong. If we abandon it, we sign the death certificate of republican government and ordered liberty.

George spoke about the Roberts video before, reposting a tweet from two years ago that he said applies today.

People encouraged George to say more, especially since he sat on the board.

A day later, George released a longer statement on X, reiterating the point that the conservative movement cannot include people like Fuentes. Here’s a snippet:

That is why I believe that the conservative movement, though it can and should be a broad tent, simply cannot include or accommodate white supremacists or racists of any type, antisemites, eugenicists, or others whose ideologies are incompatible with belief in the inherent and equal dignity of all. As a conservative, I say that there is no place for such people in our movement.

So, while I understand and appreciate that politics is about “adding and multiplying, not subtracting and dividing,” and though I welcome conservatives representing a range of viewpoints on a wide swath of issues, I will not—I cannot—accept the idea that we have “no enemies to the right.” The white supremacists, the antisemites, the eugenicists, the bigots, must not be welcomed into our movement or treated as normal or acceptable.

Is this a call for “cancelation”? No. It’s a reminder that we conservatives stand for something—or should stand for something. We have core principles that are not negotiable.

The loss of George looks poorly on Heritage. As I said, George is a well-respected member of the conservative movement.

Many on the right lamented the loss, effectively ending Heritage.

after trump and the scare ( to the lefty) that some justice might be done by this admin,,,the lefty fears no social workers

maga will fear those social workers as they will be empowered to designate others as a threat due to their allegiance to maga

robert goeoge backing out may not be a good thing as he would have power to offset the lefty move in the organization

George leaving is a good thing if only because offsetting the “lefty move” is a perpetual uphill battle that consumes time and intellectual effort and often doesn’t yield the desired results.

George makes a bigger statement by walking away, imo. Heritage will have to do some soul searching if it wants to hold on to both its mission and respect.

and now kevin gains more power as one of his detractors moves out of the way

soul searching has its time and place

just not when you are in battle

I’m getting tired of ceding cities, states, universities, think-tanks, and everything else to the locusts every time they infiltrate. That will not end well.

You should urgently cover Chat GPT

Chat GPT is openly lying on behalf of J.D. Vance and the Carlson family

Here you could see Buckley Carlson’s tweets https://x.com/Saul_Sadka/status/1989779330872803697/photo/1

I showed Chat GPT multiple times and it is gaslighting me about it.

Thanks for that link. It’s completely unrelated but I found out from that that Sydney Sweeney is dating Scooter Braun, so I like her more now.

If you don’t know anything about Braun, he’s the guy who dared to tell Taylor Swift she had to live up to her music rights contract (or at least buy back her rights). He almost got cancelled and was threatened by a deranged horde of pink haired pixies that Taylor unleashed at him on social media for being part of the “evil patriarchy” that dare stifle tay tay.

Thank you, I already liked her but that is icing on the cake after her effectively acting as coroner for media ability to bully people.

This means he’s losing. It isn’t good.

Why should we hesitate to discard and/or replace institutions that have strayed from the purposes for which they were founded?

We should not be platforming radicals who believe that any particular group is ‘less than’ nor should we offer space for those who believe a particular group is ‘more than’. In the American melting pot we should demand assimilation into English language proficiency and basic Western Civilization, respect the rights of others to generally live their own lives without interference (unless their actions intrude on other people) and reinforce that we don’t have any official National Religion (yes many States have one), that no one’s individual religious belief is a sound basis for National policy (unless you want Ilhan Omar or someone like her in the future setting policy using hers then don’t create a precedent using yours).

While a leader never wants to submit to a “me-or them” workplace dispute, this dispute has been settled.
It seems like leadership now for Barb Gaby would be to wait a month or two for dust to settle, quietly ask for Kevin Roberts to resign, then reach back out to Robert George to rejoin.
